BatteryMan logged in with his usual blinding/deafening bolt of lightning and prepared for battle.

He didn't know his opponent very well, which worried him. He prefered to know everything he could about an opponenet before he battle him. Knowlage was power, after all, especially in war. However, BatteryMan was still confident of his abilities. His foe was walking into a fight he would certainly regret begining, as far as BatteryMan was concerned. He was vaugly aware of Nazomi biting her nails as she fiddeled with the display settings on her PET. BatteryMan sighed in irritation.

"Calm down, I'll bet our opponenet is a light-weight. I have only bearly had one worthy challange since you first started using me as your navi."

Nazomi stopped biting her nails long enough to retort:

"Don't be so damn cocky. One of these times your going to get your face pounded in by another navi and I just hope I'm there to see it so I can revel in how wrong you were about your abilties."

CyberPhantom's appearance was sudden. He logged in with little more than a typical stream of light, preserving any theatrics for the following fight. He walked forward, maintaining a level of silence due to his AirShoes, preventing any metal clanking.

He was six meters away from Batteryman, directly behind him.

"I'll break my silence. We are fighting, for something I want. Recognition..rank...respect. I am CyberPhantom. State your name, and attack!"

BatteryMan turned around and replied coldly:

"Dead navis need not know the name of their killers"

"You must be be CyberPhantom, the impetuous ninja-wannabe navi who challenged me. I have come prepared for your trickery.."

"Fine..I was only giving you the honorable option of stating your name...Batteryman. Its not as if you aren't without records, being in the official's employ.

I take special offense to the ninja insult. I'm no ninja. I'm destruction and deception incarnate. You won't be able to hit me, let alone keep up. I figured I'd give you a mercy shot. Too bad. Only idiots don't take the advantages they are given."

CyberPhantom flexed his body backwards a bit, snapping back into position. Cracking his neck, he darted forward. His run ended only a meter forward..good..5 panels between us..His sword took form, consuming his right arm. He made a semi-beheading motion for his slash; eerily, his blade itself held no power. Instead, a vacuum like effect would take place at Batteryman's position, as if a ghost were slashing him in CyberPhantom's place.

BatteryMan saw his opponent break into a run. Instinct told BatteryMan his opponent was running towards him not simply as a blind charge or to get into BatteryMan's face, but to close the distance between them so his attack would be more effective. BatteryMan turned and ran as CyberPhantom did, except that when CyberPhantom stopped running, BatteryMan had not. BatteryMan continued to run until he was a good 10 or so meters away from CyberPhantom. CyberPhantom's attack, which had only a radius of 6 meters fell significantly short. BatteryMan heard a clank beneath his feet and realized he was standing on a Metal pannel.

"Good, now I'm almost set..." BatteryMan thought.

CyberPhantom was in for a surprise if he thought defeating BatteryMan would be THAT easy...

Figured...I knew he'd do something like this..

CyberPhantom could only watch on as his attack fell short. It was expected. It was nothing more than a test. His enemy was obviously quite fast, enlarging the distance by 5 meters. CyberPhantom took notice that he stepped on a metal panel. Perhaps it was intentional..maybe not. Either way, he seems a bit..happy to stand on it. Not only that, he's saving his attacks. No matter. He cannot run from me.

Cracking his neck once more, he stomped his foot. Within a small burst of light, the field was changed, into a dry, sandy landscape--officially called Sand Stage. In front of CyberPhantom, something rather..strange appeared. It was a rather large Hodgepodge, which looked to be nothing more than three Fans fused together into a powerful turbine. It was somewhat larger, and cylindrical now, with triple the suction power, and durability. This whipped up a sand frenzy, troubling both navis.

CyberPhantom replaced his left hand with a more...battle-friendly MarkCannon2, even with its own awesome decals. Peering over the side of the Hodgepodge, he locked on. Taking little time, he fired, hopefully piercing Batteryman's abdomen.

BatteryMan winced as the sand blow around him, hindering his view and putting sand in crevices of his body he wished they really wouldn't go. He hadn't wished to have to tip his hand quite so early, but he really had no choice. BatteryMan was being quickly sucked towards the hodgepodge, a potentially dangerous situation to be in.

He activated Metal Stage, instantly dispatching any sand that had been blowing in his face. Now that all the panels were metallic, he had the advantage. The Hodgepodge had duckd him across the battlefield towards Cyber Phantom so he was now only about 3 meters away. BatteryMan saw his opponent take aim at him. Although a cursor navi he foe wasn't, it still worried him. He activated a chip of his own to block the incoming assault. A large Rock Cube appeared in front of BatteryMan, absorbing his opponent's attack. As the rock cube was struck, it began to crack slightly. The attack had damaged it, but the cube was still in tact..for the most part. The rock cube also hindered his path towards the Hodgepodge. With a great whacking cube in his way, the Hodgepodge's vacuum couldn't blow him towards it....well, at least not as quickly, anyway. BatteryMan felt himself and the cube being sucked slowly towards the hodgepodge.

