Ignorance Is Bliss. Posts: 283 Group: Members Member #20 Joined: June 7, 2007	Do these build threads actually mean anything? I mean, the whole entire point to an rp is the rping. Building is just presentation. Champ and I have settled this argument years ago, and we know the score already. I've been around some folks in my tenure on WC3 that could do amazing things with stories that they hardly ever had to build that much. Building is fun and all, but it doesn't mean jack shit if you can't carry it out with a decent story. Focus on your rping more and building less and I promise you the results will be far more impressive. ;)

I'm not disputing the actual roleplaying (And mine is fine, thank you very much) is more important than the building, neither has anyone else that posted these threads. However, building is still a major part of these maps, and even if it was not, I can post whatever I damn well please. So eh, jog on.

Posts: 39 Group: Members Member #52 Joined: November 11, 2007	Oz, this thread is about showing us what he built :o And the building is a big part of the roleplay. It's fun, makes for a good gathering spot, and starts off storylines :o But.. If you can't roleplay then no point in building :D

Building can be a major part of rping, and if your not in the mood for rping, but have nothing better to do, you can waste many hours just building random stuff, getting better at building, or just building things faster. There is nothing wrong with just building randomly if you bother no one, and these threads are ways to keep what you built on random times, or even if you really liked something, and allows you to show people how good it is. If building was worthless, then the makers of DoBRP, HRP and others should o just filled in the spots, rather then give building spots. It can really take away from an rp however if you walk into a a dock, with no buildings, nothing. Since in reality, their would be no docks and stone paved ground unless people lived there, and your characters should note that.
