@Chi: This may be opinion, but it sounds to me like you've fallen into the Church's trap. They WANT you to be so fearful that you'll never speak out against them. Nothing in history gets changed without someone finally standing up and telling them "Hey, you're all pretty fucked up and wrong, just so you know." Never stay silent! If you believe and support gay rights/gay marriage, never be afraid of standing by that. If you don't, it makes you look indecisive. And if the school tries to kick you out, then they have even more problems. And of course there's gay people in your school. They're being forced to hide in fear and hating themselves because of what the Church teaches, which is why many kill themselves. If you stand by your belief and show you support them and believe in their rights even in the face of opposition, then you'd be like a light of hope, of sorts. But yeah, it's times like these that make me glad I'm in American public schooling. I would die before anyone forces me to go to a Christian school. @Kuma: Since I was 5, the plan is to have three daughters by the time I die, I even have two of them named already (I can never decide a name for the third one, so I may just leave her name up to whoever I marry). I intend to stick to this plan, even if I know how much pregnancy is a bitch (but in a way, it's 9 months without a period, SO). Btw, forgive me if this is a stupid question, but do you prefer to be referred to as male or female? I automatically assume everyone in this fandom is female, but I've heard it's an insult to trans people not to call them by the gender they're trying to match their bodies to, so... @Everyone: The college I'm going to (in Arizona) has 80% male and 20% female, and from what I was told by my host when I went to tour the school last month, most of the girls and some of the guys are LGBT. We even have a GSA, which is AWESOME! My soon-to-be-roomie is bi too (so was my host), so... And to whoever said it originally, I also don't understand girls AT ALL. Even though I may be mentally half of one, that half does not help me understand the purpose or the general function of purses or traveling to the bathroom in packs, or gossip, or any other weird thing girls do. I just don't get it =/. |

kirvee: girls go to bathroom in packs so... they don't get raeped? to gossip while digging through their purses? /orzz idk (well, except for maybe the purses bit-- it's to put your shit in. Though my "purse" contains an old wallet, loose change, my DS, sketchpads, and lots and lots of paper ;;;;;) Re:link-- It... makes me head (and heart) hurt. I agree with radio on a potential solution-- a real separation from church and state (funny, that's what this nation was supposed to be built on...) |

@Squid: See now, that's what I don't get. A typical purse carries all manner of stuff, but 95% of it is absolutely useless. All I ever need to carry with me are my phone, my wallet, chapstick, and keys (if I get a car ever). ALL of which can be easily carried around in pockets. However another thing that confuses and annoys me (and is one reason I don't wear them) is that ALL manner of girly clothes with pockets only have pockets for "fashion" purpose. The pockets are never deep enough to completely hide your fist and they serve no other function. On the other hand, guy pockets are nice and deep and serve their purpose. So I ask, what is with women and wearing/doing useless things? @Kuma: WELL, I'm 18 if that means anything, XD. (D-Did you see my wall-of-text post at the top of this page?) |

@Kirvee: Well I have this... weird infatuation with any kind of containment device/gear, bags/backpacks included. I'm also a packrat, so.... ._____. It's also because, you said it, most girl clothes do not have awesomely large pockets to hold all my junk in /orzzz I used to just chuck whatever I could in my pockets, but now I sort of wear a mix of attire (some with no pockets at all, the travesty!), so I just lug around this chibi-backpack. It can often be really irritating to carry, but I like having my random junk with me ffff They do/wear useless things to look good? That's.... pretty much it, I guess /orzz |

i'm too lazy/exhausted to go through the whole thread but GRRRR!!! that's sooo grrrr. just.... /headdesk. REALLY!? love is love. love knows no gender. if two people love one another, the right to be together is THEIRS, and nobody else's. i'm christian and one of the things i hate most about my religion is the manymanymany people (some of who i love) having these ideas that if you're gay, you're doomed to hell. i mean, i'm not one to talk about religion, money, and politics. those things are deadly subjects, but when it comes to things like this? there's an exception if i've ever seen one. homophobia, religion, and all other personal beliefs are NOT an excuse to destroy a couple's life together, especially when it's in its final moments. that's heart breaking. :( when i was younger i knew a gay boy (a very adorable boy that i still kyaa~ over) and he actually stood up in the middle of class and yelled at the studends and the teacher over this type issue. he ended up making a few people cry (including himself). |