"Shit.." thought BatteryMan

"I didn't think someone so full of hot air could be so dangerous"

OoC: The cube would have 1~2% life left.
BiC:

CyberPhantom had nothing to fear, having nothing to dodge or defend against, he decided to keep his string of attacks going. Using his bladed right arm, he slashed with an ominous intent. Only 3 or so meters away, a quick cutting wave of energy rushed into place, cutting the rock cube in two, causing it to de-materialize. CyberPhantom then ushered in his phantasmal data into his cursor weapon, readying it for the next round. With nothing in his way, Batteryman would hopefully be a close range target soon.

OOC: Whoops, your right. I must have mis-read the damage of Mark Cannon 2 :ermm:

Bic:

BatteryMan's ranked program became active, healing a few minor injuries from the sand damage. Thankful for the refreshing burst of power, BatteryMan activated Poltergiest. There was a dangerous thrum as CyberPhantom's hodgepodge suddenly lifted into the air and was thrown violently by some invisible force at it's owner! CyberPhantom would most likely have no choice but to avoid the attack and abandon his charge on BatteryMan, since the statue was flying right at CyberPhantom. The shattered remains of the rock cube disapeared, thus an inelligable target for Poltergiest. It was unfortunate, but throwing the Hodgepodge was still pretty dangerous for CyberPhantom.

Meanwhile, BatteryMan was backing up and darting side to side, making himself a much difficult target for his opponenet. Metal haste gave BatteryMan an additional charge counter than normal, increasing his overall charge to 12!.

"Not quite yet" thought BatteryMan.

It wasn't quite time to initiate his plan yet. However, he did fire off 3 spheres of dangerous electrial energy from his Discharge buster. The 3 sphered "lightning Helix" flew towards CyberPhantom but as the triangle of energyballs was within a few inches of CyberPhantom, they split into 3 different directions! One sphere flew over CyberPhantom's head and arched back from behind, threatening to blast him in the back, another shot strait up and decended at CyberPhantom from above while the third went into an insane zig-zag pattern and eventually flew at CyberPhantom from the right. BatteryMan's charge had been reduced to 9, preventing him from gaining any more HP until the next time his charge counters were above 10. However, since his charge counters had broken the threshold before this attack and the Ranked program had healed him then, BatteryMan did have sufficent counters to heal himself at the start of this little barrage. Hopefully at least one aspect of the attack would hit CyberPhantom, allthough BatteryMan wasn't holding his breath...

OoC: No problem.

BiC:
With a now fully charged cannon on hand, CyberPhantom thought he'd have the advantage. Seeing the Hodgepodge rise into the air caused CyberPhantom distress. He reacted almost subconsciously with his innate defensive system, Phantasm Shift. His body faded quickly from sight, from scanners, from most parts of the net. He was safe, safe from any attack that he assumed Batteryman could throw out. The hodgepodge flew straight through him, breaking into pieces.

In the split second he saw Batteryman stop to fire his electric blasts out, he released the charge in the MarkCannon2. In an instant, his body was 'thrown' behind him, invisible, silent and deadly. The cannon fired point blank at Batteryman's back. During his gun's fire, CyberPhantom swiped with his blade, also releasing a hidden vine creeping underfoot. CyberPhantom quickly returned back to his position, with the orbs of electricity simply floating about, with nothing to hit. Without being able to sense CyberPhantom, CP imagined it would be rather difficult to anticipate and even see his attacks coming.

OOC/Off topic: Is it my imagination or does your member avatar change every 2 minutes.. :ermm:

Bic:

The shockspheres disipated harmlessly within a few seconds. BatteryMan had figured that would happen. Still, he was slightly disapointed all the same.

BatteryMan had been fighting for a very long time before he had started having Nazomi as his net op. Nazomi's adopted father ((as mentioned in my profile)) was a long-serving member of the ONB who used BatteryMan long before Nazomi was born/adopted by him. Because of this, cheap tricks such as the ones CyberPhantom was using were not going to work. Granted, this attack was a fair bit more elaborate than most and definatly more skilful, but still very much predictable by BatteryMan. Acting on instinct, BatteryMan leaped forwards and turned around, putting a Rook between himself and his opponent, absorbing the attacks. The vine which would have grabbed BatteryMan and redered him at least partially imobile was not useable on an obstical (at lest as far as I know), thus making the vine inopperable. The slash from CyberPhantom's sword and blast from the Mark Cannon 2 were absorbed by the Rook. Being non-breaking attacks, they had no effect on the rook. BatteryMan smirked

"Try again, amature" thought BatteryMan.

Batteryman then activated prime re-charge, massively increasing his charge counters. Since he had been at 9 and the metal haste ability had pushed him up to 11 (a prime number), he had been able to activate Prime recharge, increasing his total charge counters by 13!

OoC: Meh, I'm not ready for this fight. Sides, im a bit too impatient for the moment. I'll fight you in a week or so.

BiC:

CyberPhantom halted his attacks. Instead, he disengaged his stealth settings. He logged out, but not before warning Batteryman.

"Today, I rushed into this battle. But the next time I face you....I'll cut your cybernetic tongue out for your insults."

OoC: You were a much bigger challenge than I originally expected. I look forward to fighting you again. Hopefully, I, too, will be more prepared.

BiC:
BatteryMan smirked. "The result will be the same as before. Don't delude yourself, fool." He activated the Spoils of War function of his Discharge Buster, allowing him to sacrifice twelve Charge Counters in order to store the other twelve in his system for later. "That takes care of that," said BatteryMan.
