IF YOU DIDN'T READ THE WHOLE SHOW, YOU'RE DOING YOURSELF A DISSERVICE.

In true NGIW fashion, the show has been posted in the wee hours of the morning the next day, EST. That's the way we've always rolled... why change things now?

In all honesty, splitting all the responsibilities of the show across two people and two days, ESPECIALLY with a titanic card like this is just... insanity. I might miss all the fun of running a fed, but I DO NOT miss the days where this shit was the norm. Extra special thanks to Nir; this anniversary was HIS brainchild; I just carried it to term. He even did the delivery! This is getting weird and gross, so let's move on. Just give him lots of props, 'cuz most of these matches were his; the entire tournament as well as Youkai vs. Captain Tremendous and Astro Blue vs. Giggles. I did everything else, as well as the editing, assembly, and graphics.

So, first things first; if/when we ever do this again, if we're doing one big tournament with fresh faces or people with undefined commitment to the project on ONE show... we're doing an anonymous seed. I was both disappointed by the fact that most people didn't RP for anything but their first opponent in the tourney, and furthermore that because of the way the ladder worked I couldn't reward some SENSATIONAL roleplays with advancing in the tournament to the degree they should've... just because their first or second-round opponents were ALSO that good. So if you believe you should've gotten farther in the tournament based on your work and didn't? Chances are, I agreed. My hands were just tied by setting up the first round of brackets in advance. Sorry. We'll do better next time.

Live and learn, I suppose.

In particular I'd like to spotlight and thank the handlers for Kuroi and Serah Selena Lacklan. THANK you for how much stuff you put out! It's heartwarming to see two strangers show up in the fed and RP their asses off for no other reason than to look good in our little tournament. I'd also like to thank Clay Krueger and Hannah's handlers for writing some really good, insightful, interesting stuff. Craig in particular... dude... you should write Clay's memoirs. That shit was so amazing I couldn't put it down, read it all in one sitting and it gripped on every word. Amazing stuff.

A few notes about the non-tournament matches; most of which were "fixed" before the fact.

1. I debated whether or not the Richlens should go over Hayden and Kim. I kind of felt they had the better effort? But I could be persuaded to see the Richlens win, too. Lita didn't care either way, but asked if Hayden had won anything, and I didn't want to punish him just because Lita was already walking home with so much. But then when I got around to writing the Cube I realized Lita hadn't RP'ed Chester and that victory should've gone to the Richlens due to the long-standing tradition of not handing out victories for characters who aren't RP'ed. BUT THEN I remembered we were counting Twitter stuff to a certain extent and didn't feel AS bad. Still. Good job, Sticky.

2. Speaking of Twitter and roleplays... I have a small confession to make that two members of the Cube didn't know was the case; that match was also fixed from its inception. Too many times I jerked around The Boy and he agreed to drop the belt for the betterment of stories, or to help put over another handler who was emotionally hurt by a string of losses... etc. etc. He happily gave up his spot in line for other people, and I never really did right by him in the end. I mean... at the end of the day he's my brother, if not by blood, by deed. I can't not do right by someone who has done so much good for me. So, of course he didn't know about this final 'thank you', because if he did he would've tried to convince me not to do it or something stupid like that. If I've learned anything from him about letting your friends force themselves to lose when they wanna put over someone else but still deserve the glory... it's "don't fucking let them do it". So I didn't. I'm sure he figured out my game at some point anyhow.

Thankfully, his casual yet very meaningful output in the party thread stood a damn fine testament against the efforts of Lita, Dai, and Will. It was like the other side of the coin to what Nir had accomplished with Joe Stanton; less serious, more comfortable. A man who's march is done as opposed to one who still marches today. Thus, I had no problem with him winning the Cube naturally, and was happy to see things through as planned... ... or so I thought. I haven't been on the e-fed side of Twitter but to check my notifications much the last few weeks, and apparently Will had been Tweeting up a hype STORM in this time. Damn me for forgetting to tell him it was rigged in advance, as I had done for Chester's handler and hide's handler. Damn me double for not noticing the tweets, and props to Nir for pointing it out to me. So there were some ideas that popped in my head about how the finale of the Main Event went down based on the characters and some seeds I accidentally planted earlier in the show... and so things went down the way you read. Sorry if you're disappointed by this, Will. Lemme know what I can do to make it up to you if you are. But I hope the way the Cube shook out helped soothe any bruises I may have accidentally inflicted on your ego.

That's it for NGIW in 2017, folks. Thank you for stopping by, thank you for dealing with our idiosyncrasies, and thank you for your wonderful efforts both over the last few weeks and over the years. I consider it a great honor to have written with you all during this time.

Congrats to the victors, better luck next time to the losers. A double congratulations to the hand-picked group of legends who were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year; your bios will be posted in the legends roster shortly.

Triple extra-double special thanks to Nir, for being the wonderful person he is, as well as for writing the lion's share of the show and trying to write it all. This would not have happened without you and I think it's great that it did.

Thots?

I... I'm not sure what to say.

Lets start from the top.

