Undead are fine as long as they're played up to what they should be. A lot of times from what I've seen in RPs, movies, books and that sort of thing people sort've splurge with things like this and think the name itself will carry the weight you need to make a good story. That's rarely the case. It's the same thing with things like dragons, elves, and things of that nature. We're becoming desensitized to what it truly means to have those archetypes because many people fail to understand that they need to put their own spin on things or they'll just end up trying to feed us more cookie-cutter crap.
