Pretty much. Last few years have been very calm politically compared to the last 20 years though and people will never get along as long as they don't learn to tolerate difference or until there are no differences Edited by BURNOUTFREAK, Aug 14 2014, 06:55 PM.

It certainly feels like everything is getting worse. I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems as if conflict everywhere is escalating. Like, before, even though there were conflicts they sort of seemed under control and distant, but suddenly everything feels much closer and out of control. You're right, it's scary. But I don't know if it's actually scary, or, and forgive my inner conspiracy nut here, the media is just getting better at scaring us with this shit. I hate wild, baseless conspiracies as much as the next person, but I would rather believe the tv wants me to be afraid than we're actually building up to something bad. |

Yeah, it's pretty unnerving. I just find it easier not to think about it, though. For me, politics mostly got boring after 1750. |

the media really is good at making things look worse than they are, i.e. ferguson (but it's still pretty bad tbh, police force is way overmilitarized and the situation is starting to branch out into connecting cities including my own). russia's activity scares me as someone who lives in the states because obama basically told putin we're fucking pussies and i'm worried it won't be long until we hear from him (& china?) once he/they get the balls. israel is awful and i don't even know how to react to it other than cringe and worry about the people in danger and hope they find a way to stay safe. probably the most gruesome of world events as of late. |

The news makes me depressed. It seems that the biggest overly sensitive men that have ovaries instead of balls run most of the countries of the world and cry everytime someone calls them a name. Its either that or watching some other rich fat git been called out for corruption. |

Yeah, I don't even watch the news. There's never anything good. I think a big reason for the world seeming like it's going to shit is because everything is much more widely covered now. |

It's been around since like 50 years ago. It's just that we're don't want to know and be reminded daily.. I almost gave up in the whole 'changing the world a lil' bit' thing because everyone just doesn't want to give a damn. Yeah. I guess once I'm effed up like those Palestinians all I'm getting from the people around me are hashtags and pretentious surface care. |

we're actually pretty lucky. Imagine what the cold war must've felt like. Constant threat of a nuclear holocaust. Kids who grew up in America in the 60 and 70's were taught to hide under tables in case of a possible nuclear strike. Imagine that constant feeling from you were born that the world might end at any moment. The generation before that was even worse, half of the world engaged in active warfare with each other, many people could only sit at home and hope that things would sort itself out and your team would win. Imagine that feeling of helplessness. |

Technically the American date format would also be correct if the year wasn't at the back end. They do 9/11/2001, but 2001/9/11 would be correct, or 11/9/2011. |

i think that at as well, it's just with the internet you have an infinite source of information so you have easier access to all this information and it just all keeps tumbling into a huge big ball of disaster but there's also good things happening around the world right now, and with that same tool you can find out those things it's just easier to focus on the negative and dwell on it. i have hope in the future, even if it might be a bit rocky getting there.
