I will say that I'm pretty damn upset over the Midway title results. Not understanding how that one came about really. I can probably guess, but whatever. And that guess had me thinking maybe it was time to step away from NGIW for a while but I'm not the kind of jagoff who leaves because of a miniscule incident that really won't go further than the aspect of this board...or much further. Really it'd be like me saying "..." well, I really don't know what it'd be like saying but rest assured that if there had been something I could think of I'd say it...probably. Either way I was pretty much promised a title shot for filling out the app early enough and as I told Wight through PM, around the time it came about, that I'd want a rematch anytime Roxie loses it. But given the contract of the match...well, let's just say it'll be interesting on how you two work that one out. Rest of the show was no real big surprise, nor the awards, kinda figured who would win would win. Interpret that any way you want to really. Except the Cube, much like the last one (or at least I think the last was the tag...unless I'm mistaken in which case if I am I'll be referring to the tag one) I was surprised by the results. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

Fuck off... I won the Cube? Why? Grant schooled me like a playground bitch! I'm not complaining mind you. This is shock talking. Honestly. I thought after the last minute round of RPing, Grant solidified his bid to win and we'd see the Rices kicking off the new year proper. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I guess I'm just acknowledging talent when I see it. Anyways, thanks Wight. A win like this means a lot to me. For real. |

Hey! Don't you know the e-fed feedback unwritten rules? Nobody leaves actual feedback when someone has let it known that they're pissed off until at least three replies later. God damn it...it's moments like these that I wonder why you're my brother. I mean besides the obvious reason. Though I suppose since we're on the subject, [size0]god damn it, Adam it is nice that we'll finally see some new faces in the main event listing. Nothing against Mo-mar, but...yeah, um, I guess I'd just be repeating myself. Damn, I sound just as awkward as I did when I introduced myself to the Queen. Oh, I thought the flashbacks were for everyone. Well, how embarrassing. Guess I'll just be kicking on down the snow covered, hard earthed trail down yonder. ... ... ...forgot my shoes... Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

I'm pretty happy with the results. Tickled to win the Most Improved RPer award, and I thought Finn did great in the Cube. No complaints here! |

