Exhausted. Had a long night at work, longer than expected, and ended up having to stay up later than I thought to finish the PPV. Feedback will be up later. Card will be posted in a second, with reasons later.

Thoughts?

The commentary colors are growing on me. I don't think I can say I "like" them, but I find them less uncomfortable to look at. This was perhaps helped by the fact that the commentary was ON FIRE. Sleep-deprived Nir is best Nir, apparently.

I liked the action. I like the results. I liked the twists and turns. Don't know why but I didn't see the Kim thing coming. I guess I'm dumb, or drinking the Kool-Aid. One or the other. The main event finish was a shocker, too. Daring. Something I did too much of back in the day, but we haven't done it in a while around here, so I say it fits.

There was a lot of stuff I loved seeing this week, and a lot of stuff I wasn't super fond of. In fact, some stuff disappointed me quite a bit. Most of that stuff was around the deadline, my own mediocre RP included. But last week pretty much wrapped up anything I had to say for the Bisenshi, and I racked my brain trying to find some life to inject into them this week with basically no success. So, you got what you got. I'm surprised we got as much offense as we did, given my mediocrity, but I felt like all characters were sold well and I liked the finish. I'm glad this storyline can move on now. I'm ready to write something different.

Re: The Doctor vs. Gus Richlen. I scratched my head at this one when it was booked. I mean absolutely no offense when I say this, but the two of us are in different leagues of roleplaying skill. This is not to say I could never lose to Gus Richlen, or any of the PredNation; I could. But The Doctor has not been a character who flounders, unlike some of my recent efforts. It seemed a bit unfair from a booking perspective. Then again, if Gus could trounce me it would've been one hell of a leg up for him as a character, and a definite, solid path to a healthy Flycore reign.

There was a part of me that wanted to tell Nir to just have the match go in Gus's favor. The character has a lot of momentum, obviously a very personal storyline, and the booker in me didn't want to injure that in favor of my own promotion. And perhaps if I had kept my mouth shut in terms of a rebuttal to his second promo, that's the way the match would've ended. But I had to remind myself that The Doctor, more than any character I've played in YEARS, is here for the sake of competition. For the time being I am not in control of this federation, and I can't seem to find another e-fed to thrive in, so this is probably my last opportunity one way or another to capture a main event strap in an e-fed. I've come close a few times. I've had great reigns with lower titles. And I've even captured a belt a time or two. But I end up holding onto them for maybe a month before purposefully handing them off to some lower-card talent who could use the rub. I want a REAL run with a main event title. Moreover, I would love for that to be in my own fed.

So in short, I'm sorry Richlen ran afoul of "actually trying really really hard Wight" and not "farting around doing what's best for the fed Wight" because I think that was some of the best work I've seen on the character and it deserves to be rewarded. I'm glad The Doctor won by cheating, in that regard. Saves Richlen a lot of face. I'm sure I'm coming off as sounding arrogant in all of this, and I am sincerely not trying to. You're a great roleplayer and the improvements you've mad in the last few months alone are indicative of a greater skill lying beneath. Perhaps in a few months time you'll be saying to me "I'm sorry you ran into 'actually trying really really hard Sticky'." I would welcome it.

That was a really awesome show. It was the first show in ages where I was inching the page down as I read so not to spoil any of the results. In the end, I got what I wanted from nearly every result. So that was super awesome.

The Tag Team title match went as planned so that was great to read. Thanks to Nir for including what we requested from this encounter and writing it as well as you always do. I'm very excited to see where things go with Kim and Nathaniel aligned in the singles division. And I'm even more excited to see how Roxie responds to being dumped by Kim and joining forces with an "evil man". Hehe. Big thanks to JoJo for all the work he did with me this week. I had a lot of fun doing the Kim and Roxie stuff.

As I told Nir in my judging thoughts, Gus Richlen's promos have shown a good amount of improvement so I hope to see that continue. However, I think the Doctor was just more on point this week. My advice to Sticky is really focus on Richlen's direction. He tends to fly off the handle quite easily and sometimes it feels empty. If the story is that he's so frustrated over losing the Flycore title to Seto that he can't control his anger towards anybody, focus on making that more clear and then everything else should fall into place and make a ton more sense. I don't really have any feedback for the Doctor. Keep doing what you're doing with him but be careful to avoid coming off too haughty as to not alienate the readers... unless that's the goal.

Seto... why? Why, Seto? I'll start by saying that Scott Knight might be one of the best new additions we've had around here in a long time. The RPs are so good to read. Mistress is a fantastic character that compliments Scott Knight well. They're a very good duo and I hope to see them continue and grow as a duo. I'm very happy that Knight won the Flycore because it's very deserving. Hayden, pal, what's going on? You're such a good writer but those deadlines, man. If you could just get stuff in earlier then it would make a HUGE difference on both of your characters.

