I just got back from seeing the new movie based off of the Frank Miller comic which was in turn based off of the Battle of Thermopyle. The plot was not extremely twisty and was straigthforward but it was deep and filled with fantastic acting that gave you a sense of Pride as the Spartan warriors battled the Persian army of which they seemed to have no hope of defeating. The battle that took up a VAST majority of the movie made all of the Lord of the Rings battles look like slap fights, especially considering that this event actually did happen. I was astounded by the visual prowess this movie showed as well as the acting talent. I give this movie an A. |

I don't know about that, CMA. Since some of it looked CGI, killing off fake warriors didn't feel that realistic. But I will grant that the love scenes were quite good, and the strategy they portrayed made me laugh with glee from all the butchering. Kinda like that "Seven Swords" movie, only the Persians weren't exactly as advanced technology wise with weaponry. |

Not a single soldier was CGI. Infact only the back grounds and some of the damage was CGI. As well as the animals. |

Really? That's odd, they didn't look real from my view. But if you say so, okay then. Now, off to research the beheading umbrella! (walks off to wikipedia) |

Oh well that is because thy used the same shading techniques they used in Sin City so it blended the characters in with their environment a lot more, thus giving them a CGI feel |

Well, you ARE Comic Master Alpha, so I tend to ignore you when you say "The Comic is better", because I already know you think that way on most, if not all, occasions. |

well this was really prevelant. For instance the hunch back didn't attempt suicide like in the comic. They didn't build up on Stelios' character as much as they did in the comics, although I liked how they built up on the Captain's son more and the same with the wife. I did not really like the added stuff back at the city with the Queen since her only appearance in the comic was when Leonidas was leaving to battle but regardless it turned out good...for the most part. I also wished they stuck to the spears more than the short swords but whatever. |