The thing I hate the most about other people not having access to my decision-making process when it comes to results is that I imagine they just think I sit at a dartboard and wing shit at it from afar, or go "golly gee, who's my better friend?" and just choose that way. So, before I go to bed tonight to help assuage Joe's ego (that's not meant offensively; don't take it that way) I'm going to give you a peak into how exactly the Midway Title match got decided. I read the roleplays, re-reading some that I'd already read to refresh my memory and going through the ones I hadn't yet gotten to thanks to illness. Weighing each against the others and trying to figure out for myself who should win. The way I saw it, Roxie had a shotgun-blast of roleplays of good quality but questionable relevance versus Jaime's three-round-burst (not an actual number, just keeping with the gun metaphor) of solid, packed RPs. It's no secret that Lita's the better all-around roleplayer (the awards tell us that much) so those RPs were very good at what they set out to do. Yet in the face of Joe's litter of RPs they seemed a bit... outnumbered. Still, Roxie's set also had a few bouts of false information being displayed by the characters and pointed out by the opposition so I was on the fence. If I can't see a clear victor I usually head to my second-in-commend, Lita, for thoughts. Except this was Lita's match and I try not to ask her her thoughts on her own matches. I mentioned to her that it was difficult to decide, and she responded as non-committal as one can to that kind of thing before we moved on to talk about Chester vs. Horus. I finished all but the Cube match in terms of writing results when the Boy poked his head out of the shower and the real debate ensued. Cleaning up the overly blunt way we share discourse, he felt Jaime would be a better victor because Jaime is more Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Roxie is more Desperate Housewives, and Depserate Housewives is decidedly not his cup of tea. I conjectured that in this particular matchup Roxie did indeed have the larger amount of roleplays, though I can't say I was as entertained by them as I was Jaime's. Which led me to analyze exactly why. Ask most and they'll tell you that I like Roxie and her character. I absolutely love the effort you put into everything she does, to the point that it drives me nuts that you insist on having her play second fiddle to the Greatness. The recent change to "evil" and the dynamic between you and Lita in the Roxie/Jaime tag match were priceless and had me in stitches. I like the womyn rallies and the various interactions with Ofdensen you've sent me in promos. It's quality stuff. So why, if I like this character so much, am I so bored by the roleplays you put forth? And it hits me. While I absolutely love Roxie and accept Vicky as a required straight man to Roxie's antics, I can't stand Arthur. The very character archetype he's crafted from is the sort of snivelling know-it-all I turn the TV channel to avoid on E! news or VH1 specials. What's his name... er... Perez Hitlon. Yes. Perhaps that's not how you designed him, but it's what his every word drips with in my ears and I can't stand it. Further to the point, I like Roxie and what's going on with her. The ongoing tragedy of Vicky's drug abuse/prostitution/whatever else she gets up to isn't really anything I find myself concenred with. ... and Trina's a cunt, but I'm pretty sure that's on purpose and she's not around that often anyhow. Further to the point is that when Roxie is confronted by Vicky's bullshit (which given Vicky's propensity for ill-hidden bullshit is around every other week) she turns from being Roxie Galanoochie into Sad Puppy-Dog Eyes Kicked-Kittykins. She loses all fervor, all spark, and becomes a reticent, motivationless sad sack. For every good line of Roxie dialogue you gave me, you gave me two lines of something else that left a shit taste in my mouth. For every fun scene or dellusional bit of fervor I was fed, it was followed by bile and misery. The Dagwood Sandwich you built of Roxie RPs certainly held the cold cuts, cheese, and barbeque sauce that I enjoy, but you also put a lot of anchovies, mayo, and pickle relish in there too. More, I think, than the meat and cheese. Cutting the vague metaphors aside, every time I judge a Roxie match when the entire cadre of sub-characters is brought into the mix I have to weigh the good against the bad and see what the final sum is. This week, despite your paramount effort, I wound up with more Vicky and Arthur than Roxie, and since the easiest way to win in an e-fed is to please the person judging the RPs, it meant the victory went to Jaime. Now... I'm not saying you need to cut these characters out of your repitoire or you'll never win again. I'm not saying you need to make every roleplay happy-go-lucky Roxie and cut all the storylines you want to run where she gets the short end of the stick for whatever reason. I'm just letting you know what I prefer from the character so that when what you choose to do is full of shit I don't like, you'll be better prepared for the consequences. I feel this bears a secondary, more broad address to clarify that I'm not being a nitpicky, "please me or get the fuck out" kind of person. Usually I reserve these detailed opinions for myself because quite frankly the blunt way I think comes across as harsh and insulting to most people. It's also not the way I decide every single match. There's countless factors that weigh into any one decision, including relevence to the match, who could most benefit from a victory in terms of storyline and future storyline setup, who has gotten the short end of the stick from me in the past that I need to make that up to, and who can I rely on to carry the torch for a while and cement my decision to set them on the path to victory. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of other factors, but that's the majority of them. Judging matches isn't arbitrary, and it isn't easy especially when I've got so many roleplayers who are either on dangerously equal ground with their competition or just plain out of their league with nobody like-skilled around to face. It makes it even harder because there are a lot of delicate egos in NGIW. If I judge a match "poorly", so-and-so might get offended and think I'm just being biased, especially if their opponent happens to be Lita (I use Lita here because for whatever reason more people seem to be upset when losing to her than anyone else.) Too many losses in a row and what'shisname thinks they suck at RPing and should just leave the fed altogether. That goes for title shots, interesting matches, so on and so forth. And gods forbid I actually judge a match WRONG (which has happened in the past) because then the winner is confused, the loser is pissed, and I get to sit around feeling like a dumbass who's just let everybody down. One could argue that perhaps I shouldn't judge matches on how much I liked the roleplays, but instead hold it to some sort of standard of quality set by... eugh, who knows what. To be honest, I haven't heard of a more logical or fair way to judge a match. If you don't like that it's me you have to please to get a victory then I'm sad to see you go, but I'm not sure what else you think I should do. So there you go. I hope that helps you in whatever way you can get it to help you. If not, I'm sorry. Them's the breaks. If anything, perhaps the fact that I just spent ten minutes shy of an hour explaining my thought processes on how I judge matches, yours in particular, should tell you how much I think you're an asset to this fed and that you are worth my time. If that doesn't quite do it for you, perhaps I should remind you that I'm stricken with Mono, have to get up for work tomorrow when my spleen could rupture with too much pressure, have been having dizzy and fainting spells at work because of my illness, but I keep on trucking in there so I don't lose my job and I've just cut into my precious, precious sleep time to do the aforementioned explanation. If not, then I'm just going to start booking everybody against cardboard cut-out jobbers so that everyone walks home with fucking smiles on their faces because they win every match. |

Because she holds power in NGIW and it's viewed as a corrupt victory. Same reason people used to get pissy when I was in her position, or even now when I win a match because apparently me and you spend the weekend shopping and sipping one of them flavored coffee things...that is to say, we're pals. Anyways, good show. (insert angry and bitter rant about losing here or something) |

Ah my subtle, viral ad campaign is working. I expect a cheque from Valve and day now. We should go zombie killing together sometime, make a day of it. I'll pack sandwiches. No I won't. Not too surprised by Lesbiana's loss, she has held it for quite a while now and Lucas has become quite the strong character over the past few weeks...months, however long he's been here. So no hard feelings. I'll alter the title sigs when I get a chance. |

