Position Applying For: Art Teacher Played By: Gyl Other Characters: Archux, Nathaniel Tenebrae, Mel Brookes, Everhart Mayfield, Nurse Dietrich the basics Name: Layla Camille Ward Age: 26 Species: Witch Years Teaching/On Staff: This is her first. Pet: A fat calico cat named Jo. Model: Harmony C appearance Layla looks her age at 26; she's filled out as a woman with a rather curvaceous body that no matter what she wears they will always be visible and her rather prominent chest assets unmissable but she tends to accentuate them with waist cinchers over her shirt and flowing skirts (lengths vary, sometimes they are above her knees and sometimes they reach down to her ankles) when teaching class. Pants and shorts out of it. She's got plump lips and a delicate oval face with large almond shaped bright green eyes. They glow softly when she performs spells and incantations. He hair is auburn and cut short so that it doesn't fall into her eyes, she'll run her fingers through it with some product and leave it as it is for the rest of the day. The witch stands at 5 feet 7 inches, of average height and doesn't bother with heels in the castle, at least. She will usually be seen with flats or boots almost at all times no matter the weather. the past Layla is young and fresh out of university, this is her first teaching job and the fact that it's at the prestigious Oddhart Academy only adds to the pressure of a good performance. She knows she is capable merely that her nerves are likely to get the best of her in the first week of class. Layla herself didn't attend Oddhart, she was home schooled at her family home along with her two sisters. Her family are all women; her mothers are lesbians and men-hater. When she was younger she used to fear men, she'd hide behind her mothers or in her room when they came to the house. And for a long time she was certain men were scary, savage and brutal creatures. It wasn't until she reached her teenage years that she came to realize she wasn't like her mothers. When Oddhart's letter came for her when she turned 15 it wasn't so much her choice as to whether she could go or not. Her mothers gave her the options but the guilt if she had gone prevented her from doing so. So she bid her time through the years, university came and she left home for the first time and it was also the first time she interacted with boys. She found them with a certain charm and appeal and when she graduated her first choice was Oddhart. She was going about it backwards, joining once she was an adult but non-the-less she was pleased to have been accepted as the art teacher. the present Layla has a laidback way of teaching, she doesn't believe in a strict curriculum. Especially when it comes to art, art if free flowing and emotional. And that is very much how she teaches it. Technique though important it isn't what the class is about. It's about experiences and what they are able to convey into their art. For her there is no ugly or pretty art. But she is not likely to let her students slide with a stick figure and a bullshit explanation, she takes art seriously but understands that a lot take the course thinking it is an easy grade. It doesn't bother her so much because among them are the students that really like art and yes, those are the ones she favours (those that show dedication to their craft). Those that horse around however will either be sent away or given a stern talking to, her temper when at its limit isn't a nice thing to experience. Edited by Professor Ward, Feb 28 2011, 11:26 AM.
