So, slowly but surely I'm losing inspiration for most of my characters. Vi was brought in for a specific storyline and she's still having fun with that, but she's not exactly a powerhouse within the fed. When I'm not writing her casually (read: with Eve) she takes a lot out of me and is hard to run. Giggles has done what he always does and decided he's done cutting promos for a while. Long-time residents around here might recall me saying he's "left my head" for a while, which is what has happened. He'll come back, but I have very little control over his character in my head. I'm looking forward to this shindig with hide Kitazawa, but I can't comment on Graver's stability within the fed after that's over. It's not so much that I don't have storylines for my characters... I've been approached several times with several good ideas as to what to do with them, but I think it's more that I've expended everything these characters can say or go through emotionally... at least for now. So I dunno. I feel like it's time for something new, but everything I come up with falls flat before I can even finish a character bio. Any thoughts? Stuff you'd like to see that hasn't worked for you but might work for me? Ideas that make sense for the kinds of characters I play? Reply here or hit me up in PM, 'cuz I love roleplaying but I'm just out of juice for the stuff I already have. |

I've always enjoyed your Fresh Blood competitions. Maybe you need to just throw together some basic character-types you want to play and see what develops? |

I haven't been around these parts for very long so I'm not sure if this suggestion would work or not but I personally have always enjoyed seeing this guy around. |

My suggestions would be Freemonte or Pixie. Or, the Tier you brought in that left shortly after he was brought in, or a new Tier. |

Maybe this is an out there idea... but other people could submit characters for your Fresh Blood show and the challenge (and fun) would be to see how well you can take on an idea that wasn't your own. |

I agree with this. I want to see how well you do with something that isn't your idea. Something where you have to embrace a concept youre not familiar with and see how you run with it. |

Well, that's basically what I'm asking for here. The only thing I have left to do in NGIW as a wrestling federation and not a roleplaying board is capture the title for a legitimate run, so if you guys wanna send me character ideas or post 'em here... like I said... please do. |

These are a few character ideas I had... I'm sure I'll churn out more later. I know they're not awesome, but I don't want to draw up too much detail. I have to leave something for you to do! The photo reps are added to help visualize the character. Get an idea for body and motion and personality and all that stuff. Name: Simon Says Gimmick: Extreme narcissist and naturally gifted athlete who is indiscriminately sexually active. He operates with genius intellect and likes to use riddles and the like to fool with/lord over his opponents. Photo Rep: Freddy Mercury Name: Helena Handbasket Gimmick: Starstruck rookie who's catching her first big break with a major wrestling promotion. She loves comics, video games, and making obscure references because it makes her feel smart. Photo Rep: Paige Name: Zipper Head Gimmick: Juggalo with a zipper mask. Photo Rep: Mask Concept |

Name: Alejandro Gimmick: He is from the legendary and mysterious exotico caste of wrestlers. Exoticos can swing either way, much like their over-the-top sexuality; they can be a heel or a hero, but they do it in a style that is full of pomp and circumstance, all with a smack of lipstick, a touch of mascara and a knowing wink. Beyond all the makeup and the love for the dramatic, Alejandro is a polished, prolific and amazing young athletic prospect. Photo Rep: Cassandro |

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I probably won't use them wholesale because I don't like to just steal characters like that even when they're given to me (plus I have a hard time giving life to a character who isn't at least a little mine... it's why I don't write much fanfiction anymore) but I will snatch those basic ideas and do something with them, as well as adding a few other concepts I've managed to cook up. Thanks for your help, guys. If anyone else wants to add their ideas (or either of you want to add more) just lemme know and I'll add 'em to the list. |