First things first, I'm blown away by the fact that I won the Best Roleplayer award. I never win things like that. Best RPer or Wrestler of the Year, those kind of things always allude me and I figure it's just the way of things. There are a lot of talented RPers in all the feds I've been in. I, myself, put in a solid vote for Dai (who I thought was a shoe-in for the award). I tend to win those "Woman" of the Year awards mostly out of lack of competition. Lol. So thanks to everybody who voted for me. I'm really blown away by the win and it means more to me than people might realize something like this means. Really happy to take Feud of the Year with Chester vs. The Rices. I poured a lot into that angle to make it flow and (hopefully) have a good ending. I thought it was a really defining angle for Chester despite not winning in the end. It helped his Jaime obsession, not come to a close, but quiet its rage for a time. Also, The Rices as Most Cohesive Tag Team was a surprise but one I'm happy to win as well. A lot of "whispers" in another fed was always about how "everyone" hated Grant Rice and Jaime Lee, though it's one of the (very) few things that have kept me e-fedding all this time so to get an award (two technically) for them is awesome. Thanks to everyone that voted! Thrilled to have HooLu take the Most Entertaining Storyline/Angle (and Lucas tie for Most Potential in 2010). I'm having a blast RPing Lucas with Horus. Lucas has actually become one of my favorite characters of all time, and I'm sure that's in large part due to this angle. I spent the longest time going back and forth on whether or not to bring this character in, due to fear of him failing and being dropped in a couple weeks. I'm so glad I decided to bring him in. Want to do a quick congrats to Will on winning Most Improved RPer. He got my vote for that one and is one that was probably the most deserving. I hope to see him keep up the fantastic work with Finn that he's been doing. Now, onto the PPV! Lucas becoming Flycore Champion is awesome to see... sort of. I actually have/had two plans to Lucas' storyline here, and Wight's been well aware of that since this match was booked. I'm excited to see where his storyline goes now that he's Flycore Champion, though at the same time I'm a tad disappointed I won't get to see how the version of him losing (yet again) would have played out. I would've had this conflicted feeling regardless of the outcome, so there's no win in that scenario. Always disappointed when you end the title reign of a friend and someone you consider such a strong RPer... though, that last bit gives you an internal "woo-hoo" that you managed to knock off one of the better RPers there is. Super excited to win the Midway Championship with Jaime. The idea to have Jaime challenge Roxie struck me and in a moment I came to realize how much sense it made. Not only did it get Roxie (the champ) on the PPV but also got a major championship defended at a PPV. With the way Roxie's last defense went against Grant, it made too much sense to have Jaime (both Grant's girlfriend and one of the few people in NGIW with a lengthy history with Roxie) throw down a challenge for it. I've really enjoyed the work I've done with Jo recently (particularly the bottle cap game and the Roxie/April RP) so I had a lot of fun building to this eventual match. Surprisingly OK with Chester losing the Red Crown of Rage to Horus. I believe this is Chester's first defense, which is usually disappointing to lose on, however Horus really deserved this and I had a blast with the RPs for this show. The Chester/Lucas dynamic is surprisingly fun and might need some more exploration. The Chester/Horus, however, was equally as surprising and a different kind of fun. I'm hopeful that this angle between Horus and Chester continues on, cause I think all characters involved really seem to fit. Really excited to see the Primetime Players back in NGIW. Drake was definitely missed in his absence, as was both members of the PTP. Like I told Drake on WLM, Carson and Thomas are the perfect tag team cause everybody loves Thomas and then everybody loves to hate Carson. Interesting twist in the NGIW Championship. I think that was a very nicely done way to get both Swytch and hide over, keeping all parties looking strong in the end. Swytch is screwed out of the title, but actually put up a solid defense beforehand. Meanwhile, hide gives it his all only to come up just short yet still out-smart his way into getting what he wants. And things are great anytime Billy is involved. I was equally as puzzled by the Cube. I found Grant's work to be some of the best I've seen from the character, meanwhile Adam didn't really disappoint with his work. A couple miscues here and there, though I think those actually manage to work with the Reno character. All in all, Adam should be thrilled with such a big victory (and it's obvious he is) no matter what anyone else (and himself) thinks, he got the victory and shouldn't feel tainted because of it. Good show, everybody! EDIT: Ah! Sexy Midway sig! Sexy Flycore sig! When did these get so sexy? Oh, just now. Hahaha. I crack myself up. |

As long as you're here, Lita, I'm not a shoe-in for anything. ^_^ So yeah, pleased with the belt, as I am to see Drake back everywhere I look. Nifty show, and I'm in complete agreement with Lits about how it went down too; keeps everyone looking good. Congrats also to Adam, who I'll be looking forward to working something out with, just as soon as I stop trying to think of stuff, and get on with the business of thinking of stuff. |

Hey, and wouldn't you know it? Title histories have finally been updated. Sorry, thought about them earlier in the week but I was tired then and funny story, I knew I'd forget shortly afterward and, well... Anywho, yes the kanji in behind hide's name in the image does mean "hide"...though "conceal" hide as I couldn't find one that menas NGIW Wrestler hide. I tried man, I really did. And yes that would be lightning in Horus' image because...I found it missing something and figured "what the hell? Lightning. Not like anybody uses these as signature pieces so why not?" Not that I'm complaining, just stating the obvious. I skipped images for Jaime, for the obvious, and Lucas because...well I just really hate Lita right now. No, to put it bluntly and obviously (because explaining it too long would confuse even me right now) I figured given the history "why waste time?". Again, that's just the shorthand blunt summarization. Anyway, enjoy. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |
