So I got myself an AX-10 for my birthday. I have it mostly built up stock. I wanted to try it out stock before I started tweeking it. I do want to go brushless, but I have never used a brushless set-up before. I was hoping you guys could steer me towards a good ESC and motor to use. I am also thinking of going Lipo too, and don't know alot about them either. So some suggestions would be great. I am thinking about a new body, tires, wheels and making some delrin links (I'm not crazy about the green). I hope to have it comp ready by the next Freddies date. Pics. soon! |

Man everyone is going AX10 style! haha Harley just got one friday. I can give you some suggestions on lipos but I'm trying to learn about brushless myself right now. I'm running a mamba 25 esc and Scorpion 2215 motor in my CJ tuber and I'm really thinking about going with a heftier combo. I think it might be hard on this combo since the rig has some weight to it. I'm running on a 3S lipo. I've been tweaking left and right with the esc to try and get it dialed in. I REALLY like Apogee packs and I use a Duratrax Ice charger and a blinky balancer. No problems here. |

I wouldnt you wont be able to do all the programming you could with a mamba max or a mamba. maybe for a beater or somthin i was gonna drowned but if it is gonna be a comp rig or even close I wouldnt waste the money. quote: Actiyator of brushless motor Use for both aeroplane and helicopter of electromotion. Backspin: adjust the line of brushless motor to reach positive and negative turn. There is protecting program to stop run when the voltage is too low. Automatism stop to avoid injury the people when the remote control signal can be found Sustaining voltage:6-25v you better watch out it has autism. and electromotion

Current wise I don't see why it wouldn't work? I like the castle stuff because you can program it all through the computer. Makes tuning really easy. |

Looking into it, I may be better off trying a Rooster Crawler and a good 50 or 60 turn brushed motor. I don't know. I will throw something in it to get it running, then figure it out later. I will be changing the tires for sure! A nice set of Mashers maybe. Or maybe the Losi tires. The body has to go too. Don't know yet what I will do for the body. Maybe a bug. The quality of the parts and the value of the kit is great. The included little things make all the difference. The aluminum hexs, servo mounts, radio tray, chassis, lockers, spacers & links are really nice. The shocks seem OK. The axles are majorly sweet! I will be using more of these in the future! So far I am super impressed!

Get the driveshaft fix right away! It will help out a bunch. I use the Quark 33 in my rigs. I have a little BM9 in Brandon's AX10, its great for him. It will unwind if it gets into to much of a bind. I use the Holmes Crawlmasters in my other comp rigs. I really like them. Check out Holmes Hobbies. He has some great combo's now. Good Luck! Tom |

What is the drive shaft fix? I'm running the AX10 axles in my CJ and I'm running the maxx shafts and it sucks. It works but they aren't centered nicely. I cut down a traxxas set screw so that it would work on the axial axle. I was going to just drill through the ax10 pinion shaft but thought I would search first. |

The driveshafts pop off on the stock AX10 kit when in a bind(mild bind in my eyes). They have some collars to prevent the shafts from disconnecting. |

I did see the thing about the rings. Wouldn't it be better using Stampede metal yokes with Pede shafts? |

I know the pinion shaft is 6mm on the axial. I'd like to run a metal yoke. When I start to tighten down the maxx yoke it starts to tweak to the side making the drive shaft appear to wobble even though it's on there tight. |

they are 5mm in fact in a pinch pede shafts slide into the axil shafts.... im not sure if they fit the yokes though.. i'll have to look You'll love the axial..outta the box its great.. a little tweaking and its amazing I just dropped some coin at TCS for some upgrades for mine

I had it backwards. I know they are 5mm it was the outputs on my WK tranny that were the larger 6mm shafts. |

For brushless, you can go little (Mamba-25 and a Park 400 outrunner) or go big (Mamba Max and a Holmes Crawlmaster). Either one will work, depending on your driving style and how you adjust to it. If you're after ultimate torque, go for the big combo Nice of them to include a motor plate for small outrunners. We may get this AX10 class off the ground yet... |

Yeah I think the ax10 route might be the best bet for me as well, i really dont have the interest in the 2.2 comp class... Im more into the scale stuff than teamo extremo. But at the same time I dont wanna sit out while everyone else is runnin lol. |

The AX-10 is definalty a good rig. With a few minor mods it really could be a great performer. However, if you all get a AX-10 Brandon will lose his edge.