Oh man, I have so many failed characters from the past, that I'd love to see get a serious run. And some characters who may have been good but simply never got a fair shot because of time constraints and the like. Name: TENMA Akamu (TENMA is Japanese for DEMON, while Akamu is Polynesian for Adam). Gimmick: 443 pound hardcore wrecking machine. He's a demon, allegedly, who converses with his boss Lou (Lucifer). Started off as a face comedy character, but I then turned him heel and had him getting pissed because people thought he was a comedy act. I've often had him talking to Lou on old-school pay phones, but now he's been seen assaulting said phones, 'cause Lou won't get with the times and use a cell phone. Has once also worshiped Lou using a toilet as his alter. Pic Base: None that I know of. TENMA's look came out of my head - shoulder-length dreadlocks, long, pointy goatee, and he's half Japanese and half Samoan. Name: "Mr. Hardcore" Abel Braddock Gimmick: A world class amateur wrestler from Sheffield, England, who has been so vicious in the ring that he'll break bones with one of his submissions. Complete and total asshole though, extremely arrogant, and looks down on hardcore wrestlers. Pic Base: I kinda' see him as a cross between Charlie Haas and Dan Hardy (former UFC fighter I believe) Name: "50 Caliber" Bo Browning Gimmick: Do you remember the original Predator movie? Remember Jesse Ventura's character Blaine in that? Well that's where I got the inspiration for Bo. An over the top 80s-style face who's a tough as nails war hero. Sadly, I just never got around to fully fleshing him out, even though I think he'd be a blast to write. Pic Base: I don't really know. Can you think of a 304 pound tattooed dude with a buzz cut and 5 o'clock shadow? Name: "Bloodscythe" Cornelius Gore Gimmick: A mute psychopath who wrestles barefoot. Never put much effort into developing his character though. And his manager Andrea Kristian ultimately eclipsed him along with pretty much every other character I've ever come up with. Gore looks and wrestles like Low-Ki though. His finisher is a yakuza kick where he stomps on a pile of nails, barbed wire, thumbtacks, or whatever, before driving it into his opponent's face. Pic Base: Low-Ki Name: Dani Colston Gimmick: 2nd generation wrestler from Vancouver, Canada, whose old man was a career jobber by the name of "Hapless" Harry Colston. Not wanting to follow in his footsteps, she instead opted to train under Vancouver legend "Extreme War Machine" Corey Irons (whose handler I consider to be one of my mentors in this game). Dani was a face who had a chip on her shoulder because she was determined to make something of herself in the industry. Sadly though, she was one of those characters that I just never got around to putting a great deal of effort into due to time constraints. Pic Base: The hot chick from the Canadian Ninjas tag team, who's not Portia Perez. Name escapes me. Um... oh! Nicole Matthews! Name: "Gaijin Killer" GORO Takimura Gimmick: The son of a prominent Yakuza boss in Kobe, Japan, GORO has learned how to be a vicious business man. He's a well rounded wrestler, willing to cheat, and not afraid of blood. He'll do whatever it takes to pull out a win. Another character that I just never got around to. Pic Base: Shinsuke Nakamura. Name: "Pure Heart Warrior" Izumi Sato Gimmick: I originally created Izumi for my summary feds, and that's pretty much where she's stayed. But I think there's a lot of potential there. She's evolved from a naive rookie into a seasoned veteran who will put up a fight. Izumi is a world class judo practitioner, but has also worked on improving her hands for throwing punches. Her nickname was given to her by the Japanese press, because she has a heart of gold and never quits no matter how bad the odds are. Pic Base: Apple Miyuki Name: "The Barbarian" Jacen Benedict Gimmick: Sadly, this is one character that I've tried repeatedly, but just never found my niche with him. I've run him as both a face and heel, to no avail. He's Ronan and Myra's older brother though, and a fucking tank. Think Brock Lesnar in a slightly smaller body. He has freakish strength, comparable to that of a 400 pounder despite being considerably lighter. Jacen's animalistic in how he behaves and how he fights. He's full steam ahead all the time, fights like a rabid dog, but is also extremely loyal when it comes to his family. Pic Base: Marco Hietala from the band Nightwish Name: "La Onza" Mariana De Leon Gimmick: Mariana is a Mexican gang member, cocky as shit, and a total badass. Perfect fit in the hardcore ranks. She'll fight both men and women indiscrimately. Has had drug problems in the past, and served multiple prison sentences despite only being 27. One was because she broke parole by leaving California to wrestle in various promotions around the country. In the end though, I found that she just lacked depth, and thus I ran out of material for her despite really enjoying writing her. Pic Base: Melina Perez while she was Kyra in the indies (before WWE) "The X-Caliber" Xander Keegan Gimmick: A cocky Chicagoan who I've played as both a face and heel, and whose cockiness worked in both roles. Xander was pretty much your standard workratey dude. Not a whole lot of character development went into him, as the cocky attitude was pretty much the driving force behind him. I eventually abandoned him though, as I tend to bore quickly of the cocky/arrogant types in favor of badasses. Pic Base: Frankie Kazarian |

Well, once again, thanks everyone for your help. I managed to come up with four characters for this year's Fresh Blood based on the ideas you all provided me. I'm thinking about doing things a bit differently with the actually "game show" portion of it, but I haven't nailed down what yet... Anybutt, I'm sure you'll see some portions of your suggestions in the final characters of Nero Kazama, Setsuko Kanemoto, Bisenshi ULTRA, and Miki Lee. Hope you enjoy! |

So much for me suggesting anyone with elements of my all-time favorite MMA fighter, Chael Sonnen. Even though I may subtly incorporate elements of him into Richlen down the line. ...Or I might give Shaelin an alter ego as an anime monster girl bear. That would be funny (and cute). GAAAAAAAH, now do you see what you've started?! |

Since you're not swiping anybody's characters directly, here's a couple more of mine that I reserved because I would like to write them again someday. "The Dark Paladin" Myra Benedict - If you read my RP for Ronan prior to the last Vice (I think), you saw Myra make an appearance. First of all, I goofed when spelling her name, but always pronounced it like Mira. Anyway, Myra has been my #1 character for about a decade. She was a brutal heel for most of that time, but turned face a couple years ago. She did a lot of really bad stuff during her heel days though, so now she puts a lot of effort into redeeming herself by going after other nasty heels. Otherwise she's a seasoned veteran in her 30s, highly skilled fighter, but is still a monster in some ways. She's still a brutal fighter, willing to go to great extremes in a fight, and still has an ego. Her cousin Sonya cut out her right eye when Myra kidnapped Sonya's twin children. "The Bullhead" Gaia Brasher - 40-something veteran inspired by Gemma Teller from Sons of Anarchy, Chigusa Nagayo, and Clint Eastwood's character Frankie Dunne from Million Dollar Baby. Just a tough as nails matriarch, trainer, and sometimes bully. Has a good heart overall, but sometimes she'll do bad shit for noble reasons. "The Heroine" Hannah Kristian - Much like "50 Caliber" Bo Browning, Hannah is also a decorated war hero. But due to her beauty, she also models for gun and military magazines. Moreover, she's a vigilante crime fighter at night. Hannah does have a darker side though, as she has been known to associate with a corrupt priest and other unsavory characters. Hannah has also exhibited a self-righteous attitude at times, can act "holier than thou", and overall just be a pain in the ass. "The Psycho Siren" Andrea Kristian - Hannah's evil twin. Andrea was initially intended to succeed Myra Benedict as my top heel, but she spun off into another completely unintended direction. Like her Twitter account states, she's a stalker, is openly bi-sexual, and a sex-crazed psychopath. Andrea is also sterile though, has ADHD, and has a fictitious (at the moment) condition where her heart beats a little faster than everybody elses, and it will physically burn her body out down the road, resulting in early death. "The Demon Queen" Kijo - One of my newer creations, I've never had the opportunity to write Kijo. Nevertheless, her nickname should betray exactly what her gimmick is. I'd like her to lead a group of lemmings of some sort, and had the idea that her black mist is what broke their minds. Kijo was created as an experiment. While I planned to turn Myra face, I decided to create a character by the name of "Nightshade" Sora Kawaii who was already in that predicament - someone who has a very dark, evil past, but who is trying to right their past wrongs. Well with Myra going face, I then opted to turn Sora into her evil alter-ego as well. But Kijo isn't a reflection of who Myra was at all, but rather is something more... innate. |
