@Tokyo: I'm the same way. I used to go to Church all the time (technically I'm Methodist), but after a while when I became more enlightened and learned more about the truth, I stopped going. I was sick of hearing lies. Plus every year my church had a poster on their bullitin board for Focus on the Family. After I watched the "For The Bible Tells Me So" documentary, yeah, I'm not going to any church that promotes THEM. @Za: It's amazing, seriously! If you don't cry at at least one part of it, I don't know what else I could say to you, XD. |

@kiwi - men in skirts? move to arizona. we have them everywhere. cute men, too! xD @kirvee - i was sick of being told what a person would go to hell for. it was all so hypocritcal. i was also sick of "friends" preaching the word of God, acting against it in anyway possible, and yelling at other people to obey the word. it was ridiculous. |

@Tokyo: Exactly =/. In fact, eventually all I went to church for was just so I could help the little kids in Sunday School because that was SO MUCH better than listening to a sermon and falling asleep during it. Then eventually I got sick of getting up that early on the weekend. |

@Za: ...You have absolutely no idea how happy I am right now. Honestly. I think you just took a weight off of my chest as well. There's so much argument about homosexuality being immoral and wrong but... I couldn't bring myself to think that it was wrong. It just made no sense. I mean, all the other sins - think of the ten commandments - have reasons behind them. They harm people and even possibly the person who committed those acts. So... that was the one thing that didn't make sense to me but... I had no solid reasoning for why. So, thank you very, very much. @Tokyo: ;3; -kisses because there are no words- |

@ ChiharuSato22 - Awww... I'm really glad I spoke up then, if it managed to help folks out in some way. The Bible and history/science actually go hand-in-hand harmoniously. One helps prove the other, back and forth, more than most folks realize. So much can be figured out by a combination of facts and feelings, as long as one takes the time to examine both equally. I gotta thank the internet for making all this knowledge available. More folks just need to be brave enough to look for it (I'm looking at you, ultra-conservatives). Now I just hope the word can spread so more people can realize the grave error of condemning what's not necessarily wrong. Even if it's just a quick quip of telling someone to read MORE of Leviticus before deciding to take him seriously, I'm hoping word will spread eventually. (You can bet this won't be the only place I'll post that blurb ;) ). Anyways, ugh, I ramble when I'm tired. Me go sleeps for now. ^_^;; |

@kirvee - i couldn't make myself stay. luckily, i never had to. my mother is catholic and irritated that i consider myself protestant. but it's not like she ever goes to church. so i went with my friends to find a church. i stuck with 2 for a while, but they got ridiculous when i realized the opposing ideas they had against each other. i'll go on christmas and with my boyfriend's family on occasion, but that's it. it seems like, with an uprise in people being more open about their sexuality, churches are making how "sinful" they think a sexual preference is more important than the actual word of God. i also got tired of churches treating their members as if we were supposed to worship the church instead of God. @kiwi - well if you ever get the chance/desire, i know one very lovely boy who will wear a skirt for you. xD @chi - *snuggles* |

@Tokyo: Yeah, I am pretty much the only one of my currently-three-person family who bothered to get up for Church, my dad would just take me and drop me off and pick me up. Now I only go for certain holidays or pot lucks or whatnot. And yeah, that is lulzy. Lulzy fail to be exact. I also hate that. Personally, I can worship my God any tme of any day and anywhere I damn feel like, I don't need a building telling me when. |

@Za: ;u; I was wondering if you knew the original text for 1 Corinthians 6:9 which reads, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders". I've also been reading up on things but I'm not too sure what to make of this: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/w...to-gay-marriage Life is confusing. D': @Tokyo: iluuuu -sniffs- ;A; -clings- You raised the issue that bothers me the most. And, that aside, sexuality also seems to be taboo in terms of discussion. It is what it is and we shall not speak of it at all. It leaves me with absolutely no answers to my questions, to be honest. ZaCloud gave me more answers than anyone ever has. |

@Chi and Za: I got a reference of the original Greek texts from a friend of my mum's and I'm looking for the Old Testament as well. If anybody can direct me to it, it'll be great. Stuff about the culture in the Middle East, Rome, and Greece at that time would be great too. Za, there were a couple of ambiguities in what you said, so I'm going to do a little research of my own. Just want to see it for myself :> And I want to be ready in case anybody ever confronts me about it without having to quote what I didn't read myself. EDIT: Chi, about that link, they failed right here: "Jesus, the Creator, is the Word. The Bible is the written Word. Every word in the Bible is really the Word of the Creator—Jesus Christ." Well, no. Jesus and God are not one in the same, and therefore Jesus is not the Creator. If you want me to elaborate on this and where it is addressed in the Bible, IM me :U Buuut as for the rest of it. I'm still doing my research ;| |

@Kuma: I think they may be referring to the Holy Trinity and that, in essence, they are one and the same and yet different? D; I have no idea. TO IM. |
