Another week where those who really RPed up a storm pleased me a LOT. You guys have really inspired me and Lita and I are busy backstage cooking up how to reward you and make sure everyone gets a fair shake in this fed (hence the theory of a Midway title appearing)...

Anyway, I haven't really given feedback in a while since everyone has been pretty much great, but as I like to do with title matches and close calls, I'd like to point out WHY I chose who I chose.

Roxie/Lesbiana/Rebekah: Rebekah was never going to get RPed for in the first place, so I'm not even going to go there. Lesbiana had some great stuff, but beyond it being centered more on the Ghost/Lesbiana/Jaime thing, it really left her sort of distant and upset. I may have played on it a little too much in the match, but I think it works out OK. Let me know if I missed something in the RPs that I should change anything for, but I think I played things out just fine. Beyond that, Joe's been on FIRE with Roxie lately. I'd be a fool to not recognize the potential and give him another shot.

Grant and Jaime/Huachuca City: This is a RPing feud that didn't heat up until the last minute, and for that reason I largely disregarded Graver's snide comments after Grant's blogs. They were mostly just done for fun anyway. Jaime's lack of interest in the match had me leaning toward an H-City victory from the get-go, and the idea Wiggum proposed to me to help along the feud was too interesting to ignore so I went that way with it. The tag team division has some of our best roleplayers in it, so things should really be heating up the next few weeks!

Chester/Angus: This is going to be quick and painless. Until Misogyny I was hard for an Angus victory. The longer that debacle went on, the more Chester took my sway and Angus lost it. It didn't come down to a coin toss or anything, but that exact series of RPs is what changed my mind.

Greatness/Swytch: This one honestly wasn't that hard, though I did feel bad about it. Greatness was once one of my favorite Joe wrestlers (though nobody tops Crackerjack, honestly) and lately he's been a little weirdly single-minded, but it's still been typical Greatness... well, Greatness. This week seemed a bit two-dimensional and just lacked that spark that sets the character of Greatness alive. It is (in kayfabe terms) likely better for Swytch to hang on to his title for now anyway; after all the crap I put him through actually getting to a fair championship match, the guy deserves to at hug his strap for longer than a week.

So there you have it. Awesome promos from all who provided, and once I get the details of the next few weeks figured out, the card will be posted.

Thots?

As much as I'd like to get Lesbiana back in the Flycore hunt I think she has more important things on her mind right now. I did think you overplayed that a little at first but looking back on my RPs last week I think you got it just right. At the moment she doesn't need the title as something to fued with Jaime over, and Roxie deserves a shot at it.

Ghost's little foray into the tag match should stir things up nicely. Before she lost the title I wasn't quite sure what to do with her when she became beltless, but I think an interesting storyline is forming nicely.

I was kinda thinking there'd be a double winner in that ladder match, just goes to show you of my own hard on with a triple threat match there for the Flycore. Oh well, Roxie versus Jaime is okay...I guess. Though I did like the fact that Roxie did choose friendship over career, unlike some other heartless skanky object. RP wise I did feel bad about leaving Rebekah out of mine, though now that I hear she wasn't meant to be RPed for it's alright. The only problem I did have though was the Lesbiana/Ghost RPs. *takes a moment to sip drink, which I'll now get then sip* Ah, Five Alive, if there was an energy drink I could endorse, it would be that. Hey, a small box gave me the energy to get through an entire Gold Cup parade so I'll endorse it for free. Where was I? Oh yeah, they ended too soon. I was actually checking here at least a few times a day looking to see if there'd be another. So imagine my surprise, and glee, when I found a promo. I put off reading the title match for that, so yeah. That and it was a kind of interesting week, Roxie's relationship with Vicky strengthens while a crack forms in the foundation that is Ghost/Lesbiana. Thought that was kinda cool. Though now Ghost is striking me as the kind of character I want to step in and smack. I both like those characters and hate them, though the ratio is based on how they're played out.

The title match was actually pretty good. While I'm upset that I lost I completely understand. Though it would've been cool for Swytch to lose so suddenly after going through months of trying and pushing and fighting only to have the most cocky S.O.B. gloating in his face. But Roger not getting pinned or even submitting works for me, still a clear winner (though not from his point of view--my attempt at The Rock's Backlash promo after losing to Stone Cold).

Roger to me now, is more insulting. Not like "you're stoopid" kind of insulting, but everyone is beneath him in his point of view. I figured I tried capturing his old spirit of his rookie days a little too many times (and what came was his not so great days) so I figured a little less Rock in times and more early Jericho. Kinda like if they got gay and gays could have kids that would somehow have not only a mixture of appearance but styles of speech it'd be Roger. A guy whose name came from Archie comics. Seriously. Despite all those gimmicky names, they do come up with some good ones.

I'm supposing people don't like me going on about my own work but I need to make mention of the Dexter/Graver promo. In the words of Jay Sherman "It stinks!". Or at least it did until Wight got through with it then it became much better. Nice to see though at the beginning we were on the same kind of wave length. I was going to use Dogma quote "Quit leering at me, people will think we broke up" but couldn't think of a way to use that. Though as I told Wight I'm gonna take a sideline vreak with Spectationill. Not take them off the card entirely, just sit back and wonder who they are. Because to me their quality is starting to slip and I'd hate to have to remove them entirely because of that. I did read "Spectationill episode 0" (which was done before they joined NGIW and I'll post it later for those curious enough) and figured that's maybe where I'll want to take them. I'll give it some thought later.

But you like Crackerjack? Wow...there's my new thing for the day.

=edit= Title histories have been edited. =edit=

Party on,
Joe.

Did I tell everyone BUT you? Don't you remember how I used to almost exclusively take his matches to write in FIW and oversell him like a motherfucker? Jeeze, ask anyone around, Oni included "does Wight like Crackerjack?" you will be met with a "OH GODS YES."

EDIT: Well, at this point Oni would say "..." because he dropped off the face of the earth, but I am making an effort in trying to find out what happened to him. Next time his lady signs online I'm going to ask her.

You can feel free to prattle on about your characters all you like. It's good to see people taking time to look that deeply into what's going on.

Haven't honestly read much, since it's late and been a long day. I'll get to it in the next day or two, and give the show a proper read. I will say though, I'm disappointed in the outcome of the Tag Match. Not because I necessarily felt we had the win in our pocket, but more because it's just a match that I really wanted to see the pair win. That is all, for now.

I was a bit disappointed myself, honestly. It's hard to pick victors when you like everyone. I think this makes more sense for the sake of the upcoming story, and it's better than bouncing the tag titles back and forth like they're wont to be.

Um, rather, in the words of Hunter S. Thompson, "Buy the ticket, take the ride."

Moustache ride?

I just recieved a package in the mail this morning. It was my own squashed ass, and it was post-marked from Ohio. That being said, I enjoyed RPing Angus this week, but I fear the character's run dry so I'm going to mothball him for a bit and try and come up with something "original". One thing I'd like to try and say without sounding whiney... I wasn't deadline bombing in the last thread between Chester and Angus. It was pure motivation, and I wouldn't insult Wight's intelligence otherwise by assuming I could get away with it in the first place. I thought the accusation was kind of rude as I've, as near as I can recall, never been one to do that. But I was over it after a squirrel ran by my window.

All the same... motivation to write doesn't always produce profound material. My stuff wasn't well thought out and I guess I was just writing to have more and win. Quantity versus quality and all that. That's lame. So yea... congrats to Lita for kicking my butt so hard it's hunched between my shoulder blades, and I apologize for giving the wrong impression with my crap-ass and late RP's.

Angus... out!
