First off, as I was processing the video I realized I forgot the HTB and NGIW opening bumpers. Whoops. I didn't feel like adding them on when the file was almost done formatting since they're non-essential. We'll live, I promise.

OK. There was a lot I liked about this PPV and a lot I didn't like. If you haven't watched it yet, this thread is going to be spoiler city. You've been warned.

1. The Battle Royale
I did my best to make sure everybody got a pretty decent piece of the action if they RPed. If I didn't get you an elimination I tried to make sure you stayed in the ring for a while. If I didn't do either and you felt you deserved better... well, I'm sorry. I did my best without going over the damn thing with a fine-toothed comb. Yes, the results of the battle royale were fixed from the start. No, I didn't tell you that because people don't roleplay (or don't roleplay well) when they know results are fixed. I've run very successful experiments on the subject. If you feel as though your RPs were wasted, feel free to bitch. Joe's going to pretend to do so anyway, so someone might as well join him.

2. The Flycore and Tag-Team Matches
This is mostly here for Joe's benefit to pre-empt his typical question; the entirety of the booking team felt Kim and [R] did a better job. Their individual reasons are available from each of them, but as they are busy people and/or are rarely on I wish you luck in retrieving them. Not only that, but the polls even pointed in those directions and that rarely happens. As I mentioned, I liked the more personal look at Miko as a character and I was personally on the fence as far as Kim/Roxie went (hence me leaning more on the booking team for that one) but I can't argue with such an unanimous declaration.

3. The Midway Match
The Midway match was GOING to be a similar situation, but I just didn't have time to roleplay PiG due to family crises, roleplaying more important characters, and minor psychological breakdowns. I wanted to hand the Midway to 'Mo 'cuz I felt he's deserved a reward for his efforts, especially with the xXx boys and the Julien/Kim storyline... and now the budding hide/Julien storyline. Originally I was going to breathe life into it as a more long-term battle between Julien and PiG, but after my crap effort I figured "fuck it". Let someone else take the reings.

4. The RCR Match
Finding a decent RCR opponent for Lucas Torres has been a nightmare. Because of some setbacks I had this cycle (namely Black and White) I couldn't do what I wanted to do and begin more appropriate booking instead of the willy-nilly way I've been doing things and I also really didn't want to shoehorn someone in that didn't fit the bill. I had been hoping Blight would still be properly feuding over the title he lost so suddenly and violently, but between Blight's character and problems Blight's handler had in real life it just wasn't meant to be. I even tried to give it one last go, but he didn't show and Diamond got the spot. Dude, Diamond was never gonna win that title even if he wasn't on his way out the door as an active wrestler. Hopefully with the fresh crop of talent coming in Lucas will have a contender soon.

5. The Grudge Match
Again, this was fixed weeks in advance. The whole storyline was a work between Joe and I (mostly Joe). Something else we had wanted to happen I think about a PPV cycle earlier but this and that kept dragging it out against our wills. I felt Crackerjack as the face deserved the win here and it served me especially well since I wanted to break up [R] for 'Jack to obliterate Tier. That RP just before the ME was... surprising to say the least. I guess sometimes the bad guy wins.

6. The Main Event
Uggh. Ugggggggh! UGGGHHHHHH. I hate this fucking main event. I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it. A few weeks ago when I realized I finally had a chance to build toward this Dante/Chester title feud we've been working on as a federation for MONTHS now and I came up with the idea for the battle royale so Dante had a legitimate reason to get near the title aside from just bitching until Brendon gave it to him or riding on old-school star power. Then I wanted to springboard into the one-on-one match at the main event, but as the proper starting point of the feud, not the ending point and not the mid-point. Obviously if Chester won clean, that's sort of the end. Dante was proven wrong and has lost his contendership. If Dante won clean, that's more of a mid-point. Now Chester wants to fight back for his title... then he either wins it or he doesn't, end of feud (unless I felt like dragging it out WWE-style).

