The doctor is in.

Okay, so this is a weird one. Maybe it was because of the Anime, maybe you had a different mental image from the game or maybe it just seems weird, but for whatever reason, you found out a Pokemon's official size and it blew your mind. Which one shocked you the most?

My example: Ledian. Did you know those things are 4'7"? Yeah! They're the size of a thirteen year old boy with wings and four arms of Comet punching death!

Joltik, no pun intended. I got used to the bugs being huge compared to real-world bugs. Only to find out that it's only 4 inches. Sure that's a big tick, but a really small PokÚmon.

Clamperl. A whopping 115.7 lbs. for a clam with a pearl in it? That's crazy!

Charizard is 5' 7", Zapdos is 5' 3", Gengar is smaller than Haunter, Klingklang and Amoongus are both as big as Poliwag, Luvdis, and Munna, Nidoqueen and Gastly are both 4' 3", Staraptor is 3' 11", Venonat is as tall as Ferrothorn, Persian, Reuniclus, Magneton, and Primeape, Excadrill is 2' 4", which is Cascoon's size, and most importantly, Magikarp is bigger than Galvantula. Also, it's hard to believe Kabuto and Cinccino are the same size.

Second the Nidoking thing.

That's one of the few things I prefer about the anime: They at least try to have the sizes of the Pokemon MAKE SENSE.

I always thought Azumarill was a lot taller than 2'07".... same goes for Dewott.

And Larvesta being bigger than 3' surprised me too, I always thought it'd be smaller than that. O.o;

Going off the in-game dimensions Wailord is about a third as dense as air.

The more you think about that one, the more it hurts...

Well remember, Kadabra DOES have that enormous tail that Alakazam finds tacky and doesn't wear. So there's that. :v:

Kadabra is kinda fat and has a massive tail.

Alakazam is skinny as hell and has no tail.

And if Wailord is a 1/3rd as dense as air, that explains a bit about how it doesn't crush Skitty...

Dude
I used to assume Scolipede was about the same size as most other "big" pokemon, like final-stage starter pokemon.
...He's 8'02" tall. I feel sorry for anyone in the Pokemon world who's afraid of bugs.

And I can't be the only one who used to think Dratini was, well, teeny. 5'11" was not what I was picturing. Sure, that's mainly its body length, but that's still big for a Pokemon that looks so cute and small appearance-wise. The first time I caught one on Hey You, Pikachu!, I was incredibly shocked.

Some others:
-Skarmory is as big as Charizard and Articuno
-Golbat and Noctowl are as big as Emboar, Magmortar, and Tentacruel
-Darkrai and Cresselia are the same size
-Bastiodon is only 4'3"
-Klang and Klinklang are the exact same size

Drapion is only 4'3 which is weird. Just looking at the thing I always thought that it'd be at least 5'10 or 11.

It's based off a blimp, too! So that explains the lack of weight.

Pew to you, good sir.

Marowak is three feet tall. Not too weird, but with its body structure, it looks like one of those ones that's still really short.

Oddish and Gloom are the same size. Bellossom is shorter.

Well, yeah, but the only way it could have any sort of functional skin (which of course it does) is if it's a vacuum inside. So due to air pressure all Wailord would be collapsing in on themselves unless they were in space... which, being whales, they're not....

OH GOD MY HEAD I'M THINKING ABOUT THIS TOO MUCH
