Sorry, folks. My internet started acting wonky Sunday night, likely due to the stormy weather we've been having over here. So it became a bit of a challenge to post the show, and Monday is...well, one of my longer days. So, I didn't get the chance to get the show up till now. In any case, feedback time. Disappointing, honestly. I extended the deadline after a few people asked me to privately and the Erik RP still didn't manage to get in before it was up. It was a nice RP, but it was late, and so Erik lost. Simple as that, really. Neither RP was bad, just that Lita's had more to it and had more going on. Aimi was clear cut the star of the RP, the focus entirely on her and what's been going on. Whereas Mercury somewhat acted as a side act to ULTRA. Admittedly it makes sense, seeing as she kind of is that to begin with. This match was pretty split in the general feedback for it. Both handlers did really well, and played off of one another perfectly. Bringing up more history between the two than I expected them to, really. And, the Kim Coulter element was a solid one present too. That said, I felt Boy just barely got the victory. Partially why, playing off of something Triad had Bloodbath bring up, I went with the finish I went with. Continues the weird feud with Intensity & Bloodbath, keeps Nate looking good, and sets up for another tournament match. I liked what Wighty did with ULTRA, as I tend to. But it wasn't his strongest offering with the Bisenshi and Dai was dropping some great stuff. Really, just in general Dai's efforts were really strong this cycle. With alot of it bleeding into one another story wise. This one was by far one of the trickiest to judge. Partially because one judge suggested a draw. Which while not a terrible idea, I don't want every show to have a draw or no contest of some sort. And, I know for a while there it was a trend where bigger tag matches like this would end in that manner & I know as an RPer it could be annoying. Going off of the feedback I got from the judges and my own thoughts, Cody and The Doctor were just kind of there this cycle. Not anything bad, but nothing that really leaped out at you and demanded your attention. Both handlers had definitely done better in the past and I'm sure it was simply a one off thing. Sticky, Lita, Mike and Triad all did wonderfully and made it really hard to call which way it should go down. After a note was given to me by Mike about the match, I had ideas forming in my head how I might have the match play out, depending on which team won. It was a crab shoot, but in the end I felt that the Mike Harrison and Scott Free stuff was just slightly stronger than the other side. Not enough to make the finish completely clean however. And, to give Mike & Lita and Triad all something to work with. The census for this match was pretty much my thoughts, Roxie was good, but Bloodbath was better. I think one of my own occasional issues with Roxie presented itself with this match actually. While I like ditzy Roxie and feel the character can be lots of fun, I realized why she tends to feel so insular. Bloodbath brought up a point, Roxie and him and fought quite a few times now. They're not strangers, they've fought over a few titles even in the past. Yet Roxie treated him like she would any other person really, and didn't bring up said history. I realize, again, Roxie is ditzy. But I feel like if she treated him like an old enemy, or maybe messed with the whole she's never beaten him thing it could've worked more in her favor. It would develop relationships amongst the roster with Roxie, make her feel more like apart of it and apart of NGIW's rich history like she should feel. It would have more consistency to the character and a continuity that I feel like sometimes isn't there with her outside of characters that are no longer in the fed or are predominately managers. This one was a tough one to call. Both handlers did well, I felt. The judges seemed to feel that way too. Albeit one believes Seto is a "weenie". But the general feedback I got was that while the Seto RP was good, the Knight efforts were stronger. Though they all mentioned how they felt that if the Seto RPs continue to be timely and this good, they see no reason why he can't eventually be Flycore Champ again. There was some concern from one judge over one of the Knight RPs, but I'm confident any worries they have will be taken care of. Thoughts? |

I had a lot of fun with Hikou this week. I did bring him in with the intention of being a sort of mini-hide, but obviously it's good for the rest of us that there's only one hide Kitazawa. Anyhow, it's been good to focus recently on the things that make him different from hide. For Seto, maybe "Weenie" isn't quite the right word. I definitely think that there was at least one point where Koji should have smacked him one. EDIT: feedback is also supposed to be helpful. I do feel that Seto had a better chance if there had been some kind of resolution to that simmering anger (?) resentment (?) between the brothers this week. Although that last Knight RP was class. PS. While Hikou *did* pick a match, the match he picked was shot down fairly quickly. A ladder match for throne is pretty daft. |

Nir, I got a question. What time zone are you in, presently? Because I posted my last roleplay about 8PM Saturday my time (I'm PST), and changed the board clock to EST to check to make sure I was within deadline. Board says I posted my RP at about 11:16 PM EST, almost a full hour before deadline. So it wasn't late. Not even close to late. Maybe skating up to the line, and maybe you could argue I ought to get popped for deadline bombing, but it certainly wasn't intentional. If Dai's RP was better than mine (and it probably was), I don't mind losing that way at all and you know that. If I lost because my RP was late somehow, I have to flat disagree with you 'cuz the deadline you set was Saturday at midnight EST, and I didn't post at midnight EST. There is nothing to be disappointed in, therefore, because I didn't do anything wrong. Quite frankly the only reason I SHOULD have lost that match is if Dai's RP was better than mine. On top of that, I'm writing a game review for work, arguing with my boss, and rushing to post half a million other things for him because for some insane reason he is hellbent upon scooping the Bulletin (when the guy doesn't realize he's trying to ask two people to out-work forty.) Which is why I asked for the extension to begin with so I could get a chance to get on top of my work and then knock a roleplay out. Kinda feel as if that was all for nothing now since I evidently know nothing about timezones. |

Your RP was actually posted at 12:16 EST time, Will. You likely have the daylight savings feature in wrong which is why it said 11:16 for you. Sorry. :( |

I guess I needed to have DST checked. Maybe that's why I got confused and thought I had time, and nevertheless that is a really damn lame way to lose a match. Guess I'll deal though. I have a really sour taste about it, however. |

Losing to a lone RP, twenty three hours and sixteen minutes after the original deadline would have been a sucky way to lose, too. |

Hey, I lost the Flycore Title last year because of the same thing. And two matches at the PPV, though I kinda expected that. Deadlines are deadlines dude. Plus, there's always next week. |

I'd just like to start by saying, I like winning! I think everything is going great character-wise for me. I was happy to have been able to work out a "joint" roleplay for Bloodbath and Scott Free given they finally have a tie that bonds... even if it's a pretty thin string. I enjoyed the last cycle of roleplays. I feel like I'm getting a grip on Scott Free again, though feedback to the contrary is always welcomed! Actually, I'll ask... what could I do better with Scott? I' not going to bother asking about Bloodbath. I know how some people feel about his beef with Intensity. Like I said in a prior feedback thread, I'm committed to the idea and I'm going to ride it for all it's worth! One of the major points of feedback that I used to get in years past is that I sometimes abandon a motive and lose consistency. So this is me taking that to heart and going forward with it... even if it kills my buzz in the end. I'll be honest, I didn't read many RP's that weren't directly related to mine. I did read the Intensity/Nathaniel stuff and really enjoyed it. I also read the Gus Richlen RP just because so many people got to talking about it in their own RP's! I think Gus is still searching for his voice, and I'm happy that Sticky's experimenting with the advice of many. The content left me scratching my head a little though. I wasn't sure where all the hate for the rest of the roster was coming from. Hopefully, this is something that reveals itself as the character is developed! That being said, trial and error are all part of the process. It took me a few weeks to really figure out what Bloodbath McGrath was all about. Here we are five years later and I have a character who finally has an awesome reputation among the remainder of the roster and handlers alike! That's a cool feeling! I made it, ma! I finally made it! |

Agreed. Like I said, I don't mind losing other ways, especially when I just flatout get beat, I hate losing only when it comes to me losing track of time and not getting an RP up on time. I also didn't want to no-show, and given the amount of work I have had to do this last week I very likely would have. Guess it was kind of a damned if I did, damned if I didn't thing. That will teach me to make sure to turn DST on and off when I need to so that I'm on top of it a little better. |

Great show as usual. The Intensity/Nathaniel match was awesome and I really liked the finish to that having Bloodbath interfere. It plays perfectly into the upcoming match between him and Nathaniel at Vice. So far, from what I've gathered it seems people enjoyed the RP's Boy and I traded back and forth. I certainly had fun with it. I remember sometime back I wanted to pull up some history between Nathaniel and someone else he was facing off against (I think in a tag match with Stephen Eversol) but it didn't work too well that time. Glad I was able to do it again and even better that Boy brought up the history regarding The League, I think that helped make it work better. Definitely looking forward to the Bloodbath/Nathaniel matchup and I have a few ideas to work with based on the result of the Intensity/Nathaniel match and maybe I'll do another "history lesson" type RP. I've got some ideas floating around. As for the rest of the show, like Adam, I didn't read many other RPs that weren't related to my match. I did enjoy all the matches on the show, though. Overall it was awesome and I'm looking forward to the next! |

I'm still waiting on whatever is being planned by Wighty et al., and no matter what I do until then, I'm still left twisting in the wind. So I'm trying to get SOMETHING going. |

My concern was not so much with the RP itself, as much as for the potential for more of that sort of thing to wreck the gimmick without going into the whys of their relationship. Looking back on it, certain things were hinted; but my first time reading it, the main thing regarding the two of them that I took away from it was "easy for you to say," which did make me smile but as I say, too much of a good thing, ya know? |

Fair enough. I was trying to build a little of "Just why the heck does this guy put up with her?" while setting up more explanation of the pair's relationship. Honestly, I'm still developing just what's going on between the two in my own head as I go. And I realize I'm walking a slippery slope here, with the threat of losing "silent angry badass" to "resentful, whipped guy"if I do too much like that. Still, I appreciate the concern (and the prompt response) and will keep it in mind going forward. |