So the match needs a dirty finish. The problem with that is... neither man is a cheater. Dante and Chester both have said many times that they don't use their allies as a crutch. God Hand does not interfere on Dante's behalf. [R] does not interfere on Chester's behalf (most of the time)... enter Kursur. Not really an "ally" of Chester's, but as we've seen he's a benefactor and would rather see Chester keep the title (for the time being anyway). All right well, there's a bit of a problem with THAT, too. Dante Coles is ostensibly a heel. He's a jerk. He's an asshole. He doesn't get what he wants and he complains about it. He's cocky. He's a bully. I would never DREAM of trying to futz with the character interpretations I'm given (because I'm not Oni) so I wouldn't try to pigeon-hole Dante (or Chester) into the "face" slot of this feud. Either man being portrayed as an helpless victim just destroys a lot of their heat.

So sure, Dante can get screwed over but he has to do something heelish to retaliate. Boy suggested he destroy Kursur as revenge... but I felt that Kursur being back in the saddle next show and still helping Chester just sort of destroys the heat Dante would get by breaking the little man... it also might give him a little too much face heat since Kursur is such a mega-heel. So instead... you get the result you've got in the show.

Here's the problem with THAT... I HATE the result in the show. I hated it when I wrote it, I hated it when we recorded it, and I hate it now. I talked to 'Mo about it weeks ago and he had no clue. I've thought about it since and I haven't been able to come up with anything better than that. Boy and I argued about it for -- I shit you not -- an HOUR before we started recording last night and still could come up with nothing. So we went with what I hated. I'm sorry if others hate it. I understand your feelings and most likely agree with them. But there just wasn't anything else for me to do.

That being said, thanks to all who roleplayed and I'll have the card up... uh... when I feel like it. Sometime tonight. Most of it's already booked in the back.

Thots?

I was pretty sure Dante was going to win the Battle Royal. Wight and I discussed storylines for Chester quite a few times. Dante and hide were my two picks from the RPs for people that deserved to win it, but that's not to say everybody else that did RP about the Battle Royal did a bad job. It's just kind of hard to topple Mo and Dai with their signature NGIW characters. Actually, the only person that did better than them was that person who RPs Chester Wynn. Now that's a damn good RPer there. That's who really should have won the match, yeah? Heehee. Battle Royal was all kinds of fun. I think my characters got a collection of 4 to 6 eliminations. Four for sure, six if you count April and Kim eliminating each other at the same time. Chester eliminating Giggles was probably my favorite elimination. The Lucas/PiG thing was freakin' awesome. When I suggested PiG feeding off Lucas, I kind of got a visual of Lucas' forearm sliced open by Giggles or Spade and then PiG latching onto the cut while Lucas is just bashing his skull in with punches to get him off. It was pretty funny in my head, but I have to admit I loved that PiG was trying to get a cut on Lucas' lip. That was just too good. LOL. And what the hell is up with Clay Krueger showing up?! Are you serious? I was honestly shocked and surprised by that revelation even though I've noticed Craig lurking around the board. I really didn't expect him to be returning. Can't wait to see what he's got in store for us and I don't think he and I have ever properly worked together. We've tried numerous times, but I think it's always fallen apart due to things out of our control.

Loved the Flycore match. Glad to see Kim win since I really thought Joe had done her in yet again. It's hard as heck to combat Roxie. It seems like Jaime was the only character I had that could take everything Roxie dished out and send it flying back at her. Maybe that's why Roxie is so obsessed with Jaime. :-P Can't wait to see what's in store for Kim as Flycore Champion. I'm guessing Swytch since his creepy ass was out there watching. Maybe Roxie purposely lost to avoid having to deal with Swytch. In which case... that bitch!

Speaking of Roxie, loved the thing between her and April. I thought it was a cute idea when Joe sent it to me and I liked it even more once the details were put together for it.

Glad to see Julien pick up the Midway Championship. I really like the character of Julien and now Kim and Julien are NGIW's power couple with dual titles. Whoo! Not really a whole lot more to say about the match, though. PiG must've been pre-occupied with the deliciousness of Lucas' blood.

Don't have a whole lot to say about the Tag Team Match. Just can't really get into the Evil Girls for some reason. I find Roxie adorably ditzy most of the time. The Evil Girls... I just don't really find any loveable qualities about them. Sorry. Glad to see [R] win for that reason.

