Introduction: The Rules and Regulations of the Lands of Alnoroth

Upon Registration

• 1. Names.
If you register with a name that is not a character name, feel free to private message one of the administration, or make a post in the help forum. If you wish to change it.

• 3. Application stickies and descriptions.
All you need do is read through thoroughly and keep them in mind!

• 4. Forms in the application sticky.
Keep in mind to fill out every single form we ask you to thoroughly, and make sure you provide enough information for each section, and remember; detail makes the administration happy.

The OOC Rules

• 1. Flaming.
Any arguments formed will be swiftly dealt with by the administration; repeated offense will result in suspension. At the end of the suspension, if the flaming continues, a permanent ban will be issued.

• 2. Advertising.
No advertising is allowed. If you come to the forum with a link in your signature, embedded into an avatar, or anything of that nature, it will be removed immediately.

• 3. Spamming.
Don’t spam on the forums, specifically repeated posts. I don’t mind if you’re having fun posting, just don’t make a repeated gesture. A warning n will be issued, and eventually a suspension if the action is repeated.

• 4. Respect others.
This means that you ask someone if you can join into a specific role-play they’re coordinating, or want to be a member of a specific kingdom someone runs (This includes that you read the information said person has posted about their region.) Make sure you know whether or not you’re hindering someone’s role-play. Ask them and talk to them. If someone’s having a problem with you, they’ll report it, and you will be warned, and possibly suspended if the action is repeated.

• 5. READ THE RULES.
Read them, understand them, and follow them. If you decide not to, and we catch you breaking one, expect to be gone real quickly.

The IC Rules

• 1. Meta-gaming.
God-modding will not be tolerated whatsoever. This includes playing another’s character without their consent, and doing something to said person’s character without their agreement. Role-playing unexplained, unapproved, and unusual power and using it to say, blow up an entire city, is strictly forbidden. First offense is a warning, second a suspension, and third is a permanent ban. As a last note, every character has a weakness, and it is expected that you heed this.

• 2. One-line posts.
Don’t make a one-line post unless there is already little to respond to, it’s greatly frowned upon. This forum is dedicated to writing, and role-playing. You make something of your own, you write it. You don’t just throw it down in half a second and post a reply. You will be warned the first time, suspended the second, and banned the third.

• 3. Content.
Please be aware of the content of your posts. Though we appreciate people in being detailed and in-depth role-players, please do not be too graphic within your threads. This includes detailing sexual actions (cybering) or excessive violence (bordering on being disgusting). Character relationships are understandable, but not everyone wants to see text-written pornography, and therefore any such posts will be deleted and you will be punished accordingly. The same goes for excessive violence, of course it is likely for someone to be decapitated or lose a limb in the Lands of Alnoroth, writing a blood thirsty essay is not, so please if someone finds the post off-putting, for the sake of others remove such content. In the future, we may make a mature board if that's what people want.

• 4. OOC in IC
Please keep OOC in IC threads to a minimum. If it is completely necessary for you to inform the person you are interacting with something, please use either of these form of brackets to signify in the thread that you're speaking out of character: (()) [[]] {}

Punishment System:

As written above, it’s obvious we have a three strike, you’re out system of dealing with troublemakers. In this section, the three will be stated clear and visible for your own benefit.

• Warning –
A warning will consist of a private message by one of the administration informing you of your violation, and your next step of punishment if it continues.

• Suspension –
A suspension will consist of either a week or two depending on the violation, a private message explaining why, or perhaps an e-mail if you’re suspended immediately.

• Permanent Ban –
A permanent ban means you’re gone. You will be contacted via email to discuss the reasoning should you wish, along with whether or not you wish to appeal your banning. We don’t take this step of action lightly, and you won’t be banned without good reason. As long as you read the rules and stick to them, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