Twirble's age is 30 (I think I can say that since it was posted on MF...), and I'm 21, so...WRONG! O_O @Kirvee: I had this shirt with these like... 2 inch deep "pockets" on the sides...no purpose whatsoever, XD. Which reminds me I needs to get me some dude jeans... @tokyo: Agreed. That's really great that you knew some who could speak out about being gay and effect others. |

I...never saw this wall of text orz Okay first, how do I put this... In general, irl I don't like being referred to as female because whenever it's said, it carries all the connotations of being female (like behaving like a young lady and carrying yourself like a young woman and dressing yourself like...you get it XD;;) and there's a lot of emphasis on it and I don't like that. But when it's other people who know I'm trans or other people who are also outside of the normal gender binary/people who are not heteronormal (and often BL fangirls fall under this lol), it tends to be less bothersome because I know that we share the same feelings and that it's really only an empty pronoun that's referring to me, rather than my current sex. Because I mean, I refer to myself as fujoshi, which is female. So I'm saying, she is fine XD;; I mean, as far as sex goes, I'm more comfortable with male, but as far as gender goes, like I said, I'd probably be androgynous. ...yeah. Also, the art school I'm going to has a GSA too :> As a matter of fact, when you tour the school, most of the students will tell you that joining the GSA is the fastest way to make friends. I don't understand most things girls do either. And for the record, my purse is more like an electronics bag. This is what it usually carries: DSi, sometimes the DS lite too, my DS games, PSP, cellphone, keys, charge cord for cell and DSi, wallet, flash drive, aircard, headphones, pencil/pen, digicam, laptop mouse, and sunglasses. Yep. @kiwi: I buy those rare girl jeans that are loose and have real pockets. @everybody: Do you like clothes shopping? I don't understand the notion of clothes shopping. First of all, I don't like American fashion to begin with. Second of all, if I like it, it doesn't have to be name brand. Third of all, most of the stuff I like is import lol. And fourth of all, when I do need clothes, I am totally okay with thrift stores/outlets. Who needs retail? And when I say I'm going shopping? It's usually to a game store or an electronics store. Or an anime/manga or Asian store. Or a bookstore. Or the farmer's market. |

@kuma: You mean "boyfriend" jeans? I do not like clothes shopping. Both because it's boring, and nothing fits me properly (especially pants). I never shop for anything else much either *refuses to get a job*. I will go online for clothes...but that's rare. I have so many old clothes I still wear, lol. Didn't you say you liked to wear lolita? I wish had da hawts to pull that off, XD (yeah, cant decide on a more "normal" girly body or being a dude lol;;). |

@Squid: My mom has a purse and it's ridiculous. It only has like two (rather shallow) interior pockets and she attempts to organize everything in there in bags. She has pads in one, assorted make-up (ew...) in another, her ID and other important cards in another, etc, etc. SHE has a hard time finding anything quickly in that bottomless pit and she complains constantly about how heavy it is. Plus, my opinion is that, a purse is easy to steal, your pockets are not so vulnerable. Like, my favorite pair of guy shorts (they're so amazing, they're like cargo style a bit) has a total of four insanely deep pockets. The top two on the sides are closed by velcro, the bottom two are zipper. @Tokyo: Word! When I was a freshman and sophmore in high school, I knew a girl two years older than me who's a lesbian. She was cool, loud-mouthed and rather hilarious and it seemed to me that she was proud of her sexuality (she apparently also made a ring in Jewelry that said "Pride" on it). Last year when i was a junior I knew two gay guys who were dating each other. It seems I know a lot of gay people, according to my FB, XD. @Kiwi: Twirble's 30?! I feel like that's a lie... It's SO ridiculous! Before I finally stood before my mom and told her I was sick of it, my selection of pants/jeans included ones with super shallow pockets that JUST BARELY held my phone in them, and jeans/pants that had no pockets at all. I-I want some guy jeans someday....but I don't have the waist for them. My pants, guys or girl, have to be elastic around the waist in order to fit over my belly ;-;. @Kuma: Ah, I see. It wasn't confusing, don't worry! I just wanted to be sure cuz I didn't want to accidentally offend you or anything... I have a bag like that too. I just call it "my bag" and I made sure it was the manliest-looking one I could find. It holds all of my GB/GBA/DS games in one pouch and my GBA, GBA:SP, DS, link cable, game shark, and other handheld game accessories in it. I only take it with me when we leave the house for long periods of time so I'm not amazingly bored wherever I go. As for your question, I don't like clothes shopping in the sense that most girls use it for. I loathe going into a store and trying on a million things trying to look "cute". Most of the time if I buy clothes, it's usually not because I was looking for them. Often times if I'm in a department store or a mall I'll gravitate to a male clothing store intending to just peruse and see what they have. I only buy something if I love it so much i want to wear it immediately. If we happen to go somewhere like Target or Wal-Mart, I'll usually stop by the mens clothing area to look through T-shirts before continuing on to my usual Electronics area. Also, my "I'm going shopping." means the exact same thing as yours, XD. |

