In any case, I just recently got all the things I need to play on my DC and tomorrow (at the time of this writing) I'll be trying it out to see if I can play. Guess I should have gotten my crap together sooner, but what can you do... If this doesn't work, I'll still have PC Ver.1 and BB to fall back on, but still, I'd like to play Ver.2 online. In order to make this post relevant, I say this: Cracking open USVer2 and JPVer2 and removing the HL checks sounds like it'll work to me. I have very limited programming experience (just entering second semester of college), but I've been interested in the ROM/game hacking community ever since I got my first translated Fire Emblem ROM four years ago (give or take). I've been impressed non-stop by the fact that this server even exists, let alone all the amazing stuff that goes on here, and I have no doubt that something can be done for us DC fans out there.

USBB is going down; JPBB is not. Since the HL server is in Japan, it's highly doubtful that the closure of USBB will affect the HL server IMO.