Scott Free is so annoyingly cool. I'm becoming a fan. The victory here was certainly deserving and I'm eager to see what Adam and I can do going into a Free/April feud over the title belt. I think it'll be tons of fun as I always love working with Adam. For Dream, I'm not going to repeat myself. Hayden knows I love him.

I loved the Midway match and not just because I won. Partly because I won but not entirely. Hehe. I really like working with Mike and T. They both are great writers and I've had tons of fun working with T over the past several months. Mike is another one like Scott Knight who may be one of the best new characters in a long while (probably since Cody McGinnis). Mike's work is so well put together that it's a joy to read and work off of. And I love that he lets you work off him and he can work off of you. Some people tend to get butt hurt real easy by stuff said in RPs so it's nice to have such a talented writer that you can work with. It looks like Harrison and April may be done for the time being but I hope they cross paths again in the future. I also hope that Cody and April stay connected. Their friendship got a little strained during this "feud" and I'm happy for that because it keeps things from being stagnate. I look forward to where we go from here. I like what appears to be on the horizon for Cody and I hope that I can be involved even if in a small part.

The segment where Mr. Intensity learned it wasn't a prison was fantastic. He's so adorbs. In that giant man who will grind you into powder kind of way.

The Taipei Deathmatch is definitely the contender for match of the card. Nir did a fantastic job writing it and hats off to him. I'm not much of a deathmatch kind of person and writing stuff like that is always daunting to me. If he's at all the same it did not show because that was fantastic. I'm so happy that Intensity won because I just can't help but love that character. He's probably my favorite NGIW character at the moment (and there's TONS of competition). Boy does such a fantastic job writing Intensity and he's very deserving of great things with the character. A bit bitter sweet as I love Adam and Bloodbath as well. Unfortunately Bloodbath just wasn't there for me this cycle. I'd like some clarification on why Bloodbath feels betrayed (maybe I missed that explanation and if so, I'd still like the clarification).

The Elimination Match was great and I actually expected the Pirates to eat the loss for storyline purposes. I wouldn't have cared either way, despite Wight saying he didn't have anything to say this week. It's funny because when Wight told me that he didn't have anything for the Bisenshi to say I mentioned how all feud long I struggled to come up with anything for the Pirates to say and then this cycle I was just bombarded with ideas. But Wight has been fantastic with the Bisenshi all feud long and I would have been perfectly fine losing this match because of that. I absolutely loved the RPs Dai and I did with Hikou and Suri and the one with Tremendous and hide. I saw Guardians of the Galaxy a couple days after writing the Trent/hide RP with Dai and I had to text Wight and Boy about how hilarious it was that Trent and hide were Rocket and Groot in that RP. That was fantastic. Lol. The ending was great. I was surprised that Aimi got the victory but the post-match shenanigans stole the match for me. I'm excited for this next step in the story.

Connie reading cue cards. Have you been purposely writing him as Mike Adamle and I just managed to catch on, or is this all just coincidence? Lol.

The main-event is the only competition that the Taipei Deathmatch has on this show. That's no offense to every other match that was written, but Nir really out-did himself with the Taipei Deathmatch and this one. This match was exactly what a main-event match in NGIW needs to be at Violence Fetish and it fit perfect with the characters of Holland and hide. The draw sits... uneasy with me. It's probably the only decision that I'm not thrilled with, but I understand it. Personally, I feel like Dai slayed this week. Will had some great stuff but his best stuff came somewhat in the eleventh hour so it loses a bit of steam for me as a result. Dai really killed with a gimmick that I wasn't completely behind until this week. Now he could just start saying "I am hide" for everything. LOL

I absolutely loved the end of the 10 Count match, though. The image of a deranged hide fighting up to his feet had me really believing that he was going to get up. Then he fell and I was like "Aw man..." but it was very suspenseful writing.

That was kinda my fault, Lita, and I think a draw was the fairest way to sort it out..

I have been running all over town doing blogs and interviews for a local sports news outlet I just started working for, and really by around that time I had just gotten home from taping a scrimmage to use in a highlight video to realize "Fuck, I need to roleplay" and it was too late to ask Nir for an extension. So I figured, get something up and pray for the best. I was fully prepared to lose, didn't think I would win, but was surprised by the draw. Loved the match though.

Truthfully I'm not surprised at the two losses. Last week was a bit hectic, and ultimately there wasn't enough time to do what I wanted.

But nonetheless, congrats to Knight and Free. Free vs. April is sure to be great, and Scott Knight is definitely one of the more interesting characters as of late.

There have been two consistent factors I have experienced since joining NGIW and they are high quality roleplays and results, and Violence Fetish certainly hit both out of the ground.

It is refreshing to be in an e-fed that I look forward to writing for, reading the roleplays of other writers, and the results. Believe me, for quite sometime I found those things to be a chore, and that shouldn't be the case. You should always want to sit down and enjoy writing your piece(s) for the week, and thankfully NGIW has reignited that passionate and enjoyment that I have not had in quite some time. It even negates the usual feeling you have when you lose, because you know you have plenty to work with for the following week, and that you can build from it. And that isn't always the case it a lot of feds out there. So you get a big thumbs up for helping me re-find my love of this hobby and I look forward to the next show!

