In the middle of no-mans land inside a house half destroyed, Murray had been searching for supply for the city, his worn out truck outside.

Inside, Murray began scavenging what he was supposed to find. Ammo, food that hasn't turned bad, anything. "Let's see. . .Clothes. . .Some ammo. . .You know, it leaves me to wonder why ordinary people have ammunition in their house. I mean really."

As he stood up, he pulled his TMP and checked it for ammo. "Still full. But it's almost dark soon, so I guess I better start heading back." He picked up canned food, packaged food, and a beer to go. "Wonder how this will taste like after two years."

When he stepped outside, he found out it was dark out. "Crap. Better hurry, hard to see the damned things outside." Racing to the truck, he heard moaning sounds from behind him. "'Be a scavenger' they said, 'It'll be fun' they said, 'blow zombies up' they said. . .Well this anit fun!"

He turned around opening fire in the darkness, his headlamp had run out of juice, and his flashlight in his truck. When he got to the truck, the moaning got louder. "For christ's sake." He threw the supplies in the back of the truck, got into the truck and quickly went off. "Note to self:Never go scavenging when it's night and your head lamp is dead."

As he was driving, Murray glanced out the window every now and then. Though there were still trees alive, forests still out there, where he was. It was a desolate wasteland. Destroyed homes, buildings, even cars and weapons laid on the ground.

This had all been caused by the Umbrella Corporation. They had remade the T-Virus and was successfully able to mass-produce missiles with the T-Virus in them. Of course, as they sold it to countries around the world, they gave false information about it. Saying it caused a sickness, making them unable to fight.

When the missiles launched in 2034, when Murray was thirty years old, The Apocalypse war had arrived. The Missiles flew around the world, causing the zombification to occur. Cities fell by the dozens, mankind had nearly been wiped out. Billions of humans, men, women, children, all became the living dead. Even animals were affected by them too.

Murray had known this all to well, when him and his fellow workers at Umbrella Corp. were left to die when the corporation had just suddenly dissapeared. Only him and three other workers were able to survive.

When they had been rescued by the military in 2036, a hunter-killer had tracked them down. Even though it was killed, it took out the umbrella corp. workers, and several of the soldiers. Only four remained, three soldiers and Murray himself. He later discovered that the hunter was after them from the start. It seemed umbrella didn't want to leave any traces behind.

When they had gotten back to the city, Murray was given a new life, they had removed his last name for safety purposes, as they did with most ex-Umbrella workers, as they would be safe. He was given a job in the military, a scavenger. A death wish so to say, they would travel out into no-mans land to gather supplies for the city, and if they didn't return. Well, they'd return alive or dead.

When Murray came back from his flashback, A licker was staring him in the face, but it was already dead. "Huh. . .weird." He shook it off and continued to drive towards the cities walls, the only thing keeping the zombies and lickers, out of the city.

Kurt was on guard duty, he sat in a small guard house outside the city. The guard house was placed there and placed with guard's to assure what going in and out of the city. Kurt looked at three Private's playing poker in the wreck room, while he was stuck watching the door.

Even though they are "safe" in the guard house, they arent. They needed to be ready for anything, report's of licker's and strangely evovled form's of them called Deimo's are wandering around, along with zombie's. Kurt wasnt suited up as he should, since it was a major need at the moment. He looked out of the guard house spotting the Scavenger truck coming. He loaded his USAS-12 with Flachette rounds, and walked out. He turned the flashlight that was attached to the USAS-12 Shotgun on, waiting for the truck to get closer. "Lets see what coming in this time . . ."

Murray pulled up to he small guard house in front of the city and stopped, got out of the truck and locked the back of the truck, even though it wouldn't keep them out of the supplies. He stood in front of the truck looking at the glass, realizing the licker blood wasn't going to come off any time soon. And the glass itself was nearly shattered.

"Great. I wonder how much it's gonna cost me this time. 'It'll be cheap' they said. Bullshit I say." He grabbed his flash light, turning it on, and walked towards the guard house to see a man standing there.

