It is 18 degrees F outside at 8:00AM. Is that cold enough to freeze off your whortleberries?

Hehey!

It's turned pretty cold here, but not quite that cold.

Been out of doors all day, and I can't even feel my whortleberries. :D

But that might just be old age, in the way that I haven't the faintest idea what I was talking about only yesterday! :P

Actually, I'm sorta looking forward to senility. Then I can just sit and get waited on and let the wife bring me beer and stuff.

Oops, now its snowing outside.

..or Beth in stereo equipment reviews:

Quote:

It's always great when equipment helps me reflect upon an album in a new way, and that's what happened with The Black Swan by Bert Jansch. The home-studio production, while nicely polished, has a slightly hard edge and an echo that makes the master guitarist and songwriter seem distant. The Mirages brought him up close and personal, somehow detaching the echo and giving the acoustic guitar a pleasing crispness. The chime used for percussion on "Katie Cruel," with amazing guest vocals by Beth Orton, shimmered and undulated in a way I hadn't heard before.

She Cries was on a recent episode of Top Gear. Just seen it now on Sky Plus

My major success of the past week was writing a FLAC filter for iTunes, so I am listening to Beth for the first time in about 5 months!
Went to the JobCentre today, and the Army were there going "Be the Best" ... now T-Mobile just told me I didn't have the qualifications to sell phones, Microsoft said I didn't have the qualifications to answer the phones, and the Army want to let me loose with a machine gun?

I just heard it on the Super Bowl lead in show. While interviewing New England coach Bill Belichek, they played the first few bars of Concrete Sky.
Y' know, after hearing that song as many times as I have, it comes right into focus.
Right now, I can't think of another song I'd rather hear the moment that I die.

If the Patriots lose, it would be the biggest upset in history. Still, the Giants have a fighting chance.
My prediction: Giants 34 Pats 31.

Anybody remember a guy named Buster Douglas?

I can't think of a more fitting last song if I should end up in a concrete overcoat from the mob.

But they probably don't give you the option of a final song!

(You can tell I've been watching too much Sopranos. :D )

I shall be up for the Superbowl, of course, as always!

Programme doesn't start for another 45mins!

Football is on at the moment. Getting ready for work tomorrow though.

If you couldn't stay up long enough, you missed a real nail biter. New England got old right before our eyes, and unlike Linda Lovelace, choked on the big one. :D
One of the best football games I ever saw...period.

I have been seeing commercials lately from State Farm Insurance with Beth singing Ooh Child in the background.
All this used to feature people whose lives have been torn assunder by storms, floods, etc.
Like State Farm is gonna make it all better.
At the moment of disaster I'd rather see Beth than a State Farm agent.

Just heard "Concrete Sky" in a CVS pharmacy.

Spent some extra time browsing the detergent aisle just so I wouldn't check-out before the song finished... :D
