@ZaCloud: Wow, nicely said there! I had no idea about the sexuality of man-boy relationships was dealt with in Greek and Roman times...Now I can understand alittle why Christians are thinking the way they are about gay relationships (it's still wrong of course...).

Swap that on a prompter for an anti-gay Christian television program, lol.

@Kiwi: I kinda knew about the Greek/Roman ones, but I didn't know it was a cause of the prejudice. Although now that I think about it, it makes sense since a lot of the Bible was made to counter a lot of common Pagan traditions (like Christmas, Easter, some of Christ's miracles...).

@Za: I am now your no. 1 fan. Well said!

Yar, in ancient Greece, a male-female relationship was about procreation, but a male-male relationship was considered the coming together of kindred spirits. C: You know Socrates? He was gay too--he loved a young man named Alcibiades.

Please don't think I'm an overzealous history freak by saying this, LOL.;; I actually learned this from a shounen-ai manwha. <3

@Ein: If you think about it, a lot of the philosophies, principles and works of literature and art we consider masterpieces today came from gay men.

Amazing, isn't it?

@Kiwi: I meant the CLASSIC works, but Kamatani can be considered a modern one (that's actually either bi or lesbian) if our theories are correct....

@Kirvee: I know what you meant, but yeah I'm sayin' that all the greatest works are done by the gays, lol.

I wonder what Kamatani and her "assistant" are doing at this hour...

@tokyo: Ah, we did have weeabo cosplayers, too, though XD;;
Yeah same. I mean sure it was a Japanese cultural event but..... ;;;
(what made it more derpy was a group of them dancing to Caramell Dansen)

there's too much thread to go through!
so i'm just responding to this (since i probably agree with everyone anyway.) lulz

I LOVE DANCING TO CARAMELL.
:lol:

*brick'd*

EDIT: okay. now i've skimmed through.

@za - i'm the SAME way. i'm christian and i do NOT see homosexuality as a sin. AND if it is - IF - i'm certainly not one of those hypocrites that preaches "OH! GOD FORGIVES!.......unless you're a homosexual."
that's not right. that's just retarded.

i agree. with all of it.

in fact, i got so tired of my beliefs versus my churchs' (many multiple churches), that i quit going. the number of times i attend a service does not judge what kind, or how "good," of a christian i am.

love is love. i believe that God has somebody for EVERYBODY. if that person is a man for a man, that can't be wrong.

the manxboy love back in the day is awesome.
i've always been a fan of that... to a certain level.
lol.

@Ein: Ohhh Socrates XD
Silly ol man-thing
Alcibiades! That sounds so familiar T_____T
Wait, wasn't there a guy who was head-over-heels for Socrates (who just kinda sorta brushed him away)? That's not him is it @____@ *crap memory is crap*

I also knew about the man-boy relationships in ancient Greek and Roman culture, but I didn't know about the protocol involved (the gift-giving, etc) that resembles the rituals of marriage. Interesting.

... I also still strongly stand by the statement that those of genius are often crazy, gay, or both. /shot anyway

@kirvee - Oooh, I'll indeed check for that link when I have more time to read this whole thread. I'm in the process of moving and things are hectic so it'll be a while, but I love to keep myself educated.

@everyone - Tankoooo. :3 I just had to get that off my chest, and I'm glad it was useful in some form or another.

Seriously, it's God's job to decide ultimately what's right or wrong. Any human who thinks they can dictate if you're going to Hell or not, is being downright blasphemous. They can't respect God if they think they're God themselves. Ugh!

Thanks to anime/manga and its ambiguities, I don't even think about gender or orientation unless I put effort into it. Others might find me weird when I casually talk about the weather with a guy in a mini-skirt and feather boa, or when I say "Awww, how romantic" if I see a lesbian couple snuggling on a park bench.

I love seeing it all the same. It makes life so much nicer. Except when the people around me comment. It just makes me wonder when they'll get with the times already!

@ZaCloud: Dude, I wish I saw men around where I live in a skirt...lol.

I remember when I was forced to attend the Baptist Church in my town...The preacher was doing a small sermon on homosexuality and said, "How can we allow our children to be exposed to such a condemnable thing?" It was humurous. It still is. The sentence to me s implies that being gay is contagious...

Priests I have less disrespect for since they think that they can play the role of God.

LMFAO YES, ALCIBIADES WAS THAT GUY. He was totally in love with Socrates because Socrates "had something he didn't have." According to the manwha, LOL.

Your statement = truth. :'D