"Scaavenger Murray, reporting back." He quickly saluted and went back to normal. "Got about a few days supply of food, ammunition and a few beers. They actually taste good even though they are two years old." He let out a laugh and stopped quickly. "God scavenging sucks, I swear, one more licker and I will go insane. Damn Umbrella. They gave pretty good wages though."

He sighed and waited for a reply from the guard. "Say, your not an ex-umbrella worker? The say Hunter-Killers search em and kill any in their way. But hey, I'm not one to judge. Just open the gate and let me through before they come and steal out food."

Kurt nodded, and looked over the supplies. "All looks good." he told Murray. Kurt looked over to Murray and crossed his arms. "My father was an scientist for Umbrella." he told him. Kurt walked to the gate control's in the guard house and pressed the button, opening the city gates. "Go on in."

"Heh, you'd think they'd have the controls for the gate inside of the city." He shrugged as he got into the truck and began to drive slowly. "Oi, know where I can find a mechanic?"

Before the guard said anything, Murray cut him off. "Know what? I'll find it myself." He drove into the city as the gates closed behind him, the guard still outside. "Nothing ever changes in this god-forsaken place." As he drove, people were walking around happily, as though the war never happened. He stopped by in front of the supply base, picked up the supplies on the desk. "Your gonna have to pay me extra."

"What makes you think I'll do that?" The man said, sitting behind the desk, by the looks of it, a soldier. But has only seen a few battles.

"Maybe because I nearly died out there today?!"

"So what, scavengers die on a daily basis."

"And My truck got busted by a licker!"

"You know the rule, hit a licker on the road, your fault." He put his feet on the desk.

"Fine, I'll keep this aged wine for myself." He took a bottle of wine he found on the way back and threw it in the air.

"....Damn you, hows two hundred sound?"

"Make it five."

". . .I hate you." He put the money on the desk in exchange for the supplies.

"Who doesn't hate me in the military, survival of the fittest my friend."
He grabbed the money and put it in his pocket and walked out the door. The truck missing one of it's headlights. "God dammit. . ."

"Looks like it's your fault!" A laugh came from the building he came from.

"SHUT UP!" He got into the truck, and drove off into into the city in search of a mechanic that would fix his extremely damaged car.

“May as well get a bite to eat before the fun begins” Jack says as he heads down to the barracks, where two lowly recruits sit around drinking themselves to death. Jack walks up to the vending machine and grabs a few candy bars, a sandwich and a cup of coffee. He sits down and eats his sandwich and drinks his coffee. "Bunch of fools" he mutters.

Kurt got back into the guard house, locking the door. He sat down in his chair and held his USAS-12 Shotgun close to him, he listened to the laughter of the three still playing poker in the wreck room. "Dang recruit's." he said to himself.

Jack heads back to his perch as he finishes his coffee, and tosses the remains of his sandwich out. He takes out a candy bar, and munches one it. "Haven't had a Mars bar in a long time" he thinks as he reaches the top. "Oh well back to work" he mutters as he pulls out his sniper rifle again, and attaches the bipod, and flicks on the night vision scope.

"Hmm none to be seen" he thinks as he flicks through the zooms. He flicks on he thermal scope feature to see if any living people are coming. Off to the south he sees a large heat source. "Fools, those scavengers die more often then they find supplies, all for a quick buck... Well at least it is less mouths to feed"

"Ah the good ole' times, what ever happened to them? I'll tell you what happened to them, they disappeared, vanished, gone without a trace. I guess you can blame all of that on Umbrella for creating the virus in the first place. I remember watching old zombie-horror movies when I was still in LA. Dawn of the Dead, the old Night of the Living Dead. Zombies were just a myth back then, but not until the incident in Racoon City. But, I figure those days are long gone, and now whats left behind is nothing but war." Tom said to himself.

Snapping out daze, Tom prepares to be dropped onto a small city in no-mans land. A recon and intel mission to bring back vital information that will aid the scavengers that will raid it tomorrow.

"Alright men, get ready, lock and load." Tom said to his squad.

"Yes sir!" Replied the men.

Putting his night vision goggles on, and loading a clip into his MTAR-21 and Desert Eagle, Tom walked near the door of the large armored truck, ready to open it and start his mission.

