obviously, i'm obsessed
well... since Nabari is ending and all.... might as well share how you came across this awesome series.

as for me, it was MF's tokyo rocket's fault RIGHTdoing (that's rinjiixrocket here, right? yes, YOU). around the time Yen Press started licensing the mangas, i came across her post ranting about how the only 3 mangas she reads on MF -- Kuroshitsuji, Pandora Hearts, and Nabari no Ou -- were all licensed. Since I was only reading KS and PH at that time, i got curious and researched on NnO.... and the rest is history.

so, how did you guys come across Nabari no Ou?

I first came across ads of it, but it never really interested me, until I saw an AMV of it with one of the Epic of Zektbach's songs. That really got me interested, and so I did a little research on it, and decided to give it a try. These days, I don't watch anime too much, but when I watched the first episode, I was hooked onto the show. Literally.

For me, my friend had been watching it and was telling me about it right around the time of one of my other obsessions, so...naturally I didn't care. (Note that it's an anime most people here would prolly scoff at so I won't say just what it is~ lol)

However I was running out of things to watch, since I've seen pretty much two hundred series at least. I don't know. I don't count. But yeah, I was out of things to watch and I remembered my friend mentioning it...

So I went on Animeseason and gave it a watch. Needless to say, I loved it. I stopped watching the anime at around...oh, episode ten and picked up the manga and read that all the way through before finishing the anime again. I adored it absolutely, and pestered some of my good friends to watch it. LOL. I'm sure I was annoying.

Then I even showed it to my anime club at school, and THEY fell in love with it. (The guys didn't though, LOL)

Funniest part of showing it in school was that when I showed it to my English teacher for reviewing, one of the things he asked when he gave back my DVD was, "Is he gay?" Talking about Miharu. XD And he had only reviewed like the first...maybe five episodes or so. Haha.

I kinda hate repeating this cuz the circumstances on how I found it are icky buuuut here we goooo~

It was a little over a year ago, and I was really into Naruto. Though the obsession would falter alittle here and there cuz damn some arcs are just so boring...One day I just googled for "anime like Naruto"(to perhaps find something with better plot) and found a Yahoo Answers page where someone said Nabari no Ou, and that it did more for them than Naruto ever could. We know Nabari isn't "like Naruto".

It was interesting from the start (preettyyy art) and I was hooked by the 3rd-4th ep(good looking hobo/nice plot...).

Pffft. I actually tried finding the exact question, but I'm getting other ones with answers that say how closely related Nabari is to Nar--mentioned too much @_@;.

My sister was watching it... she was watching the episode with the hospital and the bleeding and the snow, and I was all, 'This looks pretty gay - what is it?' I started reading the manga during dead hours at work and really loved it. I still remember the shock of Yoite's disappearance.

But yeah, thanks to my sister.

similar to tsuki in that i was getting running out of things to read/watch. and i was waiting for all the other things i was reading to update
so while i was rereading loveless (omg... i havent reread that since april o.O), a thread (can't find it) on mangafox was comparing/suggesting BL couples. one of the posts mentioned that miharu and yoite from nabari no ou resembling ritsuka and soubi. so i checked it out, collapsed at chapter 50 then dropped it until, for some reason i decided to draw a loveless fanart and remembered nabari no ou. and went back. im sorta glad i didnt completely drop it. i think i dropped it cuz yoite died?
of course... ritsukaxsoubi do... to a certain degree resemble miharuxyoite (ridiculously cute shota uke. powerful angsty seme)

Hm. Hmhmhm. -'_'-
Like la radio up there, I discovered it cuz of my sister. I saw her watching the last episode where Yoite was in the church, and I was like oHHH, good looking dude, looks kinda like sasuke from Naruto *facepalm* and then later on she was talking to me about how sad the ending to some anime was, that this abused kid literally turned to dust after going back to his old home where the abusers lived and I'm like wtf?
...So I watched some. Yoite was cute. He also spewed blood. My type of anime. YEAAAA. Posted Image
Then he died, and my sister didn't care, but I went to the manga in search of the REAL ending of Yoite. Broke my heart even harder. :[

I discovered it because of other people's signatures over on MF. Loads of people on the TRC and holic forums had pictures of Yoite in their sigs and his design caught my eye. I googled around and discovered that it was ninjas and I was like, bleeeaaah... but then I was bored (read: practicing procrastination and DID NOT want to write my goddamn screenplay!!!) and gave it a shot.

Somehow, I managed to get through all of the scanlated manga and all of the anime in just three days. I still don't know how the hell I did that.

NnO has many of my favorite things in manga. Tragic character/relationships that will never kiss on screen, jerk dad figures (Yukimi, my fave!), ridiculous amount of implications of homosexuality, a morally-grey "bad side," genre bending, and LOTS and LOTS of cats. Otherwise, I probably never would have got past the (ewwww) ninjas...

@purrl: jsadfoaij Nyanko nomming on watermelon= epic win of adorable epic proportions asjdfaoif ahhhh be still my heart <444 GAH /randomgush

DURRR I uh found out about NnO 'round two years ago from a longtiem friend (who... actually never finished either the manga or anime FFFFF). This.... may say a few things, because she told me the two main characters reminded her of a pair of our own. They do. I was insta-hooked on the art when she randomly chucked me the 4th volume.

At first I thought it was a parody of a certain ninja series if not the ninja genre as a whole, but Kamatani breathed in so much more life into this than I would have ever expected that it became something I cannot yet describe... but absolutely adore.

.... JDSOFASIJ WORDS YOU ARE LOST ON MY LIP- ER, BRAINS?! but yeh such was the start of an obsession :'x

Heehee my turn! *warning: begin rant* Nabari was the second manga I ever read. :o Be impressed, guys. (The first one was Fruits Basket, so...bit of a jump. ^^; )

How'd I find it? The ad for the first DVD on fanfiction.net! :D I believe it was all the way over in the Merlin section! Or possibly the Doctor Who one...

My reaction was something along the lines of, "cute apathetic MC and reeeally cute effeminate guy behind him in the hat! Ho yes." <3 So I survived through the dubbed trailer (ick), decided it peaked my interest, and...I think I watched the first episode then headed straight over to the manga. Or something. I already knew I liked manga better than anime from Fruits Basket. That's right, I watched like the first episode or two and then started thinking, "Wouldn't it be great if there was a manga for this?" And (of course) there was!

I got my other friend (now my girlfriend <3) who already loved manga into it, and the rest is history. I'm pretty sure the reason I like manga so much now is that Nabari really got me into it. XD *rant ends*
