What a pay-per-view. Blah. I have a lot of thoughts but I don't much feel like typing any more. I'll try to get them all out. First and foremost, thanks to Nir, Dai, Lita, Boy, Mace, and Jay for all they contributed. I really appreciate the assistance/promos/ideas. Secondly, congratulations to all the winners and better luck next time to all the losers. I asked for more of a showing from my crew on a PPV and aside from a few small (and obvious) exceptions I was very pleased with the results. Thing One: The Sex and Violence promos... Despite the fact that we had decided to pass up on an immediate chance to hold the belts again, Boy and I had intended to get actual roleplays done to at least make it LOOK legit. But between weird schedules, freak accidents, League of Legends, SWOTR going free to play, and an impromptu Marvel movie marathon it just didn't happen. So to still make Giggles and Spade's return a big deal we did the promos for the show. Hope you enjoyed. Thing Two: Controversial Decisions. If you ask me, personally, I think in terms of roleplays the Flycore should be Rin's and the Midway should belong to Tara Fox. That's just my opinion, of course, but there you have it. Nir contacted me and informed me of the aftermath of the Midway and that he wanted Zombie Black to retain, so since it's his character that would be taking the fall I honored his wishes. That being the result of the Midway and with the results of the RCR long since in I couldn't possibly consider giving the title to Rin when she's (occasionally) roleplayed by me. It's just... tacky. I mean, it looks REALLY bad on me as a fed-head to be hoarding all the titles like that, even if one or two of them are slated for being axed in the near future. Lastly, I ended the Kennedy/PiG match the way I did because I feel this feud didn't get enough of a blow-off RP war as it deserved. Kennedy had a really good roleplay and I mostly ripped off Moby Dick, so while everyone kept telling me I should win the match (and I'm committed to not second-guessing my own matches for this specific title run) I didn't want PiG to just get the submission and walk away champ. I have something in mind to continue the feud to the next PPV, where we can probably polish it off. On a side note, I was glad to see Tara Fox her usual PPV self. I think we need to develop a term akin to Grant Ricing called "Tara Foxing". Instead of destroying your character's GIMMICK, they destroy the character's SELF-ESTEEM and make them want to quit wrestling and go hide in a hole somewhere. *laughs* Seriously, though, excellent work and interesting twist on that aftermath. I was all set to have Zombie throw the title in the river and quit the federation, but between the aftermath and Erik Holland's impassioned pleas in Will's RP I'm very much willing to stick around and temporarily retire the belt in some other fashion. Hell, with the influx of fair-weather talent and Joe returning maybe there might some actual competition for this thing. Thing Three: Less Controversial Decisions, explained. I farmed out some opinions for the NGIW Championship match because I wanted to see what others thought, but I was pretty sure I had a victor in mind. I farmed out some opinions for the Tag-Team Championship match because Lita cheated and dangled Siryn like a carrot in front of my face. I was too biased to make the call myself, to say the very least. The decision for who should win was still unanimous, but so too was the impression that the SLAughterhouse Three and the Blade Runners were close runners-up. What Joe (and Siryn) had over those two teams was a quality story that played out over the course of several roleplays, whereas each of the other teams only had the one showing. GREAT showings though they were. I don't mean to be offensive, but I didn't think Mace had it in him to be that cohesive. If he could up the productivity at all, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Durand brothers legitimately holding the tag straps in the near future. Same for Spicey's crew, though I'm sure Adam's focus was simply divided with the title match. Speaking of the title match, I don't think anyone would argue too hard that Lucas didn't pull down a victory. Joachim's stuff, though interesting, wasn't quite enough to claim the title for his own. hide's output was fun... but everything beyond that one big sexy promo with all the "heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" stuff seemed a little underwhelming. Bloodbath came the closest to victory, in my opinion, and if the vignette promo had been something more substantial or there had been another roleplay with some real fire in it he might've taken the title. One thing's for sure; Adam did NOT choke, nor was he very far from success at all. Honestly the biggest problem here, in my opinion, is that this is old ground for Bloodbath. He doesn't really have much to say to Lucas (or hide) that he hasn't said before, and Joachim's so wrapped up in his personal storyline that it's a bit hard to wedge the Bastard Butcher into it. After a few days of consideration I think it might be a good idea to bring Bloodbath back into the NGIW title scene when someone he HASN'T had a storied past with is in possession of the belt. Maybe see where this thing with Spicey is going, take a vacation from the character to play with the SLAughterhouse Three on their own for a while, or just kick it in the midcard until the time is right. I know a lot of us (myself and The Boy included) were really hoping the proclaimed Year of the Beard would end with Bloodbath holding the NGIW Championship in a picture perfect happy ending victory, but if I started judging matches on what I'd like to see as opposed to who I think gave a better performance I would not be a very fair GM. Soooooo... yeah. It was a tough decision, but I feel the right call was made. Card'll be up sometime on Thursday. I've got most of it in my head, and a good idea of what most of the titles will be doing come next PPV, but I just don't have it in my knuckles to type up at the moment. Thots? |