"Listen up, you all know the drill, if your bit, don't cry for help, just shoot yourself in the head. And if you see someone get bit, don't be a hero, just shoot them if they are incapable of shooting themselves." Tom said to his men once again.

Tom looked at Lachance, a trainee, a recruit. Tom thought to himself that every god damn recruit that the upper-ranks sent him would just get killed, which always did happened. For a moment he considered telling him to stay on the copter, and go back to the city. But he didn't. "Combat was combat, orders are orders." He thought to himself.

Now Tom and his men finally got out of the armored truck, that was sitting on the outskirts of the city, and now starting their mission knowing that failure would not be an option. The information needed to get back...

Jack sits on his perch, on the highest point of the city, waiting for another zombie to shoot. As he saw a van driving towards the city he shot the licker near it, which rebounded into the van. “Fool scavengers… Should watch where they are driving…”

As Jack clicks on his night vision scope, he looks for more zombies to shoot. “Little buggers where are ya’ hiding” He sees one trudging towards the city “There you are my little friend”

Jack takes aim, and fires, 3 seconds later he sees a red mark between the zombies eyes as its head gets blown off from the impact, and the sound of the gunshot echoes through the city, rebounding off the walls.

Jack smiles as he mutters “And that is the sound I like to hear”, “Now where are the rest of you hiding”. Jack turns around to see if any zombies are out behind the city and he sees three, a quick one and two slow ones. “Heh, one fast one that will run into the bullet as the other two are dieing” He mutters as he takes aim.

The first two shots echo through the city and seem to miss, but as the other is shot, the back side guards hear three low tearing sounds as the bullets rip the zombies heads off as they pass through what is remaining of their skulls. “Five down ten billion to go” and he chuckles softly.

Murray was standing on the top of the walls, looking out into no-mans land. After hearing the gunshots, he headed up to the highest point in the city to see a man looking through a sniper rifle. . Eating a mars bar. "Oi, Jack. If your gonna make so much noise with your gun, put a silencer on it or something."

The man said nothing and concentrated on the sniper rifle. "Hey, brought you a beer I found." He placed a beer side him and sat sat on the ledge. "My truck's in the body shop right now, hit a Licker while spacing out. Put a dent in it, cracked the wind shield and broke the headlights. Though. . .Nah, just being paranoid."

Murray opened his beer and began chugging it down. "So, what che up too other th-" When Murray was about to finish his sentence, a ringing noise was heard. "hold that thought." He picked up his cell phone from his pocket.

"Hello? Ah it's you." Murray drank a bit of his beer before spraying it out. "What the hell do you mean I gotta go out again?! It's dark god dammit! I know I have a duty, but that duty is only during the day! Not the god damned night!"

When he stopped yelling, he calmed down a bit "So what, your paying me double? Make it triple. The other one you sent died already didn't he? Fine, I'll go. Only for four times the normal amount. Who doesn't hate me in the military? Survival of the fittest."

He hung up the phone and checked if his head lamp was working. "Okay, well. I gotta head out. See you s-Crap, I need a car. Hey Jack, can I borrow yours?"

"As long as you don't hit any lickers" Jack said as he smiled slyly. "Oh and I don't put a silencer on it for a reason, it lowers the range, and muffles the wonderful sound". Jack then stood up and rifled in his pocket for his keys. “I will be watching you from here, don’t go too far, I don’t want ya’ ruining my car,” he said and smiles as he realizes that the licker that hit the van was Murray's. He then found his keys and tossed them to Murray. “Oh and here” Jack said as he tossed some batteries on the ledge "Might do you some good to have some light". “Thanks for the beer by the way, I will drink it in the mourning, when I am done shooting lickers” He said as he sat back down and aimed at a fresh licker “Cover your ears Murray”.

Tom and his men finally moved into the interior the city after 10 minutes have passed. Moving swiftly, there was surprisingly very light zombie resistance, so little, Tom and he's men didn't need to use up ammo on them.

"Ok, there is a barely any zombies here." Said Corporal Jacobs.

"Yeah, why is are they raiding this tomorrow when there is no resistance? I mean raids are usually on more highly infested cities, but this is just ridiculous." Said Gunnery Sergeant Smith.