This show was fucking amazing. Putting aside that this was NGIW, my home, the place I learned to write anything decent and the only e-fed I've ever felt really comfortable in. The show itself was a fucking triumph of blood and violence that stands eye-to-eye with any other show in the promotion's history. I'm spent from reading it, I cannot imagine what hell Nir went through writing his portions, and I saw first hand how much time and effort went into Wight's portion. So I want to extent a very sincere thank you to both of you for this. Even if we never do another one (I'm a pessimist, but for NGIW I make an exception, it always comes back) this show stands in good stead as the swan song my Iron Church deserved.

Now onto the Role Players.

The party thread was fun as fuck, I had a great time in it and I'm glad it served things as well as it could. I actually thought the interaction with Heart and Joe was really fun in particular. I want to thank everyone who put in effort on this, from just showing up in the party thread to twitter storms to Nir's fucking magnum opus, I enjoyed it all. Special shout out to all the new faces who put in mad effort to help make a one off anniversary show for a closed e-fed you'd probably never heard of before feel like a big event, it did my heart good to see it.

I could go on all day about all the individual spots and calls I loved, but to be honest it would be quicker for you to just read the show again. If it was in there, assume I loved it.

Now onto the main event.

I... sorta thought that's what you were doing when hide didn't RP me into the fucking earth, and knowing that Will put forth the amount of effort that he did on a match he wasn't aware was a work makes me really appreciate that ending. Also, as the lifetime president of the hide Kitazawa Fan club I love that in a lot of ways it took Intensity AND Holland to beat him. Chester might be the longest reigning and most defending Champion on the record books, but I think everyone can acknowledge that when you think Winged Skull, there is one name that comes up first.

Also, yes I absolutely would have tried to talk you out of that, but I'm not gonna shit on something so nice by trying to disavow it now.

Wight knows this about me, but I'm not a guy who puts anything I feel strongly about on the internet a lot, for a lot of reasons. I however am perfectly comfortable thanking my brother for recognizing my efforts and helping me see a dream of mine come to pass. I could attach some smoke to this to minimize how important it was, but I'm not gonna.

Thank you guys, all of you.

Thanks for having me. This was a lot of fun and I'd be happy to join again for another tournament if it happens.

This is my first character and I've had him for nearly 15 years, but I'm shaking off ring rust. I'm excited to see he did so well!

One addendum because I was spent AF and didn't realize how this might've come off when I wrote it last night; I DO believe 100% in our choice for the winner. Priority one in deciding how the tourney shook out was making sure the best person won; the nitty gritty came after. A part of me really wanted to put over an outsider to NGIW because I didn't want this to be some weird tourney just to stroke our egos, and while a couple of you came very close to being the person pushed through all the way, I don't think anyone could've matched the very specific degree of passion, creativity, and skill exhibited by the handler who won.

As I texted you, Wight, I am utterly pleased with how everything turned out. I feel like this was the premier match of Erik Holland's career, and it was a very good call to give it to the Boy. I still was gonna' give the same effort if I knew it was a work, just to make the match better.

The rest of the show was nothing less than what I'd expect from NGIW. Crazy spots, total chaos and a really...correct finish.

I remembered the anniversary of NGIW was coming up a couple months back, and I pitched this idea to him. Do a one off event, maybe pair it with an open invitational tournament.

My main objective with the event was to provide a lot of our old members, and the new faces too, a platform for some fun. In all facets of it really this was in my mind, in the booking, in my RPs, in my matches I wrote. I tried to give this place the love and attention it deserved, and tried to make this event really special for everyone involved.

I know Wighty did the same, and it shows in the matches he wrote. The Cube may not be the longest match written in the history of efeds, but it has a solid story throughout it and it tells it very well. It uses the characters and their personalities all in positive ways, and each gets a "moment" during the course of it.

It's easily one of my favorite matches.

Going back to an earlier statement, I did try to arrange some segments with some other parties that were old NGIW faces that unfortunately didn't manage to notice this show in time to get on the card proper. Time constraints both on my end and theirs sadly meant it didn't materialize. I wanted to apologize to them publicly for that, I'm really sorry, I was really hoping it could've happened. You know who you are.

The tournament was a blast, I really wasn't sure how Joe was going to fare. Especially when paired with Clay, who pretty much as soon as that happened I had the mindset of "If Joe gets knocked out in the first round, I'm okay with that." I love the Clay Krueger character and have always liked how Joe & Clay had this frienemy dynamic to them, and how no matter what always they always seem to bump back into each others' lives.

The only challenge with the writing for me was the new faces. Because they're new, it's harder to get a feel for what feels right for the characters. It's usually why I try to go off of how they're written in their RPs, their general body language and tone. I really hope everyone enjoyed their matches and I did them justice, I tried to make everyone have at least one moment in this tournament.

Congratulations to the winners, my hats off to everybody that participated. This was beyond my wildest dreams when I went to Wighty with a novel little concept. I hope you enjoy and with any luck, we'll see you all next year.

This was a ton of fun. I have personally been in a creative slump for...ever? I don't know, but it was cool to pull out the old Mistress style. I considered entering the party thread, but life got in the way. It is great to see all the activity that was stirred up, both from newcomers and long-time members. The show itself was amazing. That's really all I can say. Thanks to everyone involved for a great time.

