Alright, for those of you who are going "What's Dark's Theme exactly?!" It's really quite simple: A Dark Age (There are more than one in history) with a fantasy twist!

Setting: Usually on SotDRP Mountains because dark ages are always better when it's cold! The technology level is just after the fall of the Roman Empire (most famous dark age) so NO guns, NO Steam, nothing too fancy, etc. There are no major cities that aren't in ruins, small villages, fortresses, are all acceptable, barbarian hordes are good too.

Magic: This is the most confusing aspect of this theme. Magic is allowed in a few forms: Rituals (To gods or whatever), potions, and deity magics (which kind of goes into rituals). There will NOT be throwing fireballs, ice bolts, lightning, curses, etc.

Beasts: Any BEASTLY Creature within Wc3 is acceptable, humanoids will be explained below. Larger forms of Earthly creatures probably work best (IE Giant wolves, bears, mammoths, etc) The More mythical creatures should be less and more powerful. You won't see a flight of dragons flying around, there might be ONE Dragon.

Humanoids: Humans are acceptable, Orcs are acceptable, Trolls are acceptable, Ogres are acceptable. Taurens are allowed, but in fewer numbers and renamed minotaurs, Elves and Dwarves also should be limited due to them hiding. Kobolds, gnolls, murlocs, etc are not allowed. Naga are somewhat of an exception. They are allowed in small groups mostly due to their resemblance of mermaids or Greek sirens, But they are not "Naga" but mer-people. Also, centaurs are allowed as they also fit into a Greek mythical creatures.

Demons, ghosts, undead: Demons may be summoned through extensive difficult rituals, but cost MANY sacrifices to bring about. Ghosts are perfectly acceptable as are any other type of spirit, but they may not have magical powers. Undead can be risen through necromantic cult rituals, but no massive armies. In exchange for the limitations and difficulty of obtaining these things, you ARE allowed to buff them so they become more powerful.

I may or may not make exceptions to theres rules, but you should follow them like guidelines. The main purpose I made this theme was because I was tired of massive kingdoms people would take forever to build and everyone being elves all the time or being a mage (even I'm guilty of that one). Also, barbarian hordes raging through the land give greater possibility of war conflicts, but be weary, there won't be any massive armies.
