Try a google search for cam buckle or divers weight belt buckle. You're looking for something like this: http://www.divecourses.co.uk/acatalog/Stainless_Steel_Weight_Belt_Buckle.html The plastic ones are as good or better but can be more expensive. Slipping as as much to do with the thickness of the webbing as much as the buckle so one has to match the other. Plenty of sources of webbing online too or from an autoshop. You want 50mm wide webbing but it's hard to find websites that specify the thickness. A hot glue gun will make an excellent join in webbing so one option would be to buy a purpose made waveski lapbelt and extend the webbing so it reaches round the back of your seat. Probably the most expensive option though. As with any lapbelt, homemade or otherwise, make sure you test it thoroughly in a safe environment before using it for real. Wrap duct-tape around the belt, not too much, i did this with mine, i find it grips perfectly now, but will still release quickly if needed. I just needed one layer of tape each side of the belt. To stop the tape pulling off the belt, put it on when belt is dry and heat it with a hair dryer for a few brief moments to let the glue sink in. Works wonders. Hope this helps, Mickey |
