Show written by me! Promos by Nir and Hayden, where obvious. I like this new format. I took a lot of Nir's suggestions in hand, and honestly that was what reminded me The matches end up... uh... wierdly short for a wrestling match, but they're longer than the baby paragraphs, they have commentary for context, and lots of flavor. I hope people don't hate them. It took so very little creative effort from me (despite how much I actually wrote for this show) and spreading out the assembly over a few days really helped as well. So, extra double special thanks to Nir, without whom we just plain wouldn't be here. If you notice any code errors or "XIR" "XXXXXX" or "WRESTLER" where it shouldn't be let me know and I'll fix it. I was overwhelmed with how many people RPed, and for which characters. Like, you guys made my week. It was great to see everyone coming out of the woodwork for this return. Made me feel special! That being said, there's gotta be winners and there's gotta be losers. Obviously the jobber teams lost because they're jobbers, but even still their opponents really did a great job and I'm eager to see more from the Murder City Mafia, the "new" Gus Richlen, and of course the Brick Sharks. I liked what McGinnis, Free, and Dream had to offer a lot. Dream had a lot more of it, I think, and put out SO MUCH content. Scott's was really great too, but with him coming back the Midway Champion it didn't seem like he really needed the win the way Dream did. However, he was strong enough that I didn't want him to lose, either. Cody taks the fall for being third place between these three guys. I still love where he's going with his character and can't wait to see more. I like the Spectral Cabal in theory but was just expecting to see more from them. I don't think this loss should come as a surprise to Nir (or anyone) and it's helped by the very creative and interesting work Joe put out by the Spectre Girls this week. I didn't like judging TSUNAMI/Scratch. I didn't really wanna put my character over TSUNAMI when he'd been on such a dominant win streak in CCW, especially in the "David and Goliath" situation that I so loathed being Rey Mysterio's gimmick in the early 2000s. I agonized over it until last night (around when my internet went out) and Boy helped me come to the conclusion that this was the best way to go; a victory that allows Gino to save TSUNAMI face, and lets Scratch look clever without looking like Rey Rey. Still a victory, because if any other handler had been in the victory position I would've just said "sorry about your luck, Skell" and had them win clean. Erik Holland losing to Intensity certainly wasn't a matter of quality; just quantity. Boy made a great showing throughout the party thread with Intensity and I don't think anyone can argue with this victory. Anyhow, feedback is appreciated for myself and your fellow wrestlers. Great work, everyone. I'll post the card in a mo. I'm still working on the restricted list, some behind-the-scenes stuff, and accepting new apps. Have a little patience, plz. Thots? |

I'm on my phone so I'll probably post more later, but I want to say the show was super, you are right the results are short, but I like them just fine! The Party thread was amazing and I want to thank Will for how he decided to 'deliver' his promo, it was great and really gave me stuff to work with. |

Stanton turning heel. Never saw that one coming. And how dare the commentators bash Deftones, especially Nick Diaz's entrance song. CESARGRACIEJIUJITSUSTOCKTON209WHUT! |