@Kirvee: Oh, no, that's not what I mean. I mean... Ugh, I suck at explaining things. I really, really do. I would. I would stand up and yell. Because it's one of the things that breaks my heart. But... I wish I knew you guys in person. I have no one to lean on at school. You're right. There might be a couple of gay kids. Our school has like... four hundred people max.? Ugh. 700, if you add in the primary school. But, honestly, it's a school where you know everyone. So... I don't really think there are. And... I stand out already, y'know? But, yeah, I am scared. But not exactly of what you said. I don't want to get expelled. And I don't want it to get back to my mom. She's fine with gay people; her boss was gay, I mean, and she had co-workers that were gay. They were friends. But, honestly, it wouldn't do well for her. I don't want more trouble for her anyway. I mean, I already said it but... I don't want to get expelled. What I hate is that... I think people have stopped thinking. Things are wrong - but with reason. I have yet to come up with a single reason as to why being gay is wrong. There are animals that are gay too. It happens in nature. So why... why? There hasn't ever been a why. At least, no one's given me a why. Is it really that wrong? Can you really hate someone for it? You might as well hate someone because they were a girl, if that's how you feel. You might as well hate someone for their hair. Or their eyes. Or their skin. You'd be hating them for something they couldn't change. And I see no reason to change it. I mean, I've always thought that... there's so much persecution and hatred for the gay community... how hard must it have been for them to admit it to themselves? No one chooses to be different. Especially when people would hate you for it. It's something they can't help. Why are people so horrible? Why do people never think for themselves? @Tokyo: What did the boy say? @Everyone: I know I'm the youngest here. And, probably, the tallest. -laughs- |

@Chi: The fact that you ARE afraid of expulsion further proves you are where they want you. The fear of being expelled from the school means you'll be too afraid to speak up with that consequence hanging over your head. From my experience, the Church is all about control, and fear is just one of many ways they do it (why do you think the Puritans preached about how God would drop you into Hell if you broke this rule, or this rule, or didn't go to church ever Sunday, or a million other asinine things they came up with). You should talk to your mom about it. If she's really supportive, she'd be there for you too in the face of expulsion, so she'd be a person to lean on, yes? I agree with you, but unfortunately most Christian's do not see what we see. Most Christians (more specifically, the hardcore ones) shun scientific fact, so imo their prejudice and hate is from their self-induced ignorance. They ignorantly believe what is placed in front of them (the Bible) and think everything outside of it is wrong/a lie/a sin. Likely, the only "reason" I've heard people (especially my mom) say it's wrong is because "The Bible says so." Yes, well, the Bible also says you can't eat shellfish, you can stone your wife and sell your daughter into slavery and not to eat pork and a BUNCH of other shit that we don't do or believe anymore. It's really hard for a lot of them. One of the books I have, that happens to be my favorite, is a collection of personal tales from a bunch of different gay Americans on their coming out experience and what they had to go through. One of the stories was told by a black lesbian priest (I can't remember her name for the life of me...) and in her story she told about how when she was in her teens she went to the Church to tell them what was wrong with her and that she couldn't change it and the priest she was talking to actually tried to rape her to "make her straight". I wish people would think for themselves ;-;. *hugs* |

Lol. Well not that being 30 is a bad thing, but I'm not sure anyone, unless they were actually older, would lie about that. XD The fact that all these girl jeans lack good pockets is the only reason I carry a SMALL purse. When I only need my wallet...I feel like if I put it in my back pocket, someone will attack me and successfully steal it. o-o It's like they say " @Chiharu: I feel bad for the situation you're in...it must feel good to let out your thoughts here. BTW, I'm 6 ft tall. Hehe. @Kirvee: I guess it's just that some religions outright think having relations with the same gender is gross, and probably moreso the fact same genders can't procreate. Whoopdy doo man. Is..there a way to quote more than one body of text at a time on this type of forum? |
