Posts: 168 Group: Members Member #19 Joined: June 7, 2007	Well, this may be cliche, I said that part because I saw Kit's topic before I made this, but oh well. Okay, I just had an idea about an Rp in WoW on our private server. We could have a large war between the Horde and Alliance, we could all make new characters and split each of us down each side, there could be horde characters on the Alliance side and vice versa (Or however you spell it). We could have battles where one person on each side spawns the normal soldiers (You cannot spawn in the middle of a battle, though.) at certain places that would make good battlefields and just fight. This would all be roleplayed, remember. Basically, there would be a major leader on boths sides. This leader is the spawner for the battle, mainly, they would coordinate tactics before the battle begins, and would most likely be protected. This leader should avoid being killed at all times, perhaps you could have tents to add to the realism. Then, the two sides would battle all out. All guards to each race on both sides are allowed in the battle (I'm editing this to clarify what I meant by this. I meant that all races on one side would be available to that side.). Whichever side loses most or all of its soldiers will lose the battle and be forced to retreat. The other side can claim that territory, or move on to another. There cannot be spamming of soldiers and such in the beginning, either. We have to be able to trust the leaders of each side to hold to this rule and the others. Eventually, each of the cities on each side could be attacked at least once. If a city is taken by the opposite side, the side who originally owned it would want to retake it at all costs. If a city is controlled by the opposite team, that city's guards would be off limits to create until it is recaptured. There could be multiple battles going on at once, too, perhaps a minor commander decides to march on an enemy city when they least expect it, but a commander on that side springs a trap on them and they get into their own battle while a real war is raging on in another territory. Both sides could take other commanders as prisoners and such. Act like it's a real war between the sides. I think it'd be a pretty cool Roleplay if it is regulated well enough. If this isn't possible, sorry for bringing it up, but I think it's a pretty cool idea, personally.

The only thing against it is as you said, it needs to be regulated, as people may be tempted to "god-mode", whether by spawning a lot of troops for their side at the start, sneaking a few in battle when no one's looking, making themselves totally indestructable via GM commands, etc. However, I'd like to think that...er...at least most of us are mature enough to handle this =P. Otherwise, it sounds like a great idea, and I would've probably tried to do something similar if you hadn't suggested it first. :lol: Now I just need to wait for Lum to make my damn account already or for Silver to fix up the bugs in his server. <_<

During Lum's Hiatus I went on wowhead and looked up a bunch of undead spawn IDs, and had the idea to have them attack a major city (Or one we made up ourselves using objects/doodads). Of course the limited time we have on the server makes it very difficult to do that, plus I need to get approval so that I dont spawn it all for nothing. ._.;;

Posts: 37 Group: Members Member #42 Joined: September 3, 2007	Well that's why I'm hoping Silver suceeds in getting his [server] up and running, since he's on frequently and for longer periods of time. Ideally, it would be nice if he'd be able to keep the sever-comp on 24/7 so that we could access the server at any time, however if that would cause problems (i.e. parents complaining about running up the power bill) he'd still probably would have it on more often than Lum. And since he will be on more frequently it'll be that much easier to get permissions to do things or resolve any problems. Glad you haven't given up on it yet Silver, I know it must be hard work, but the end result will be worth it! :)

I thought basically there could be people on neither side, or who could be hired for one side. I was thining originally about a mercenary leader with mercenaries in the deadmines, but I just realized it'd be difficult to get to them since they're in an instance, lol. I also thought of the same thing with a necromancer (Literally, the same thing, I think, lol.) I didn't really want to post this idea earlier for some reason, not sure why, though. Your idea's pretty cool, too. Thank you all for the support.