Now when it comes to reading other people's work, it has been a pleasure to read. Every show there is high quality writing on the boards. It is amazing to see the dedication and hard work of everyone in the fed. And Violence Fetish was no different. Once again there was a lot of good roleplays to read through. Some tell stories, others shoot at one another. The spread here makes it unique. It is a pleasure to be among such writers because we can all work off each other (like Lita said), and we can all push each other to go further and improve. Everyone should be proud of their performance at the PPV.

Likewise, in other feds I will hold my hands up and say that for a while I have skim read the majority of the show (though in my defence, some of the shows have been novel length!). I have scrolled down to my match, barely read it, and looked who won. Again, it shouldn't be that way. You should want to read the entire show from start to finish, and while there may be times when that is not possible or difficult, you should have the desire to go back to it at a later date - like you do with a book. And thankfully that has been my experience in NGIW. I have enjoyed reading the shows because they are entertaining, and the writers try to deliver the best possible product. And I feel that Violence Fetish is one of the best shows I have read in a long time, and I am thankful to be part of a fed with such a committed group of writers.

I will add my specific feedback and thoughts regarding the PPV tomorrow, but in short, I would give it the following grade:

This show rocked. The Deathmatch was awesome and the ME Was brutal. It reminded me most of Dante Coles Vs Chester Wynn, that time they tore the ring apart. Those who saw my initial reaction to that match in the old Two Nerds Videos can attest that's high fucking praise from me.

I want to leave more thorough feedback, and I will try to asap.

My thoughts exactly! The entire show was awesome and that ME was amazing! The Taipei Deathmatch was a great read as well.

As for the tag title match, as Lita said, I knew going in what was going to happen cause it was planned all along. Even when Steve was here, we'd talked about when the BLS was going to split and how we wanted it to happen. This wasn't exactly what we had in mind at the time but I like how this worked out, though. I'm definitely looking forward to what's coming next. Thanks to Jo for helping out with it as well with his RP between Roxie and Kim. I still feel I didn't give ya enough RP-wise in our feud between BLS and Spectre Girls so, apologies for that.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this show and I'm definitely looking forward to the Vice card!

Oh, and also...

I don't think I've ever seen "trying really really hard" Wight, because in the few times we've RP'ed against one another, he made beating me look so easy he didn't even have to try "really really hard." The encounter between Samael and Bill Kuriyama in FIW had me trying my damnedest to keep up. Not sure if that was "trying really really hard Wight" or not but I'd venture to say not because again, he made it look easy in beating me. Lol. My favorite RP was Graver and [R] beating a dead horse as a metaphor for beating BLS.

Well, all the matches were pretty much spectacular. Not much to add there.

I think there are two things that, for me at least, are holding Gus Richelin back. One, his feud with Seto doesn't seem to have much of a well defined reason behind it. "I hate your mentor, and I'm going to kick your ass until you see that" isn't the best justification for arson that I ever heard. Secondly, I think the character is a little too close to the handler in terms of mood, personality and interests. Obviously, this is just based on what I've gleaned from posts on these boards. It also means that the other two members of the Nation define themselves in terms of Gus himself.

Hayden: deadline.

Bloodbath was just unlucky to come up against an in-form Club, and I thought Scott Free was good value for the win. (PS Sticky: Be more like Adam. Rip off something you really enjoy and then try and make it your own when You've run out of good Foley promos. Me and Lita do it, too.)

Loved working with Lita this week. Funnily enough, it coincidenced with what I feel has been my strongest week in a while.

Cody actually makes a good white-bread baby-face, which isn't the easiest thing to do. Tidy up the grammar and he's set.

Disappointed with Nate. He completely No-sold my great idea for the BLS. Nah, seriously that was some good shit on the show. I actually had the Blue Labels winning the tag straps, but that was much better.

If I say anything about Scott Knight, I'd only be echoing others in this thread, and typing on my phone is harder than I thought it would be.

Finally, yeah. The show was pretty good.

Only thing is that it leaves me/Shaelin/MWC stranded.

I have totally done this too. My first couple RPs as Erik were straight ripoffs of Sami Callihan promos. Once I found his 'voice', it's been nothing but roses.

This was a great show from start to finish. Every match was fun to read, with that main event being one of the most brutal things I've ever seen in a fed setting. I was deeply satisfied with my match, particularly the "leaping like a shark" line. I had originally intended to include something in my RP about "tearing down the structure around us" or such. Also, the image of Knight kneeling and offering up the title to The Mistress was picture perfect. I've been trying to develop the characters as I go, and have been pleased thus far, but it means a lot to see I'm not the only one who likes what I've been doing.