I think this was an awesome re-introduction for NGIW. The party thread was really cool and I saw a lot of good content coming from that. I like the way the format of the results turned out and the two-week period to RP is great because those of us that are also in FIW can bounce around back and forth easily. I know Bleak and I weren't on the show, but I figured I'd leave feedback anyway. Murder City Mafia vs. The Blade Runners Like Wight, I also liked the stuff Steve was doing with the Murder City Mafia. Looks like they've got their sights set on everybody in the tag…division? I think it could be really cool to have something between the Bronx Bravehearts and the Murder City Mafia, 'cause they might have a lot in common. This thing got violent right away, but I wouldn't expect anything less in an NGIW match. Lol. Good stuff with this one. Joe Stanton promo "Smokin' Joe Stanton and the Electric Dream Machine sounds like a 60s or 70s Funk or Soul band or something. Lol. Really cool promo for Dream and Joe Stanton here. I've seen scenes like this one in drama shows and stuff where you have one character who's overly excited and another who's brooding and morose. Then all of a sudden, that excitedness becomes infectious and the brooding, morose character changes his tune at the end. Good stuff with this promo. "The Last American Predator" Gus Richlen vs. American Breakfast The Battle of the Americas! Lol. I was a fan of Gus Richlen in the last iteration of NGIW so it was cool to see the character get a win here. Wight, ya said to let ya know if we found any coding errors or anything. Not sure if that also extended to spelling stuff? Lol. But just in case Nox: All, right, and that's cool, but could he get some better theme music? This one isn't a part of every balanced anything. I'm guessing that's supposed to be "a very"? Just thought I'd point that out. Lol. Cody McGinnis vs. The Dream vs. Scott Free This match was awesome as I'm a fan of all three characters involved in it. So, because of that, I woulda been happy regardless who won this one. I think Cody got in a huge chunk of offense and it made him look great regardless of the loss. Everyone was fairly evenly represented in this match and 'grats to Dream on getting the win here. Btw, I also noticed a coding error here in the opening bell bit. Oh, and also: JM: We saw Stanton and The Dream conversing earlier tonight, and it seemed like things were just fine between them, Joe's pissy mood aside. What the fuck prompted this!? That's what I'd like to know too! Lol. I never saw the heel turn coming. It'll definitely be interesting to see where this goes from here. The Brick Sharks vs. Errotika You know, it's pretty funny, Bleak and I had an idea for a comedy tag team that was pretty much identical to Errotika. I don't know anything about the Brick Sharks but what I saw in the RP's from Lita with them, they're gonna be fun to read. The Spectre Girls vs. The Spectral Cabal First the Battle of the Americas and now the Battle of the Spectres! Lol. This match was a fun, very quick read and it just so happened to be the match where I realized Mr. X had different variations of the "Ladies and gentlemen" intro. It was cool to see the Spectre Girls get the win in this match. I liked the pacing of this match, even though it was short results. With a few of the others, they seemed to have a bit slower pacing, if only a very violent pacing. That's not a bad thing by any means, just an observation. This one, on the other hand, seemed to have a much quicker pace IMO. Good stuff regardless, though. TSUNAMI vs. Scratch Overall, I thought this was a really good match and I think the countout finish for it worked perfectly, especially if the idea was to help TSUNAMI still look good despite losing. Nox: YEAH!!! Get into the Danger Zone! JM: Isn't EVERYWHERE in the SinArena a Danger Zone? Nox: YUP! S'why I love it SO MUCH!!! That bit of commentary made me laugh too. Lol. "The Haunted" Erik Holland vs. Mr. Intensity This was another match where I thought both competitors did a helluva job with the RP's for it. Holland sending Intensity a video tape with his promo on it and having it sent to the Hellfire Club where the party was going on was a really good idea. It helped keep Holland's gimmick intact since I doubt he'd be one to join in on any parties, even NGIW parties. Lol. The match itself was great as well and I thought it capped off the show nicely. |

As someone who lived in and has family in Stockton, the Diaz brothers aren't too well loved in the 209. I've never personally met them, but stories don't paint them in a favorable light. As for the show! - As I know nothing about The Blade Runners, MCM winning was my choice. They seem to want to be the top heels so far, and I'd be hard pressed to say no to that. Here's hoping they make a strong impact in the tag division. - "Smokin' Joe and the Electric Dream Machine" T-Shirts are available in the lobby. Or at least, they need to be. - American Breakfast and The Dream need to be a short-lived comedy team one day. That said, Gus deserved this win hands down. - I miss The Boy on commentary. - YAY DREAM! :D - BOO JOE! - I do like that Dream still tried to hug Joe before the death blow. Poor guy. - I dig the Brick Sharks and dread the day I face Eros. Poor Dream will go for a hug and it'll be all over. - I eagerly await the day The Spectral Cabal become players in the tag division. I'm digging their gimmick and want them to do well. - As an aside, part of me wants to bring back Arya and have her hang with the Spectre Girls. I always want to interact with them during parties, but never really know what to say. - I like Scratch. - TSUNAMI could easily make a play for the Midway Title. Though he lost, there's enough plausibility so that it's something he can bounce back from. - I wanted more from Holland, but Intensity was too on point this week. Dude earned it. - Danger Zone. |

Always more than welcome and that's the joy of party threads is it gives the chance to do whatever. I do enjoy the interactions at these, although I do wish they could happen more often. As for the match, it was fun. Nice to see Eve getting a pin and it was a fun RP time. I felt I got to explain a lot of instances through Mouse, even if a lot of them were confounded. :P Anyway, good job there. :) Please excuse the lateness of my reply. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |
