Frodo the White the White?
|
Smeagol, your hands are not the safest place for storage of the ring. As you're such an able and fit climber of rocksides, it can easily slip from your grasp. And you're also without pockets. Elrond, with your flowing Elvish robes, finding the ring in a moment of need between us all might prove difficult. I promise it will be most safe around my neck. It will not be comfortable and a great weight to bear, but I will do so in the name of this secret fellowship. |

And so far, the Shire has become easily the most chatty group of this game. It's a little intimidating. |

Frodo, though I appreciate your concern as being able for us to grab the Ring at a quick notice, I think it best that we keep it in a safe location away from all of us. Remember, we need to be able to think at length before using it, so I think it wise for none of us to carry it. Rivendell had most of its occupants show their golden faces early, but since it has quieted down a bit. Even so, there are people to talk to. I feel sad for poor Smeagol, being so alone in Mordor. |

Lord Elrond, I take you at your word that you will, all of us will, guard this ring with great care. Without us working together, controlling its power to our utmost advantage will be impossible. Smeagol, what say you? Also, you will be pleased to know that the stupid fat hobbit is still all three. |

Still stupid and fat? There's no one in Rivendell I just hate yet, but no one's been around long enough to hate. Simple-minded folk, thus far. |

Give it to us, my PRECIOUS!
|
Smeagol still thinks that the precious will be safest in the watery pool of Smeagol's cave. It was safe there for a long time and has the most reliable history. Stupid, fat hobbit! Smeagol knew it be true. He was never your friend Master, no he wasn't. We saw him stealing your elvish bread and eating it all while you slept. He is a pig, that he is! |

Smeagol, we all know that to not be true, and to continue those lies when it was you who destroyed the bread is foolishness! But he's still stupid and fat. |

While I do understand that the Ring would possibly be safe there, recall that it once abandoned you, Gollum. Returned to the darkness of the pools, I think it will try to escape yet again, and without it in our possession we will be unable to use it appropriately. I think it best to keep it in Rivendell, and I can find a darkened stream to place it in, if it pleases you. |

Elvish bread is made with the utmost of care and dedication and only given to mortals in time of need and peril. I find it offensive to either steal or destroy it, and hope that if Sam indeed did such, he will be punished severely. |

You've been misled, Lord Elrond. It was Smeagol who destroyed the bread in order to deceive me. But I do not hold it against him. Smeagol is a soul with great torture in his heart, and his actions are sometimes not his own. Rivendell is marked territory of your people, Elrond, and hardly a neutral territory between our three groups. Perhaps a location more suited to all of our mutual benefit might work, such as Minas Tirith. It'd be most safe there. |

Why don't you three let me keep the Ring, I'll keep it safe it and out of harms way and out of the hands of...or really big eye of Sauron, or no? |

Minas Tirith? There are many locations where Smeagol will not be allowed to enter, and the White Tower is one such place. While he undoubtedly could sneak his way into the Tower to reclaim the Ring in his need, it is unfair that either of us could walk in with much less difficulty to claim our prize. A more mutually agreeable place still is necessary. Perhaps Mirkwood, under the watch of Thrranduil? As an Elvish territory, I can come and go freely. A relation of Bilbo Baggins easily would be welcome, and Gollum, having been held captive there, is familiar with the location and will not be wholly out-of-place, considering the Dark Powers once held dominance there. |

Smeagol couldn't have done anything with your bread, Master, we don't like it! It tasteses nasty it does. We don't even like to touch it. Give us raw fish, thats what we like! We caught the fat hobbit stuffing his face when you weren't looking, that we did. We say you banish him forever and stay with your true friend, Smeagol. All of this talk about hiding the precious in various places is foolish. Smeagol is the one with the most experience with the precious, so we are the right one to take it. As long as thief Baggins doesn't arrive all shall be okay. Master shall prevent him from coming into our cave, right Master? |

Though I hate to throw one of our Fellowship under the bus, I do feel the need to inform you, Smeagol, that Frodo is a close relative of Bilbo and came into possession of the Ring only through the thievery performed by his uncle. He, however, did not feel it wrong to continue possession of the Ring and claim it as his own. I feel that it is unwise to allow him to claim it, and again feel it safest in Mirkwood out of the hands of all of us. |
