Alright, I'm going to start it now... Human, graceful crea..I'm not even going to make a guide like that, this is strictly to give information on what to do in a BNet game, not background information on the race. Seeing as many strategies learned in solo would be of great help to you in RT I am going to include some of both. STARTING THE GAME OFF! Your given your five peasants and then say, "what the hell do I make?" Easy, start off with your altar, the key to humans is to make a wall, making it so no hero can get into your base or out of. That way, you can keep heroes out of your base to keep them from harassing your peasants, that really is the most important thing to remember. Make two peasants next, wait for the first one to get done then make the barracks, usually once the next peasant is half way done I start the farm. I'll include a replay in this thread to show how I would normally wall off my base. So here is the plan at the start, 3 peasants to the gold mine, 1 to wood and the last peasant will make the altar. I hate to say this, but 75% of the time your hero choice should be Archmage. His brilliance aura is invaluable and since your human, you will need a large damage output at the beginning which is where the water elemental comes in. Usually its just, elemental the first level, brilliance aura the second, alternating all the way till you can get mass teleport. If your doing solo, another hero choice to consider is Mountain King with storm bolt. Invaluable skill, any human WILL need a mountain king. Anyways, I get this hero in solo only if I am facing orc because they will most likely get the blademaster and that hero would annihilate an archmage. So keep making peasants, i usually get 11, 5 on gold and 6 cutting them trees. Once that first farm gets done, immediately make another farm, followed by another one, you can use the same peasant it should work out perfectly with the production of your footmen so you have enough food. So your barracks will get done, instantly a footman, followed by another, and another, and another. I usually get around five footmen before I start the blacksmith. Another very important thing is the arcane tower, you always need the arcane tower. Place it inside your base, surrounded by buildings. Anyways, right when my Archmage gets out, the first thing I do is take my two footmen (should be close to having two done by the time your Archmage finishes. WINNING WITH ECONOMY! This next bit of creeping is somewhat difficult to explain, so I figured it would be best shown with a replay. http://tft.replayers.com/index.php?action=view&id=114210 So yes, I do the quick expansion there. As soon as that is done, I will run to the opponents base which I will have scouted with a militia earlier. A good trick is to place a "scout" farm in front of your base, by an area you know your opponent will go, or hell, even by a goblin merchant so you will have say..5-10 more seconds to know he is going to attack you. Fighting human vs human is quite boring to spectate, but for the player it is fun because it is all micro. Summoning water elemental, and focusing one footman at a time with all your units while they do the same to you. Its quite simple because all you have to do is run the footman away and it will live because neither of you should have a way to slow that footman down. The whole goal of the first fight is to weaken them, or even kill some units. You should come back for more when your Archmage is level three, because the different between summon water elemental one and two is huge, damage goes up by 15 I think. Teching may be a little slow, and if your playing a race that isn't human, well you probably will need to turtle a little bit. (making 5 or more guard towers so you can stay alive) You can attempt to creep with your army, just make sure you have a scroll of town portal because more than likely if the opponent is undead, they can destroy your footy/archmage army. Human wins with economy, if they can get that expansion up 5 minutes into the game, the game is more than likely theirs. Just think about it, getting twice as much gold as your opponent, building twice as many units as them. It is quite nice, the only downside is your slow tech speed and they may have better units then you early on. That is offset with your cheapest and best unit ....GUARD TOWERS!!! Yes, the "unit" I lost to in that championship game of the tournament lol. WINNING THE GAME! Ok where was I. Your town hall gets done upgrading, well.... Make some damn arcane sanctums, two for the average person, usually three for me...Why you ask, well because I do things differently and I usually have a crap load of gold. Actually that a lie, I spend gold like there is no tomorrow but whatever. Pump that mountain king, I love him, you love him, we all want him. He is an excellent little bitch, get him. Give him storm bolt, throw a mana potion on him and start leveling him up to level 2 or 3 before your next attack. Storm bolt is such a worthy addition to your army, 300 damage and a 5 second at level 3. Amazing. I remember when you could storm bolt buildings, but that was a long time ago. Ok your sanctums get done, I usually make 2 priest, followed by 2 sorceress, followed by 4 spellbreakers, then 3 priest, 3 sorceress and 4 spellbreakers again. You want a good amount of heal, but you also want a good amount of damage. Keep in mind your damage output is coming from footman, spellbreakers, water elementals and your storm bolt. So I usually pump units till my mountain king is level 3, then I go and attack them bitches, yes, them bitches. The key to fighting with human, well actually the key to fighting with all races is..BUY SCROLLS FROM THE MERCHANT. Get two healing scrolls, and one protection scroll. AND MAKE SURE you have priest adept training. A lot of players forget this, which is stupid but they do, you can dispel the water elementals, knocking out a large portion of damage. So yes, a lot of things to micro in the fight when it happens. Focus one unit at a time, if their heroes are in a bad place upfront, focus them, spellbreakers kill heroes nice and fast due to feedback. Make your spellbreakers attack heroes if they can, make your footmen focus anything with medium armor, they do extra damage to that, and your priest should just stand and heal. Your sorceress should just be slowing..slowing and s..l..o..w..i..n..g.. (haha, ...) while your archmage summons, and your mountain king throws a storm bolt at the units that are running away. So your winning the fight and they back into their base witch of course has towers and such. They use the militia, well the best part about human later in the game is their army will heal exceptionally fast, so you should be able to deal with them, especially if you killed a large amount of the opponents units in the fight. If it really comes down to it, you can tech to tier 3, seeing as a I rarely do. Dragonhawks are still a nice addition with the cloud spell on them towers, gryphons are nice also, and if you feel the opponent is massing too many casters, well mortars will make short work of them. Human is a race with many different ways of winning, I included one way I thought worked the best, but as time goes on I will be sure to add more. This is what I call the mass melee way, the RANDOM TEAM/ARRANGED TEAM way is called the massed ranged... I have elaborate names for them, I know. I'm taking a break, here is the first part. I had a massive wood splinter in my thumb so it hurts like hell, I'll finish it tomorrow. Thanks for reading...feedback is appreciated, maybe with a 1-10 rating. (Prometherion is me, yes the % is bad, but it is me. |
