Sorry for how long this show took to get up. It was freakin' HUGE and Nir worked really hard to get it in before midnight. So big thanks to Nir for writing such a monstrous show! Also, thanks to everyone who sent in segments and for everyone's efforts RPing for this show. I REALLY enjoyed this show. I haven't read all of it, but Know what happens obviously and I think overall this was a really solid show and a great anniversary event! El Valiente vs. Zer01 Dark Match – written by Nir Result was a no-brainer. Will didn't manage to get an El Valiente RP up. On the plus side, Zer01 is on quite the roll. Lol. Claire de Loon vs. Vi Dark Match – written by Nir Fair effort from Adam on Claire, but Wight's efforts with Vi this cycle were undeniable. Parker Kane Promo – written by Lita This was an idea that Will and I cooked up to get Nightmare on the show where he belonged. Parker Kane vs. Nightmare – written by Will It is truly an honor to have my character's ass kicked by Nightmare. No lie. Scott Kaiser & Lioncock Segment – written by Nir (and Wight?) Brilliant segment to set up the match. I love that this actually had a build-up to this segment and then the match. Amazing! Captain Tremendous Interviews – written by Lita Tried to fill the show out with segments as much as I could. These were both just short little things to do just that. Midway Contendership Battle Royal – written by Nir A little surprised by the no-shows in this match, to be honest. Oh well, we'll see what happens in the future. When it came to a winner, it was tough to call. Everyone that I asked for thoughts from gave me two to three people that had reasons to claim this. Ty Burna, Cody Mcginnis, and Terrance Knight were among the contenders but the one thing all the thoughts had in common was that Khalil-Rashid Abdullah was one of those deserving of the win. In all honesty, I wanted to go with Terrance Knight because I absolutely loved what he had this week. But I don't want to take anything away from KRA because his stuff has been very good and continues to be very good. I can't argue that he deserved this. I am definitely excited to see what he and all the other new characters have to offer us. Las Hermanas da la Noche & El Hijo Del McConnaigh Challenge – written by Nir I asked Nir to do this favor for me so that the match could go the way it did. Thanks a ton for this! Tier vs. Lioncock What would an anniversary show be without the legendary Tier? Joe Stanton's Harem Segment – written by Nir & Lita With all these women under one roof, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do this segment. I think it was hilarious... and a little tragic too. Nathaniel Alexander vs. Stephen J. Eversol – written by Nir This match was supposed to be something entirely different, but Nathan and Steve have been so impressed by the match Nir has written for them that they really wanted an actual match to take place and I can't disagree with them. Big thanks to Nir for taking on another match on top of the ridiculous card I had already put in front of him. The result of this was obviously storylined. Blue Label Society & [R] Segment – written by Nathan, Steve, and Wight (right?) I have to say that I am very excited about this new angle. When it was first presented to me, I wasn't sure if it would actually see the light of day but I am anxious to see what happens. I think it'll be great for both sets of teams. I can see this helping Nathaniel and Stephen to develop in NGIW while give [R] something physical to focus on. Captain Tremendous vs. Priest – written by Nir This match was storylined and hence the reason that the contender's battle royal was on the same show. Khalil-Rashid Abdullah Backstage – written by KRA I am really liking this storyline that you're doing with him and am anxious to see where this is all going. Jaime Lee announces third partner for match – written by Lita Kain was aware that the 10th anniversary was happening and kept making comments here and there about how he wished he had time to do something with Grant. That's all I needed as the green light to fit him into the show. Big thanks to Nir for allowing that to happen. April Lynn, Jaime Lee, & Grant Rice vs. Masked Trio – written by Nir Obviously storylined. I really wish I had done more with April and Jaime, though, to be honest. I had so much fun RPing Jaime for this cycle. Without wasting a moment, Jo contacted me about Roxie running into Jaime as soon as she was announced for the show. As much as Jaime can't stand her, I have to admit that it wouldn't have been the same if she came back and didn't run into Roxie. And then that Adam Wilson RP. I had so much fun writing that with Adam. I miss writing with Adam like that. I did enjoy the one RP I did with April and Jaime but it felt like a start to something more than a solo RP. Oh well. The Loon 2.5 vs. Uncle Sam – written by Nir You gotta get the Loon on an NGIW anniversary show. Considering he made a career out of destroying Santa Claus in snowball fights, I couldn't resist celebrating the Fourth of July in true NGIW fashion with Loon. Siryn, Kim Coulter, and Ghost Segment – written by Lita & Wiggs This was just a fun little random segment that I came up with off the top of my head to get Ghost on the show. I got a hold of Wiggs and he OKed the idea and gave the promo his approval and added his special touch to Ghost. I don't think it's what you would've expected as a Ghost appearance but I think it was fun and liked it. Astro Blue Backstage Interview – written by Lita Another segment I wrote to fill out the show. Mr. Intensity, Chester Wynn, PiG, and Kursur Segment – written by Boy, Wight, & Lita It's so awesome to write Chester with Mr. Intensity again! I really really miss these two. I didn't realize how much until this segment got written. Mr. Intensity & Chester Wynn vs. PiG & Kursur – written by Nir As you can probably guess from the theme of the show, this one was already storylined since it was unannounced. Joe Stanton vs. Crackerjack – written by Nir It was fun seeing Crackerjack back (is he sticking around or...?) and Jo did some good stuff with him. But it's hard to argue with the effort put forth by Nir with Joe this week. Nicolette vs. Spade vs. Roxie Stevenson vs. Bloodbath McGrath – written by Nir Good GOD how is this not the most competitive division in NGIW? No offense to Brandie, but how she managed to be champion for so long is beyond me. That's just a comment on how the competition has been for this lately. Every time Nicolette has put the belt on the line recently I've had the hardest time deciding the result and so has everyone I asked! Congrats to Nicolette on a fantastic reign that Brandie certainly owned up to more times than not. All three challengers were incredible this cycle. The judges I asked all picked Spade as the winner. Though, one of the judges called Roxie's last RP "very good". The two judges were not fans in the least of it and actually stated that it soured them on her work this cycle. The consensus on Bloodbath was that one more RP could've swung things into his favor. With that all factored in, the general consensus from the judges was Spade. Adam Wilson vs. Brian Mauler – written by Nir Obviously another storylined match. This was actually supposed to happen last PPV cycle but I screwed it up by doing Lucas' retirement storyline. Sorries, Adam! But thanks for letting me put Astro in the storyline and I have had SO MUCH fun working with the Bad Guys. I have a feeling that Mauler is gone? Let me know about that. Also, thanks to Nir for re-writing this match last minute. For some reason, people didn't seem to notice this was Last Man Standing. Huh. Trial by Wire Match – written by Nir Another match that was harder than hell to decide. I actually didn't even give Nir the results until after all the others were sent. KAMIKAZE Pro Sekigun were picked as the winners by one judge, another judges felt they were strong contenders and wouldn't have argued their victory. The Red Pirates were surprisingly runner-up to one judge. Not sure how that happened. hide/Hikou were picked by one judge and runner-up by another judge. [R] left three of the judges yearning for more. Then there was the Spectre Girls... well, one judge picked them as the winner. The other judges disagreed with the sentiment. There is no arguing that effort was put in. There is no arguing that the characters are developing. And there is certainly no arguing that there's direction with them. However, Wight and I are currently having issues with the fed as a whole when it comes to this very situation. It's not just with Jo, everybody writes what is fun for them. Everybody writes these character development arcs that are fun for them and anyone else they include, but those not involved generally don't enjoy them. I've experienced this myself with my own character development arcs. The issue arises when you have to figure out how to handle judging these. Obviously the writer is having fun, obviously they are putting in effort, and everyone here is a fantastic writer. But you can't reward EVERYONE for having fun and you don't want to punish people for writing what interests them otherwise what reason do they have to stick around? So this is a situation Wight and I are intending to tackle this very evening... I hope. When it came to the result, it was a tough call. Honestly, I went with MY gut and chose who I was most entertained by. hide and Hikou. Initially I feared that my involvement in that duo might have caused biased by I did not receive argument from the other judges when I voiced my interest in their work. Heck, one of them even picked them as their runner-up choice. So yeah. There you have it. |

WOW. The ppv was awesome. Huge thanks to Nir not only for basically writing the entire thing (minus the individual segments for other characters) but also for writing the full Nathaniel/Stephen match. The match turned out awesome just like the previous matches. Unlike usual, I actually felt pretty good about the BLS introduction segment when Steve and I wrote it and then when Wight added his part for [R] it made it even better, I thought. I'm definitely looking forward to this storyline. It was awesome to see all the legends make their returns for the show. The return of Nightmare and the ensuing match against Parker Kane was great as was Tier vs. Lioncock. All the other segments and matches were awesome, especially the Trial by Wire match to cap things off. Awesome show, everyone! |

Disappointed I didn't win, but at the same time I really had little to no time to put an RP together this past week, so to get to look dominant definitely made me feel good about a hastily put together RP. Overall X was an awesome show, excellent work everyone. Not sure where I'm going from here, but I definitely need to come up with something other than float aimlessly. I do better when I have some meat to chew on for an RP rather than talking randomly. |

Parker Kane vs. Nightmare – written by Will Amazing match, Will! I'm surprised that Parker was given a great showing against Nightmare, so thanks for that. Definitely was not necessary but appreciated. I loved how much Nightmare's offense beckoned back to his earlier times in NGIW. It really felt like a special appearance match that it was meant to be. Midway Contendership Battle Royal – written by Nir Great battle royal. I know from experience that these matches are incredibly difficult to write and make everyone look good. I think everyone got what they put in RP-wise in this match and thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Like I said up above, TK was my pick but I can't disagree with the support KRA had from those I asked for thoughts from. I don't think it was the wrong choice at all. Tier vs. Lioncock - written by Nir Honestly, I was a little surprised that Lioncock got in any offense. I loved how it was written as a shock to everyone too. I loved how Bill got his revenge on Lioncock and I half-expected him to throw Lioncock in there for the shortest match in NGIW history but it actually allowed Tier to do more than one of his legendary moves so that was awesome. Nathaniel Alexander vs. Stephen J. Eversol – written by Nir That was violent. A perfect conclusion to the first part of this storyline, I think. It made both Nathanial and Stephen look dangerous without harming the other which made the pairing all the more logical. Great stuff and I can't wait to see the next step in this angle. Captain Tremendous vs. Priest – written by Nir That was a fun little match. I'm having a lot of fun writing Tremendous and I'm glad that he's got a belt. Just not sure how long he'll get to keep it with all this new blood gunning for it. Hehe. April Lynn, Jaime Lee, & Grant Rice vs. Masked Trio – written by Nir Another fun special appearance match. I'm happy all three got their finishers in there so that was fun to read. If I'm being perfectly honest, I would've loved to write this match... but I didn't have the time. I probably should've MADE the time so it would've been one less match for Nir to worry about. But what's done is done and Nir did a good job with it. Only thing, Hijo should ditch his mask. :p The Loon 2.5 vs. Uncle Sam – written by Nir LMAO!!!! For the record, I did not tell Nir to bring Santa Claus into this match but holy cow that was awesome! I seriously sat at my computer laughing while people looked at me like I was crazy. That was freakin' brilliant! Loon getting his ass kicked by Santa Claus and Santa's Uncle Sam... this just screamed classic NGIW hijinx and then damn Juggalethal shows up! Another brilliant move that I never thought of. I absolutely loved every second this! Especially the part where Loon kicks their ass and remains undefeated in this hilarious life-long rivalry. It almost reminds me of the Peter Griffin/Chicken rivalry from Family Guy. Haha. Good God this was a fun read! Mr. Intensity & Chester Wynn vs. PiG & Kursur – written by Nir Hm. Well, I loved what Chester did. I loved what Intensity. I even liked what PiG did. I feel like Kursur could've done a move before being flattened by Club, though. That would be the only complaint I had with the way this match was written. Other than that, it was great having Intensity and Chester teaming together. Shame they never got the chance to be in the tag division together. OMG! Next big tag title feud: Intensity & Chester vs. HooLu vs. Los Hermanous Tremendous. Hehe. Joe Stanton vs. Crackerjack – written by Nir Ick! You'd think being in NGIW as long as I have that I would get accustom to these bloody matches but... nope. They're still gross. Hehe. Both men looked great in this match, though. I thought it was written perfectly to the efforts both put in this week. Nicolette vs. Spade vs. Roxie Stevenson vs. Bloodbath McGrath – written by Nir Hey, I booked this bloodbath so I can't get too squeamish about it. Still, it's a pretty gross match type. Hehe. I was happy to see everyone get a moment in this match. I don't want Boy to take the finish against his ability as the "dirty finish" had more to do with Adam's SLAughterhouse Three storyline than the RP effort that made Spade the new champ. Adam Wilson vs. Brian Mauler – written by Nir I loved the way that Astro was written in this match. I'm gonna say that he demonstrated the eye poke on Mauler and slapped Adam's balls. Yeah, that's what Astro would've done. Hehe. Sorry to Nir that this match had to be altered last minute. It was a great standard match, though. Hehe. Trial by Wire Match – written by Nir Incredible match! Everybody looked good, I felt, and even with knowledge of who was going to win it was suspenseful. I often found myself wondering how those close calls were going to fall through. And hide's win was awesome-tastic! |

Dude, I... am almost rendered speechless by how much I enjoyed that show. But I will try my best First off Nir is a machine, he's a writing cyborg, I'm convinced. That or his patients are getting terrible care. Parker Kane vs. Nightmare – written by Will NIGHTMARE!!! God I love an entrance like that, where just from thinking about it you can see the whole thing so clearly. Damn good trial by fire for Parker, he held up well. So good to the the Knight again. Midway Contendership Battle Royal – written by Nir This was a fun match to read through, Lita said it best, everybody got out what they put in. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Tier vs. Lioncock That was a lot more two sided a match than I would have expected, I think it made the whole thing better though. I just want to say that the pre match segment had my ass in stitches, Lioncock is always priceless. Nathaniel Alexander vs. Stephen J. Eversol – written by Nir I really liked this whole match series actually, this one just as much as the rest. I like that it was all leading to the Blue Label society (Awesome name BTW) and can't wait to see where the [R] thing leads. I do so love feuds that involve [R] Captain Tremendous vs. Priest – written by Nir This match was perfect for what it needed to be, it moved things in the priest storyline along and helped showcase the good Captain April Lynn, Jaime Lee, & Grant Rice vs. Masked Trio – written by Nir Memory lane, thy name is this match. The Rices man, they shred people. I liked this one cause it felt like it belonged right where it was on the card, a fast paced, real showcase match that lent the whole show energy. The Loon 2.5 vs. Uncle Sam – written by Nir BWAHAHA "Uncle Sam and Santa Claus are double teaming Loon!" This match was pure Funinium. no seriousness was to be had here and that means all is right with the world. Mr. Intensity & Chester Wynn vs. PiG & Kursur – written by Nir I loved this match so much it probably sped up Intensity's return by a good bit. As the person who handles Both Kursur and Intensity I have to say I loved how their interaction went down, Kursur is a tool, and in a match like this he can best be put to use by having the giant smoosh de burd, Kursur doesn't lose anything by getting flattened and it makes the soon to be returning face look good, thumbs up. Joe Stanton vs. Crackerjack – written by Nir This was the blowoff this feud deserved (must not make Dark Knight joke), it was violent it was passionate, and it was surprising, I wholeheartedly approve. Nicolette vs. Spade vs. Roxie Stevenson vs. Bloodbath McGrath – written by Nir Super excited about the win, mega excited 'bout my new shine, more excited that the match was every single bit as gory and glorious as I thought it should be. This was what I had ho[ed to see when this match got booked. Oh and Lita, I far too egotistical to take a dirty finish as a mark against my abilities ;). Adam Wilson vs. Brian Mauler – written by Nir Not the match I would have expected for X, but definitely a damn good match, Nice wrap up to the feud and a good way to make the champ look strong going into a rough next title defence. Trial by Wire Match – written by Nir Dude this match was pure chaos, I love that Announcer The Boy just straight up gave up at a certain point, exactly what I would have done there. Full disclosure, I had the Spectre Girls on top of my list for this match (I know I know, a match hide is in and I don't blindly start screaming about raptor saviors and how hide is god? I'm as surprised as the rest of you) but I think Lita hit the nail on the head with what caused the results to go down how they did, hoping I can help there, I have all these fancy mod powers, I should do something to merit them. |

Short answer; no. There's nothing for him I can think of aside from him bouncing around from random match to random match. Also...a little confused with the character development thing. First, not that I'm saying I should have won, just wondering something because I can recall a match or two where CD won against actual promos. That, and maybe I'm misreading it, but having the Spectre Girls singled out like that makes it seem I didn't write an actual match promo. Also sucks people had the sour taste with my last Roxie promo. I liked it. *sigh* Oh well. Last edit. Sorry. Sorry if the response sounds harsh in any way. It's not my intention to dampen anyone's mood or anything. If that's how it comes out to be. If not, sorry for any misconception. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

The Spectre Girls weren't singled out. My post clearly states that with the words "It's not just with Jo". It wasn't a matter of character development vs. actual promos. Everybody knows that I don't judge that way. Like you, I obviously enjoy writing character development stuff. The problem, as I stated above, is how to judge that objectively when the opinion of what is "entertaining" is subjective. It's very rare that the most entertaining RP can be decided by one person and leave the entirety of the board in full agreement. Instead, we go with a majority vote but it still leaves people unhappy or frustrated. It's something Wight and I discussed at length last night to try and rectify this moving forward. We both left last night feeling positive about NGIW's future as it relates to this topic so I hope that things will improve from here on out for everyone. |

