@Kuma: Really? FTM or MTF (if I may ask)?

I've found in certain things regarding that, you just have to keep fighting. It took me MANY years of fighting my mom for her to finally just give up trying to make me not wear guy clothes. She still quips about it every now and then (I think there was only one occasion where she insulted me by saying I looked butch), but generally it goes: "Mom, I want this pair of shorts/this shirt/this hoodie." "Ok, dear."

@Ein: I know ;-;. This is the problem with America, we have the people who have rights infringing on the civil rights of other people and the government is doing jack shit about it.

@Kirvee: FTM |>

Rather than trying to get me to not wear guy clothes (because she knows that's a total lost cause) she tries to get me to wear pretty things (which is just as futile, but she tries anyway). But I don't attach gender to colors or clothing. I like what I like, and I dislike what I dislike.

I could go on about this forever lmao.

@Kuma: That's awesome~.

Yeah, my mom tried doing that as well. This one time, she insisted that I try wearing a camisole in place of my usual mens undershirt. Most disgusting piece of clothing EVER. I couldn't even have it on more than a few seconds before I started getting grossed out by it.

She finally got to the point now where she just lets me pick my own clothes in the store. I never touch the womens or girls section (can't even walk through it without getting just a bit quesy).

Sadly it's only my mother. One of my aunts still thinks I like to receive girly looking clothes for Christmas and the other knows my clothing preference and yet still tries to buy me girl clothes (but she tries to have them look boyish???).

I try not to attach gender to a lot of things, but when it comes to things like clothes I can't help it. I even attach gender to cars, XD. (I'm weird, don't mind me)

I don't mind =D. This kind of conversation is interesting to me.

@Kirvee: I identify as male, but a somewhat femme male XD So I just prefer to say I'm closer to gender neutral.

Like, I like lolita. I really like lolita. I'm in love with the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and the clothes are no exception. I wear lolita. ....but to me, it feels more like crossdressing than anything XD We also have two other brolitas in our community, so it's pretty awesome.

Sorry for being so late orz

@Kuma: Ah, that's cool =).

Some people claim I cross-dress when I wear guy clothes, but to me it's just wearing clothes (that happen to serve a function other than fashion unlike 98% of girl clothes).

I'm more bigender, but it's a bit, eh, hard to explain. Physically I'm female, hormonally I'm male, mentally I'm half-and-half. IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE, lol.

It's ok, we're all a little late for important dates sometimes, XD. /lame joke

@Kirvee: Cool. If I really explained myself, I wouldn't make any sense either, so it's cool XD

@Kuma: Hehe. If I tell people my hormone levels, the immediate question is usually "How are you even a GIRL?!" It's quite hilarious to watch, actually, XD.

NnO is a truly great manga if it can bring together a fandom of all kinds of people.

@Kuma: XD. Basically, I have off-the-chart testosterone and so little estrogen/pergestoren that those two are basically non-existant in comparison to the level of testosterone.

@Kuma: I really don't know, XD. I suspect I was born that way, but my mom frequently attempts to "fix" it, but I refuse to take any hormone meds. It doesn't cause me any problems, so no need to fix it imho.

I sorry >_<.

It's interesting how Nabari seems to attract those with gender identities or perspectives that go against what the average person thinks (never mind how uninformed the average person is, that's a rant for another day). I'm physically female, but I've tentatively identified as genderqueer for the past year or so. I'm not sure whether this stems from things I had to deal with in high school or what, but I just don't feel comfortable with male/female binary, nor do I feel like I have a place in it, I prefer androgyny.

Gender theory is interesting, anyway.

But yeah, sort of back on topic, I think what America needs to work towards is a separation of church and state. The religious beliefs of one group should not be deciding laws in a country that preaches freedom. Are any of you fans of Bill Maher, by any chance?

@Radio: It is interesting. Perhaps that's part of what makes Nabari such an amazing series?

And I agree. I firmly believe that marriage is not--and never was--a religious right. I mean, people got married (in whatever sense of the word fit the time) WAY before Christianity appeared, it's only because of the Crusades and such that marriage somehow gained a rep as being religious only.

But when you think about it, there's no single solution for this problem. I mean, I've thought of a system that may work, but it would ultimately lead to segregation, and if we learned ANYTHING from the African-American rights movement, segregation is a no-no.

But basically, the government would edit the definition of marriage to something akin to "a union between two willing and loving individuals til death do they part." and then once that was done, the government would either mandate the creation of special churches/buildings where gay people could be married, or some churches with a more loving, accepting and open congregation would allow gay people to marry in their churches.

It's not the best idea in the world, but I can't think of a good alternative that doesn't create segregation.

And that guy's name sounds familiar, but I can't recall anyone...

@Kuma: IT'S LIKE WE'RE IN SYNC HERE, XD

I know, and I applaud those churches and hope they will never stop doing what they're doing, because my God this country needs good examples.

I was told a few years ago a story about a nearby church to where I live. Apparently there used to be a coffee shop (or something like it) down the street from a church. The storeowners were gay-friendly and so they had a sign in their window that basically said that gay people are welcome here.

So the pastor of the church got wind of it and he, so I heard, preached to the highest heavens and talked bad about the shop and told his congregation not to go there because they "served sinners". So no one from the church went to the shop (apparently without the church goers, visitors to the shop were very few) and eventually the lack of customers drove the little shop out of business. All because of that pastor. THAT is the kind of church attitude I do not want to see become widespread.

@squid: lol yeah. It's okay though :U As long as the message in the OP is still reaching.

@radio: Yeah I noticed that too. If I sat down and thought about it, genderqueer would probably be the best way to describe me as well. .....can you be trans and genderqueer at the same time? <__> Sex and gender are different after all, but....

Oh, I've seen/heard of a bit of his stuff, but I generally don't pay attention to any entertainers orz

@Kirvee: lol I had some hormonal problems a couple of years back but it only lasted a few months. We never discovered why >__o

edit: WE KEEP REPLYING AT THE SAME TIME OMG.

There are some churches that do gay marriages :U Even if they aren't legal marriages.
