Aye aye, could anyone advise on ferry routes for coming across in october? Are there any differences/advantages between stranraer/belfast or cairnryan/larne? I would be travelling fae NE scotland in my sprinter van? Are they strict about campervan/van differences, mine's nae really a campervan, just a panel van with side windows.Any general advice on making the crossing would be helpfull........ta

Hi Tony,

I'm not an expert on travelling with a van on the ferry but it doesn't really matter on which route as regards travel (Belfast is probably slightly easier to get to the North Coast from). I've a funny feeling that it might be cheaper to book it on as a camper but other people will be more clued in on that one.

Looking forward to seeing you all for the event.

Cheers

Ok Jonny,thankyou for replying.
I'll just keep firing different details and timings into the ferry price quotation sites to get an idea of costs. On some ferries there's a big difference in price between vans,as a commercial vehicle, and campers,as a leisure vehicle.
Hopefully I'll get there....

You should try and do a search under 'Stena Discount Codes' or 'P&O Irish Sea Discount Codes' and see what you come up with.

Peaceout

Andy.

Have a look at http://www.motorsport-travel.com/

I know a few people have booked ferries with them and got cheaper tickets than the operators were offering.