"I'm sure they have a perfectly good reason for sending a raid here tomorrow, but in the meanwhile, concentrate on the mission." Tom said to his men.

Tom and his men, avoiding the zombies, just found basic grocery stores, convenience stores, most of which about half empty. The gas stations were exhausted of fuel, none to be found anywhere. And the police stations still had some weapons and ammo inside of them, but none that could be used with any of Tom's or his squads weapons.

Now moving towards the north part of the city, were prepared to see some action, if any. In the north part of the city, they found some old barricades set up, all destroyed though. Tom and his squad approached the barricades, and out of barricades, a runner zombie jumped out and slashed one of the soldiers in the chest, and ran up and harshly bit another soldier in the neck. Tom and the remaining 2 soldiers opened fired on the runner zombie, putting at least 7 rounds into its head. 2 of the soldiers went to check on the wounded one who was slashed, and Tom and the other one went to check on the bitten one. The slashed soldier seemed to be ok, and the one who was bitten, was obliviously doomed.

"God damnit....the recruit." Tom said to himself as he put a round into the Lachance's head.

The squad started to move back to a nearby hospital they found to see if they could find any extra medical supplies, but behind they heard something, in the distance coming out of those old barricades. Jacobs looked back.

"Jesus Christ!" He yelled. Tom and the other soldiers also looked back. Everyone just staring at what they saw for 5 seconds.

"Move it!" Tom yelled to the squad as they were being chased by at least 20 runner zombies and even worse, at least hundreds of regular zombies following behind them.....

Blake looked his car over, noticing nothing wrong with the outside. He calmly said "Well... Must have been the gas then...". He walked around the car, as he had already expended all of his gasoline, he had nothing to do now. "Great... I'm in the middle of nowhere without any gas... And who knows what is out there looking for me." he whispered, so not to gain any unwanted attention. He leaned against the car and said to himself "Man... I wonder if there's anyone else in this situation.".

As he leaned against the car he heard something moving behind him. "Footsteps... More of them? Out here?" he said to himself as he crouched down against the side of the car for cover. Next thing he knew, it leaped over the car, whirled around and stared straight at him. It lunged at him but he managed to roll out of the way and it put a dent in the car. He fumbled for his pistol saying "Crap, this thing's gonna kill me!" to himself. It lunged at him again, and he put his feet out, blocking it from getting to him long enough for him to get the pistol out. He pointed the pistol straight at its face and pulled the trigger, killing it. He walked over to it and examined it closely, it was a fox. He calmly said to himself "Oh well... I've gotta eat..." as he picked it up. But once he had it in his hands, he noticed that it had been dead for what could be weeks. "Oh god! I'm not eating that!" he yelled. He heard wolves howling in the background, he stood up and ran for the car, opening the door and getting in as fast as he could.

07 simply held on to the bottom of the truck while it stood still in the repair shop. She calculated her chances of survival and the took in what she had done earlier this night. She had easily lured the lurker into smashing into the front of the truck, allowing one chance to roll under and grab to the bottom of it. Of course she made noise but nothing compared to the crunching noise of the lurker. She was well trained in stealth and she figured using the scavengers truck would allowed her into the city. 07 job was much easier when the guard to the city didn't even check under the truck. The driver too made her job easier, giving her information that the guard was one of the umbrella men she had to kill. Once the truck was inside the town it was never given a moment of peace to allow her to come out of under it. First the unloading, then some pesky thieves trying to steal the scavengers stuff, and now the damn auto repair man.

Her thoughts where interrupted when the truck suddenly began to rise into the air and a man walked under her. The two simply stared at each other blinking, 07 slowly sneaking a tendril behind his head, the man surprised to see her under the truck. Her tendril then struck, going into the back of his head and cleanly coming out the other end, grey matter and blood splattered all over the repair shop from the impact. After pulling her tendril out and slowly clambering down from the truck 07 pulled the body off and made it look like the man tripped and impaled his head against a sharp pole. She then went into the security room and destroyed all records of it happening by spill coffee on the tapes and machinery. Once that was complete she quickly left the shop and disappeared into the shadows of the alley ways, waiting until the mess she made was cleaned up, so she could complete her job.