Absolutely amazing show! Big thank you to all of the writers this week you all outdid yourselves. The match with Eversol and Alexander was great in setting up the intro of BLS and then the piece Wight added was great in creating tension and a great competitor. I'm excited about finally getting to work alongside Nathan and being able to work a storyline against Wight. I definitely marked out with all the returns. Mutha flippin' Nightmare, Tier and Siryn! Plus the mentions of 2Dope and Dante Coles. Dat main event.... Great show! |

Just so I don't come across as nothing but a jerkass, given my last response, I did enjoy working with Wight, Boy, and Lita the part period. The early Vi/Eve stuff was especially fun, considering I had gotten to the halfway point of Deathnote by then. Also may explain Lilith nibbling her thumb. I like how Lilith is slowly changing more and more with each interaction she makes with Spade. While I enjoyed working with Lita, I don't think I liked the Jaime/Roxie bit. Mainly because I think it ended too soon. To the point even where I was tempted on having Roxie sort of stalk Jaime. But figured that's not Roxie's take on getting a friend. Anymore. Oh well, maybe at the twentieth anniversary they can form a tag team. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

I was waiting to post till hearing back what everybody else thought of the show...Welp, here we go. The Nightmare surprise I was aware of, though it was still neat to see. The character was before my time but I've still gone back and read his matches, read his RPs, so I know who he is. It was neat to see and served it's purpose. Few weeks before X, after Lita and I started really discussing the ideas of getting legends onto the show, I approached Wighty with an idea. It wasn't anything too special, just a way to get Tier onto the show in more than a officiating capacity. This segment was part two of the set-up and I felt it went about as well as it could, with Kaiser trying to be a nice guy & Lioncock being oblivious to who he was talking to. The Tremendous segments before and after the battle royale weren't anything super special, but I liked them. They helped kind of make the new people already feel more apart of the fed. And, help set-up a potential issue between Tremendous & KRA going into their title match. The battle royale, honestly, I wasn't sure how I did with it. I tried to play off a bit on how the RPs had gone, with TK & KRA having an issue and Derek having an issue with Ty. As well as I tried to make everybody that RP look as good & get some spotlight as I could. In some cases, this meant more emphasizing their character traits, like with Ryan Campbell, than necessarily being an ultimate bad ass. Lita lamented over the fact she had no sirens to book opposite Jaime & April, which is when I brought up The Lioncock/Tier match had a single purpose, putting Tier over, while also having a theme that's been a running one with Lioncock. If he put his vanity & pride aside, he could be a halfway potentially threatening wrestler. So, that's why Lioncock hit one move in the match and then proceeded to flush his chance at turning the tide down the drain. Another segment Lita approached me about, I admit, I was initially hesitant to agree to it before she explained the idea more fully. She wrote the mass majority of it, I barely did anything aside from a few bits here & there. It was fun regardless, and as she said, a bit tragic of a segment. As I think the participants stated earlier in this thread, the rubber match was originally not scheduled to happen. Because of this, I kind of threw together it last minute without a whole lot of ideas compared to the other matches. Glad that they liked it at least. I was somewhat aware of the segment aftermath, due to Lita telling me I didn't have to write the match initially. I liked it, and I like the idea of the two working together as a team. Adds even more depth to an already pretty impressive tag team division. And, their shtick is a little different compared to most of the other more cocky heelish wrestlers on the roster. [R]'s involvement I think is a pretty strong foil for them too. I was told ahead of time what to do with the Midway title match. I'm not sure if I succeeded in doing exactly what was asked of me, but I hope it was serviceable. Lita didn't tell me outright to do it, but considering the last show's events, I thought it best to add the bits with Aimi during the match too. Furthering that plot point as much as possible. Trios match, well, I've never written Grant or Jaime before, so hopefully I didn't botch that. I tried to throw in a lot of tag team style wrestling in the match, and a lot of luchaish style stuff, despite Grant not being much of a wrestler like that. Basic idea, besides highlighting Team Rice, was the "rudos" manage to take advantage of Jaime's ring rust only for I'm pleased to see people liked the Loon match as much as they did. It was initially pitched to me as more or less a throw away match to highlight Loon. Guess you