In the year of 2147, Flynn Taggart (DoomGuy!), after defeating the Maledict, returns back to Earth with Dr. Elizabeth McNeil. Upon returning to Earth, the SMC (Space Marine Corps) and UAC (Union Aerospace Corporation) both greet, welcome, and bestow special commendation's for what they did on Mars. The creation or testing of any kind of dimensional, or teleportation systems is also banned and outlawed by the SMC. However, a year later in 2148, UAC secretly creates an underground complex somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, where they begin to re-create and test dimensional gateway technology, despite the events that happened on Mars. For almost a year, testing on the gateway seemed to be going well, no demonic or any kind of hostile activity was detected or found, for a while UAC thought the new experiment was safe. Around 2150 something happened, scientist and explorers began to disappear, and security guards from inside the gateway would report seeing unknown creatures and entities. Not taking any chances, the head scientist Dr. Jacob Reynolds completely lock-downed the facility, and ordered all security to evacuate the workers. But it was already too late when the order was given. Demons started pouring out of the gateway, killing everyone and everything in their path. The security forces were quickly wiped out, and the workers turned into to zombies. Before his death, Dr. Jacob Reynolds sent out a distress and warning signal to the SMC, telling them what had happened, this would now shape up as a new war......Hell on Earth. For 1 year the National Defense Forces along with the SMC put up a strong and good fight against the demonic invasion, but it would not be long before they were quickly overrun. One by one, mankind's cities fell and burned to the ground. The SMC and the National Defense Forces were forced to give up many of their garrisons, in order to make new ones that were much more defended, larger, and supplied. By the year of 2153 nearly over 3/4 of Earth was now controlled, and occupied by the Hellish armies. Current day in 2154, UAC has completely been destroyed, and the remaining cities have been turned into massive fortresses, each equipped with a couple SMC battalions, and the military bases have reinforced, and turned into production centers to provide for more weapons, ammo, vehicles, etc. However, because of the lack of fuel, the SMC is unable to use tanks and aircraft, therefore those are not being made anymore. The SMC and mankind in general, are in a greater demand for more supplies, and manpower to fight the demonic armies. The SMC now hires many civilians to go outside of the cities and bases to search for any supplies they can find, they have been nicknamed the "rats", because they go out to salvage, and take anything they can find like a rat. Special branches have been created for many different purposes like Recon Ops. and the Bio-Demon Experts. And the SMC also has the main-line battalions that keep putting up small campaigns against the Hellish armies, half of which usually fail. You will all play as either a Marine, Civilian, etc. in the military base of Fort Lee, on the coast line of North Carolina, on the date of August 25, 2154.
