Well now it is my turn at the tube work. Got this tuber a while back and decided to change things around. These were the lower rear link mounts. Not much room for movement. Hacked em and put on some tamiya stays. ![]() ![]() Found a used CJ body for cheap but was mounted on a maxx. I'm not sure how much I want to cut off it. I like the full body look but I bet it would look nice without the cab too. ![]()

Todd, I think the look is AWESOME. I'm just a bit nervous on performance. They won't do as well as a lot of the others. They are a bit big too. |

Finally got to work on it tonight. Couldn't find the spring perches for my TLT shocks so it's not sitting on its own. ![]() ![]() Rear truss came out pretty decent. Just have to trim down those axle mounts in the case I won't be using and get some straight axle adapters to clean up the axle. ![]() Stretched the WB just a hair to 12 3/8". Body is getting hacked tomorrow. It needs ALL kinds of trimming ![]() ![]() 646 RTI. Looks like I have to limit some travel to run with scale rigs. ![]() ![]() I'm thinking an R2 is in order to make room for the interior. |

trim that front bumper lip off to. and if you trim a little more of the front side of the fenders you will have the flat fender look. looks pretty sweet.. |

That is my plan Matt but people on the other forums wanted to see how it looked like that. I don't like the curved front fenders. It'll look goofy with the stinger too. More cutting is in my future |

what are you going to do about side panels and roof? I would use some of that stationary expanded metal stuff myself that would look trail tuff plus it would help your imaginary driver with blind spots. |

Well I keep thinking about running an R2 with dig so I can get an interior in there. I'd like side panels but I'm not sure. I have seen plenty of them run a hood only. |

Well I got it on the rocks last night and it was way over geared. It wouldn't climb stuff until it had at least 1/4 throttle. I was running 21/90 gearing which is 4.29:1 Do you think going to 12/66 (5.5:1) would make a big difference? Maybe even 11/66 (6:1) |

New gearing tomorrow, Taking out the foams in the tires to see if that helps with traction a bit. Started cutting and mocking up the stinger bar. I'm not happy with the hoop. It started to kink. Good practice though. ![]()

I was told if it doesn't kink to bad just to tap it with a hammer and that should push it back in enough. I'll give that a shot. I'm just debating if I should tear the whole thing down to try and get it all brazed up or just run it as is saturday. I'd really like the battery and shocks remounted though. |

Tight bends will do that, so you can file it down a bit on the inside and tap the outsinde and then grind/file the whole thing. or try not to make such a tight radius. OR... you could heat the piece up as you bend it, the longer side will stretch easier and the short side will shrink. |

woohoo a pic of it on the course! ![]() For those of you skeptical about the castle BEC. Don't be. I'm running the castle BEC off a 3S lipo to a Tower Pro MG995 servo using 7.0v. The tower pro is rated to 7.2v. It states 196oz on 7.2v and transit time of .13 on 6.0v so it's gotta be quicker than the .13 transit. It moves the weighted 2.2 slingers like they are nothing. That speed and power couple with the turning radius of the axial axles is amazing. |