I'm fairly certain I only agreed to enter Chester in the match BECAUSE this was conveyed to me, but I can't be sure if I vocalized that or not. I feel like I asked what would be required of me for this event first.

The show was incredible. I feel terrible for not having more to say about it because it was really really incredible. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and great seeing so many new faces. The party thread was chaotic to me for some reason. I had so much trouble keeping up with it, so I apologize for not being in it more. I did want Kim and/or April to show up but I didn't see an in for them with Hayden or Mike.

I'm super honored to be the last-ever NGIW Tag Team Champions with the Brick Sharks. One of my biggest regrets was not trying harder to win those on the one opportunity the Sharks had when NGIW was open last time. So, to have that now is just beyond amazing. A tremendous thank you to Jo for making it possible. You're a champ. A huge thank you to Wight for signing off on it, too. I really appreciate it.

I loved my roleplay for Kim Coulter for this event. I hope it came off the way I intended. I kept Kim in character, but it was essentially her thank you to NGIW for everything it's done for her. It really was the launchpad for her in-character and out-of-character.

Huge congrats to all the winners, especially Mr. Intensity and Joe Stanton for winning the two big ones. Boy and Nir have always given everything to NGIW so it's great to see them shining in the end.

You're absolutely 100% correct. I just forgot about it between reading the RPs and writing the show. Remembered before the show was posted, tho. :)

So that was definitely intense. Even though I knew Spectre Girls and had a huge feeling Roxie wasn't going to go far in the tournament, I was still quite drawn into their matches. Yes, I'm one of the ones missing out but truth told I haven't had much time to actually read the show in its entirety just yet. However, I hope to do so soon.

As I mentioned I knew well in advance the Spectre Girls were gonna lose the belts. I told Lita when she came to me with the initial idea that she would most likely manage to do more with the titles than I ever could (given that Eve and Mouse don't even compete anymore) so it just made sense to drop them. Lilith still goes, but that's an entirely different scenario. The match itself was definitely a brutal affair with a lot of enjoyable spots throughout. But still not being too over the top crazy.

Roxie's showing was pretty strong, for the two matches she was in. I kinda knew she was set on beating Lucas (given it was the trade off Lita offered, even though she knows what I really wanted :P) and then her losing the second round was alright. I put more focus on their attendance during the party and I did kinda close out their Twitter a year or so ago. Can't remember what it turned into after... So that certainly didn't help matters. I did want to get something up though, but I could never find the time/energy to focus on anything. Ugh.

Still though, I enjoyed writing in the party thread. Wish I could have mingled a little more but I'm ultimately glad to see the Eve/Vi thing put to rest. Not that I've been stewing over it for the past while, just one of those things it was nice giving closure to. Roleplaying with everyone else was a joy as well, even if they were just cameos. I tried to take advantage of the open doors and get everyone in that has, in some way, been a part of NGIW in the past. So guys like Jamie and Dexter, Crackerjack, Nell, Craig Stevens, even Catherine toward the tail end there. I was thinking Sara as well...but figured no. Just...no. Lol I know I missed a few out like Stan, Roger, and a few others but, again, time constraints.

So fair warning, from here on out is just strictly memory lane so feel free to skip. Unless you're already doing that. :P

Just seeing Roxie getting inducted into the Hall of Fame (much, much thanks for that, by the way) it does make me think back on her career. Her mixed reaction struggle up the hill, her short stay on top, and quick controversial tumble down. Wrestling in the buff, which I think was the inspiration to Wight's first draft of the commissioned Roxie/Vicky artwork. Obviously the bottlecap game and even moments before. Her trial of two three team runs (including Roxis, which I'm certain no one remembers lol), rivalry with Jaime (even if it was one-sided :P), and all fun things associated in between. Her first solo run, which was capped off with the revelation of her homosexuality in the same RP I decided to end the character. This was her first year in the industry so you can tell how long her retirement lasted. Lol Straight back to her very humble beginnings when she was just a bit player for another of my characters.

Though above all, my favorite moment has to be her original conception. I know I've told this before, how Adam's name would come first in the credits of her creation. But what I don't think has been shared a way in which he described her. He basically said she would be a whiny, attention seeking dancer with a very annoying high pitched voice that would grate her brothers nerves. He'd tell her to shut up but at the same time threaten anyone who mistreated her. Anyway, in effort to try and sell the high pitched voice to me, Adam used it. It is sometimes the most little of things that I find the most entertaining. But, in the end, it's just another award winning idea he's given me. Lol I'd call him a son of a bitch, but...yeah.

So it is again an honor seeing her immortalized as such. Thank you again. :)

My own notes on Great White Hype's induction...he'll always be Glamorous Adam and his themesong “Bulls on Parade” to me. lol

Wrestling in the buff, which I think was the inspiration to Wight's first draft of the commissioned Roxie/Vicky artwork.

I just draw rough outlines of a person's body so I can get some approximation to the way clothes would sit on them. I'm not great at it, but every little bit helps the realism of the piece... insofar as realism matters to a cartoon person.

If I wanted to draw her naked I wouldn't have been so shy about it. ;)