What is there to say about the RCR match? I giggled at Lucas being scared and disgusted by the blood. Definitely should've RPed something like that about him, because he would not be excited about getting covered in any kind of blood.

Sad to see [R] split up, but I think it's necessary. [R] needs to get some freshness added to them, and I think this split will help them accomplish that. Also, Chester needs to get away from Giggles for a bit before Giggles can't take it anymore and just straight razors him.

I really wish I could formulate words for the main-event. I don't want to say I hated it, but I don't want to say I loved it either. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by the way it went down, because Chester really doesn't like that he's technically got a loss to Dante Coles now, but at least he is still champion... but he still has a loss to Dante. Words for him are not really formulating as a result and that's really the only problem I have with the match. I'm excited that Chester is in a new storyline and that the Chester/Dante storyline is finally about to take off, I just don't know where to start Chester at in it.

All in all it was a good show, but the description of the way it ran at a right angle is pretty accurate.

New title sigs.

The battle royal fucking ruled. I loved that Finn hung in there 'till the very end, I'm not sure how Priest and Owen got eliminated but a great showing from the Irish boys. Can anybody fill in those holes for me as in who Priest and Owen threw out and who they got chucked out by?

The battle royal was fucking awesome. Honestly, listening to Boy and Wight run down the events of the battle royal, I laughed so hard at some parts, thought some shit was genius (Lucas/PiG and Koji going E. Honda on Logan) fucking loved the match, loved it loved it.

I was surprised by the Flycore match. I thought for sure Roxie had a damn death grip on that title. Glad Wight could fit in the bit with Swytch and also glad Boy can do the Hannibal thing.

I was shocked, fucking shocked that Julien won the Midway. I realized Wight didn't get to RP PiG, but I also RPed late in the week as well. Was it just me or did this RP week seem really fast? Anyway, as far as the brothers go, I don't entirely have them figured out yet, although Logan does play sort of a sidekick role to Julien. Also, Wight finally explaining why it's hard for him to remember which one is which made sense to me... and made me laugh.

This is going to sound weird, I'm sure, and I'll be in the minority probably, but I think I might actually really like the way the ME ended. Not that the finish was something amazing. Honestly, I wish I could have come up with some more pleasing for all parties involved. However, the result leaves the kind of overwhelming bitter taste in my mouth that a late 90's Rock/Mankind title match did. It really only lends itself to be really good fuel for both of them. I'm actually really excited to see what happens with Dante and Chester.

Edit: Also wtf? Three of Lita's characters have titles. Unnecessary!

Edit 2: Should have fucking known it was going to be one of Craig's characters, I see him on the damn board all the time!

A little upset with the end of the Flycore title match, but whatever as Roxie's already cemented her legacy there with the longest reign. And a useless fact some might not know, Roxie also holds the record for the longest Midway reign. Yeah. That surprised me too. So I guess...RCR? The lesbian and the gay? Kind of a queer storyline if you ask me. Feel free to laugh without help from the sign. Though I will say that I'm not particularly a fan of a handler holding multiple titles.

I kinda figured Evil Girls wouldn't walk out with the titles. I was planning another RP but even I thought that we've seen enough of Spice to last...well, one RP cycle. And unfortunately wherever Lilith goes Spice kinda has to follow. Or the other way around, as it were. I find it kinda hard to establish everyones personalities while at the same time trying not to make them seem too much alike. I thought it might've been easy like when I watched "Negima" it was like "Wow, I totally get that all those students are different and it's onl;y been five episodes!" Now that I'm reading it, it's like "Wow, when are they going to introduce this character as it's like the fifth volume". So I suppose these things take time and hopefully people will bear with me until everything is settled. Also, where did the whole discussion of the pronunciation over Gabriel's name come from? Was it just random because to me the "a" has also been like a Canadian's "eh".

BR...kinda sucks that I'm finding out it was fixed, though not too upset as I was going to get in another Craig RP but then didn't. So it all works out I suppose.

Anyway, I figure here would be the best place to explain the sudden influx of RPs. Though before I get to that I will say that even I was confused by everything that went on. It's like somebody took my RPs, began juggling them around, and got bored dropping them on the floor and I was like "good enough, post them as is." I think I kinda hinted to Wight about this earlier about the possibility of being very busy in the near future and therefore wanted to settle things up so I could just set everything on cruise control. Um, I just got promoted at my job and while that's good news for me the good news for everyone else is that chances are in the coming weeks you'll be seeing a lot less of me here. And there. Yes, they get to share in the good times. Anyway, just figured I'd let you all know why there were so many hearts and smilies on the board. Um...this time.

As a final note, I'll have to apologize that I wasn't paying attention to much of the show. Not that my interest level was low, just that The Boy's eyes were glowing. Maybe it's just my computer and I just noticed it about halfway through. Is it a coincidence that I notice right after the tag match? Hells no I say.

Party on,
Joe.

Okay, first of all... what happened to the Boy's hair? I liked his hair last time! What's all this??? Is that a perm you're sporting?? A wave?? Having said that, Wight looks the same so that's comforting. At least I knew I was watching the right show.

Battle royal was a fun listen/watch. Thank you for the kind words about Clay. I think the right people got the spotlight at the end, for anybody that's interested my vote went to hide but I did expect it to be 'fixed' as most battle royals in my experience are. Finn looked especially good, as he should in a BR environment really.

I'll try to listen to the rest of the show tomorrow on a computer that doesn't take years to load vids but I can pretty much work out the results based on this thread. Honestly I don't have much to say about them because as much I've tried to keep up with NGIW, it's not happened despite my best efforts - thus my lurking! Hopefully I'll get chance to check out recent results and broaden my horizons. There does seem to be a good number of different characters knocking around, which is good to see.

Really happy to be back here, loved it last time and thank the Lord I've now got a character I can hear speak. Made the decision to leave TOF about a month ago been waiting to lose the DC. As it approached I kind of hoped the delay on Deadlock would extend to the recording of Salvation so Clay could debut while still DC in a throwback to the Mike Awesome/ECW/WCW moment but alas it wasn't to be. Probably for the best! Will be fun I'm sure.

While I remember, a roleplay at some point for the next show will explain the name difference from what was said to what is on the profile. Or I think the profile explains it. I wanted Clay to have his own NGIW name but for a first appearance he's recognisable as Clay Krueger. Actually that wasn't so difficult to explain.

Oh okay, it must have lagged then because it hiccuped after Gabriel threw out Lilith and then picked up after Conse eliminated Kawazakura. Whoo for most eliminations though! :P

I agree. One handler having three titles is a bit much. Two seems pretty reasonable, especially in a fed like NGIW which until recently was largely comprised of the same six people with multiple characters. I will be doing my best to keep the competition stiff, but we all know she can take it so I don't know how soon one or more of those straps will fall. I could've just said "Roxie wins 'cuz Lita has too many titles" but I feel that diminishes the amount of effort and the quality product Lita puts out for all of her characters. Boy has often advised that this course of action is a good one; if someone else wants to take the title they need only let me know their intentions and step up to the plate. Or, as The Boy put it, "suck less".

Also, sorry about the card. My cable went out last night around 11:30 near as I can tell. We went out to get slushies, came back and it was just GONE. Didn't come back on until 6 AM and I was asleep by then. I have some labor-intensive work to do with the computers today, but when I'm through I'll put some spit and polish on the card and post it. Sorry again about the delay.

I apologize for dropping the ball here. I felt the character of Lucas and the handler were both intellectually challenging and fun to work with. I had full intentions of continuing this feud onwards with other character development issues I had planned bringing them into a what would have hopefully been a satisfying storyline. However, issues did arise that forced me to take a few weeks off. I am back now though, the PPV was hardly a strong showing on my behalf but it allowed me to enter back into the proper mindset to move forward. I thank Minister Wighty for being so patient with me.

Been away for the weekend, so I'm just getting to it now; still fighting the post-festival shellshock.

BR was a blast. Shame to see Graver go, especially after I saw him [along with Diamond & Giggles] last night.

The Boy has it right: Suck Less. Yeah having one person hold three titles is a bit ridiculous but I don't think it would be fair to let that enter into the decision making process.

Result of the ME was what it was. Maybe it was a disservice to Dante, but Chester losing with no build like that would totally suck.
