"It's a giant!" Gegodutch gasped. He turned around to run away, but the giant had already reached his long arm up the tunnel and grabbed his leg before he could get away. "Get off him!" Sakura screamed, swinging her sword at the large, green arm. She succesfully cut the giant, who's arm pulled back quickly. "Aaaaaaargh!" the giant groaned disturbingly. "That's right fowl beast!" Sakura said, trotting further into the darkness. |

"Sakura! Wait!" Kraid yelled, watching as she quickly left his line of sight. "Light!" Yukino said, commanding her staff to lighten the tunnels and reveal what was previously invisible. "Thanks!" Gegodutch said, and right after that he ran down the tunnel. Around him, the walls slowly turned from ancient bricks to mud. They had exited the sewers and were now someplace he didn't know of. Gegodutch caught up to Sakura quickly, and grabbed her shoulders. "What are you doing?!" Gegodutch screamed. "Hey, we have to find out where this giant is going!" Sakura urged, pointing her sword towards the darkness. The other two party members caught up. "Wait up you two!" Yukino said, catching her breath. |

Kraid drew his sword, sensing danger. The giant was cornered. They could see it in the dimly lit cave. "Grrr.... I need to kill it!" Sakura growled, crouching down. She seemed to be bowing down towards her opponent, but when she revealed her face the rest of the party saw something much worse. "What the heck?!" Kraid screamed, jumping three feet back. "It's her demon!" Yukino said, pulling on Kraid's arm. "We should get away!" "Come on Gegodutch!" Kraid said, turning around to run. Gegodutch simply stared in awe. Sakura leaped high into the air and hacked away at the Moss Giant. She impaled the giant with her sword, and then started pounding at it with her chest. The giant quickly fell, beaten to a pulp. |

"Sakura! How'd you do that?!" Gegodutch quietly said. He stepped forward. Sakura’s golden trimmed armor seemed to be steaming, and her hair covered her face. She kneeled on the ground, breathing heavily. “Sakura?” Gegodutch asked. He put his hand out on her shoulder. Too his surprise, she slapped him out across the room. He tumbled over, weakened by his heavy armor. “OFF OF ME!” Sakura screamed. She stood up, picked her rune sword and shield off the ground, and leaped out towards her former friend. “STOP!” Yukino commanded. She held out her staff and Sakura froze midair. “Yukino! What’s going on?” Kraid cried, seeing his friend encased in ice. “I put a spell on her. She’s safe to us now that she’s frozen.” Yukino said, smiling. “But you just killed her!” Gegodutch said, scrambling up. “No, I didn’t. She’ll be released once her demon leaves.” Yukino said, assuring her friends that everything was ok. Gegodutch walked up to his frozen dream. He had taken a great liking to her over the last year that they adventured together. He put his warm hand on her cold cheek. A layer of ice separated them. |

“It’s ok, Gegodutch. She’ll be alright, I promise!” Yukino said. She rubbed her head a little then finally spoke. “I think it’s ok if I tell you…” she paused, “About 20 generations ago, our clan developed a way to use demons and ghosts to enhance our skills and such. We’ve developed our skills extremely well, and each member of our clan can unleash their demons at will. “Unfortunately, with the 23rd generation, something’s gone wrong. Ryo’s the worst case. Many of us have lost control of these demons, killing innocent people and getting into trouble. This obviously isn’t good.” “You waited a whole year to tell us?!” Kraid yelled. “It’s a closely guarded secret, Kraid.” She explained. “It’s ok, Yukino. I understand. Well, Sakura just has to keep her demon under control, that’s all. Right?” Gegodutch said. “Well… you make it sound really simple.” Yukino said. |
