Well, I'm the type of person who's always up for something new as far as gameplay. I was shocked when I first started playing this game called Dark Cloud, which apparently came out years ago. It's really different as far as most RPGs I've played. Take Legend of Zelda and mix it with an RPG where, rather than your characters level up, YOUR WEAPONS DO! It was definately something different, and I'm glad I picked it up. Though weapons can break, much like in Fire Emblem, I see it as more of a "plan your combos and keep on your toes" kind of thing. I saw many mixed reviews of the game on gamefaqs, and I was dissapointed to see that the people who wrote the BAD reviews seemed to only complain about the length and the weapon breaking ((don't pick up an RPG if you don't want to spend hours on it, dumbshits!)) and the GOOD reviews gave halfhearted reasons as to why they liked the game. Tis a pity. So now I ask; has anyone else played this game? |

I've meant to play Dark Cloud 2 but anytime I did, either the clerk would tell me not to bother, or I'd find something I'd been looking for for like, way too long. I haven't heard much about Dark Cloud 1, though I've read that its alot better than its sequel. |

Stupendously better, from what I've heard from many of my friends. Also, I heard it's incredibly rare. |

From what Ive seen and heard, the game was a blatant attempt to bring LOZ to Playstation under a different name. I think the game failed at doing this but appears quite decent in its own niche |

Actually, it didn't try to be LoZ for PSX at all. It's really a lot more like Actraiser 3D or something. I dunno if people remember the classic SNES game Actraiser.. but it was basically 1/2 SimCity and 1/2 an Action RPG. That's the exact same thing that Dark Cloud is. If you want to call it a knock-off of anything it should be Actraiser. As a game it's really good, but I've never played the 2nd. As an Actraiser clone it lives up pretty good as well. |
