Marty McCann (pictured above in Outsider Magazine) travels out to Reunion Island tomorrow for the first leg of the Association of World Waveski Professionals Pro Tour. He's one of two wild cards, invited to compete with the worlds top 14 waveskiers and the only competitor from the UK.

The comp runs from 2nd to 8th Nov and daily video highlights will be posted on Xavier Walser's site, http://www.subgraviti.com/subgraviti.php in the "worldriders tv" section.

There's more information on the competition and competitors on the AWWP's own site, http://www.awwp.org/

Marty might even get the chance to post something on his blog, http://oceanaddicts.com

This is a great achievement for Marty. I know he's super stoked to be going and has been training hard. Here's a short clip of him in action at the last training session before heading out, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ql1yzssUqs.

So, best of luck Marty, have a good one.

Harry

Thanks for the support chaps! Comp is going really well and the standard is just unbelievable! 14 year old girls doing aerials! Water is warm as about 26 degrees. I am still in the comp second leg and go into round three tomorrow. My heat is with my friend Yannick, so should be a bit of craic. Yannick is actually doing very well and as a relative unknown outsidfe France has raised a few eyebrows. He made it to the finals of the 1st leg only to be beaten by Renan Leloutre.
Think the swell is going to pick up again tomorrow. If only 2 meters at home was the same as here!
Xaver is doing a great job filming and editing. Keep up to date on the subgraviti site.

cheers

Marty

Well done Marty.
From what i can tell Marty finished in 10th position in the Reunion Island event. A great achievement in his first awwp event. Check out the footage from the last day, huge glassy and barrelling itself to bits.