The Snacky-Smores Guy

Just in between work and shopping (then much needed sleep) so I'll be quick here with thoughts I've already had over the past couple nights. Firstly, and I would've mentioned this in the request for judges post if it didn't seem too self promoting, but; On time results > Fully written matches My alligator wants results. I actually prefer shorter results, if need be, as opposed to long results and a late show. Nothing against those that write, I know they dedicate a lot of time to their matches (I know first hand, just not lately :P) and they do good stuff but...yeah, I don't know. Like Roxie's match; I can work off of what's been written there. But again, that's me. Secondly, sorry for the actual lack of match mention in my RPs. It was a long work week, then Monday I was starting to come down with a flu. Which reminds me; I'm sure some of you already know this, if you feel like you're going to throw up and you're not quite there, eat something like vanilla. I say vanilla, because it worked for me. Something else might work better for you. Best taste in my mouth following, and during, a throw up I've ever had. Hopefully that doesn't come out wrong. Anyway, one of the things I wanna work with on Roxie this run around is making her a little more career oriented. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

Yeah, I'm with Jo, personally. I'd rather have an on time show, than a show that's fully written out but takes forever to get up. And, personally, I don't need a twelve page match to feel special. I felt, having read the entire show, Last Chance's matches were overall a decent length for each of them. So, yeah, I had a few tricks up my sleeve for this PPV. Roxie/Jessica went pretty much how I pictured it, and I was pleased to see that. The ending synched up well with my little segment. Midway, there was a reason I was keeping Tara silent, that promo and this match were it pretty much. I was a little unsure of how the promo and my ideas for the match would be received, though glad to see they're well liked so far. Hopefully no one called that ending. RCR was fun to read, and I thought the ending was interesting, and surprising. Though not surprising in another sense too, as I thought something might happen, some way one of them would win, to continue on the feud. Looking forward to it, because I think the storyline/feud has potential not yet tapped into. Though I thought the Kennedy & PiG offerings were good for the PPV. Flycore went the way I figured it would, as I know how Wighty feels about titles being put on himself. Still, it was a fun little ride while it lasted and it gave Sakura's title defense some substance to it. NGIW title match was a match, from a judging standpoint, that I didn't envy Wighty over and reminded me why I'd rather stay away from the behind the scenes position. Felt everyone did well, though admittedly at least with Prince and Jay, there was a factor making them a non-factor for the decision. Don't feel like this match really hurt anyone either, even Bloodbath. Dude got taken down while fighting three other guys and took some heavy hits, makes him look good/tough. The S&V promos over the course of the show were fun. They were a little random, and I was a little surprised to see them, but I thought they were good. It was a nice way to sort of get a feel for what they've been doing and it helped sort of introduce them to anybody new. Which I think is pretty much Jay. I was curious who the referee was going to be, I had two theories, and this was one of them. I'm somewhat happier to see it be this one too, as it was a fun little addition and wink & nod to the Cube's legacy. Also makes the reference Joe made to Tier/Dante in the Cube seem like foreshadowing. Ha. The match itself was intense and I enjoyed a bunch of the spots. Though I'd have to argue that the most notable spot, for me, came from the Blade Runners. I wondered what those rascals were up to when they ran off, a cherry picker? That made me pop more than anything else. Especially the ridiculous, in a good way and not a I'll publicly state what I PM'ed to Wighty, for some reason I had gotten it in my head that this Friday was the deadline. And, with how work's been, I figured I had an entire week to churn stuff out still. Come to realize Sunday night, nope, deadline's Monday, dumb dumb. So, sorry folks for the RP puke and nearly aiding in potentially making the main event underwhelming. Like I told Wighty when he was asking for opinions, if I had to choose anyone besides Joe to win this, it would have been SLAughter House or Blade Runners. Felt both did well and both members actually showed up with the match in mind. And, I'll echo what Wighty said about Mace. I haven't seen alot from Mace, but what I had, I was a little taken off guard by the Blade Runners RP, in a good way, because it was really good. I think if you can keep up that level of quality, the Blade Runners can become a real threat to anybody. I had fun though overall RP'ing Joe's situation going into the match. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do, if I was going to have him fly solo, bring in somebody for him, or try to lure in one of my old buddies with the offer. I was playing it much like how Joe said he'd be fighting in the Cube, loose and fast. Eventually went with the idea that managed to get up off the ground, and potentially has some interesting implications. [size0]P.S. Yay, Joe won. |

I feel bad that I don't really know what to say about the show. It was a good show and not having a lot to say feels like I'm insulting the quality of it. But I just don't know what to say because the matches all went how I expected them to or at least how I wanted them to. It's cool to see Roxie back and I promise you Jo that I'm not blowing off your idea. I've just been a bit busy with the semester coming to an end and having to fight tooth and nail to keep Lucas' title in his grasp. We'll get your idea together very soon. I'm thinking it sounds like it might be a good Christmas dealie. I'm sad to see Jessica Knight go if this isn't a storyline. She's super entertaining. The Sex & Violence vignettes were very well done and accomplished everything they set out. I agree with Dai on the Slim Jim line. It's awesome having Giggles and Spade back, I just wish we would've been able to see them roleplays from them to have really upped the bar with the tag titles. Still, I'm happy with how the match came out and super thrilled to see that Siryn was picked as Joe's partner and they left with the belts. To be 100% honest that idea came to me right before I wrote and posted the RP but I don't regret it. I'm feeling real nostalgic lately so I'm excited to have both Kennedy and Siryn in NGIW. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised to see Zombie/Tara continuing. I really thought that storyline was starting to wind down so that was a bit of a surprise. I actually am surprised to see that Tara is still around, if I'm being honest. I really thought for sure that the character was winding down which meant the storyline was as well. So this is pretty interesting. I haven't the slightest clue what Wight and I are doing with the RCR storyline but I'm having fun just winging it. I really didn't expect Kennedy to win at all as I put all my attention onto Lucas and the NGIW title. Of the two belts, I'd prefer Lucas keep the NGIW than Kennedy pick up the RCR for a variety of reasons but nothing relating to the importance of the belts. I just wanted so badly for Lucas to not be a hotshot champ that does nothing with the belt before dropping it, so I'm good with this and anxious to see what's going on with PiG. The Flycore title was what I expected it to be. I feel like I should care more about two girls fighting over a belt, but I just haven't had the time to keep up with why these two were even fighting for the belt in the first place, sadly. It should be no surprised that I am ecstatic with the NGIW title result. I started to get worried there towards the end when all those RPs started popping up. Luckily Lucas is probably my most fightingest character so it was relatively easy (or at least not excruciatingly difficult) to come up with retorts. I was a little disappointed that hide didn't seem on point. I don't really feel like I beat hide in this match because Dai didn't bring the fire he usually has for these kinds of matches, but I enjoyed what he put out and it was fun to see hide and Lucas in a match together. If I had to comprise a list of my favorite NGIW characters (past and present) I would put these two towards the very top and it was kind of a surreal moment for me even reading what Wight wrote with them squaring off. I particularly loved how they pretty much came out of the match at a stalemate as far as who is the better athlete. Lucas has that Most Talented Athlete x2 credit to him but hide is Mr. NGIW and it would be weird to really have anybody out-wrestle him, so I thought that was really well done. I am super intrigued by the latest turn of events for the Prince/Joachim. I think it's such an interesting character development and I really enjoy reading it. I might be a tad bit biased as there's a lot of Lucas to the Joachim character right now, but what the heck I'll be biased. I love reading Joachim and I love see where he's heading and I love that nobody knows where he's truly coming from and where he's headed. I'm enjoying it a lot and I look forward to what Jay has in store for us. Poor Bloodbath. The only thing I hate about Lucas winning is that Bloodbath didn't. I feel really horrible that the Year of the Beard never actually came to fruition and that Lucas' reign is unintentionally at fault for that. It's not even really about Bloodbath for me so much as it's about Adam. I know how passionate he gets about his work and how a loss like this can sometimes really kick him in the teeth and no matter of telling him it'll be okay and that the stuff was still really good is going to fix the fact that he lost. But what I love the most about Adam is that he's a trier. Everybody gets down when they lose, especially when they lose one that they want so bad but Adam has a great habit of using that to fuel him for a comeback and I really hope he doesn't lose that. I sort of agree with Wight about pulling back Bloodbath for a short spell and focusing on the SLAers or even bring back that tatted-up, faux hawk-wearing, handsomest boy in wrestling that I really enjoy. If the Flycore and Midway are both going to stick around, I think the Hype could be real entertaining there or even sticking his nose in the RCR or tag divisions some how. |

this pay per view was fun, good way to cap off the year. And Nir, NGIW awards typically happen on the first PPV of the year, next year that will probably be Burn. |