could argue I took the ball with it and ran. Santa doing a run in seemed logical to me, and making Sam his uncle added an extra layer to it, I felt. Then while considering how Loon would bounce back to win & reading his bio, Juggalethal sprang to mind. I figured nobody would mind his cameo, and there you go. The Siryn, Ghost and Kim segment was fun, Lita had hinted at it to me earlier in the week but it didn't sound as a definite at the time. As I told Lita, I'm probably the only person who felt a little bad for Kim. Though she did make her bed in this case. Only real complaint I have is that, and this just might be Firefox, Ghost's and Kim's coding are identical...so it was a little hard to read & follow. I kept getting Kim's voice in my head when I'd be reading Ghost's dialogue. The Astro segment helped build up the NGIW title match and I liked that, in a way, it allowed Lucas his own little special segment on the night. Even if only by being remembered by Zane and Grant Rice. I've always liked Intensity, so when I heard he was coming back for the show, I was excited. I've always liked Chester too, so when I heard he was actually coming back for the show, I was equally excited. PiG I liked seeing back...albeit I was confused, as I could've sworn the stip to his RCR loss was him being banned from NGIW...maybe it was just being fired. Or, maybe anniversary events are like ONS style events, it's a hand wave to such laws. Going into the match my main focus, besides trying to highlight the three returning figures, was to highlight Intensity. As I was told he was coming back eventually, possibly soonish and felt he had the most to benefit from a strong showing. Also, by talking to Lita, it sounded like she wouldn't mind it being more Intensity's show. That all said, I did try to give Chester some moments & PiG as well. Kursur I felt Boy likely wouldn't mind getting that treatment, partially because it was to his own other character. Also because I feel, and perhaps I'm wrong & Boy would disagree with me, Kursur is a character not unlike a heel Punk circa SES or a heel Jericho circa his WHC reigns. He can take a loss, even getting destroyed, and immediately bounce right back from it the next week & look credible. Much like how he can go from camp to imposing in his nature. Barbed wire match, basic idea was to continue the theme Jo and I were kind of going with throughout the feud, a horror movie. And, this was the final scene/fight/whatever with the creature of the flick. So, like prior, Jack dominated and abused Joe rather violently. With Joe trying to will himself back into it and eventually somehow managing to take down the beast while half dead himself. The RCR match was one of the few where I tried to think of some ideas and themes for it, as I'm known to do, in the cycle leading up to writing it. But nothing was really coming to mind. It wasn't until I was writing that ideas started flooding out. Not sure how good it is, but the idea was to try and make everyone look good. Nicolette somehow bouncing back from a brass knuckles shot to the jaw, Roxie dominating yet being Roxie & forgetting to focus on her bucket till the last second. Spade being...well, Spade and giving Bloodbath a new lease on life as a top singles talent after being in the SLAughterhouse for so long. Also tried to implement a lot of story elements, Bloodbath & Roxie both having claims for deserving another shot potentially during Spade's reign. Spicey screwing Bloodbath to help set-up the aftermath Triad requested. Spade's continual neutral stance on his [R] comrades being his opponents, potentially causing some light friction in [R]. Two main ideas going into the NGIW title match, the first was a request from Lita to have Astro breed tension in the match. Not sure if I succeeded in that, but there you go. The second was to avoid it being an outright squash match. Making Mauler look arguably on par with Hype, if not possibly only because he was more outright cheating. With the eventual story being Hype showing who the superior athlete is & going berserk on Mauler to really sell him as a killer during his championship reign. I was quietly debating how I wanted Joe to announce that he was cashing in his contendership. Thought about a more verbal segment, even thought about saving it. But I thought it would make for a more dramatic & interesting scene to have it play out as it did post-NGIW title match. Hopefully Triad didn't find it out of character for Hype to react in the way he did. The main event. The main idea was...chaos, really. I tried to focus on some story elements leading up to the match and setting up potential threads for after it. Tried to put over that things aren't perfectly harmonous between the BFO & the Pirates. Tried to make the Spectre Girls look good and [R] as well. With [R] being tit for tat with the champions, often times getting an advantage over them till Aizawa or Shitto injected themselves. Also tried to re-establish hide, as Lita felt he had been getting the raw end of the deal unintentionally during the PPV cycle leading up to the match. Naturally would've liked to retain, but I can't argue with the results. Though guess my curse with titles continues. Ha. Yeah, think that's everything. |
