Happy 2007 to everyone! I've been MIA for quite a while- I took on a new job which has me working a full day plus commuting over two hours. I get up at 5:30 and usually don't get home until nearly 7. I do miss my internet time! These days have seemed really long, but the work is interesting so I suppose I shouldn't complain. In other news, I'm seeing a really great guy and this relationship has been such a joy in my life. I have no doubt we'll both be out for the next round of Beth Orton dates- whenever those may come to be. I've been laying sort of low, for me anyway, it feels like I've mostly just been working and sleeping. The holidays were marvelous but exhausting- double the engagements with spending time with my family and his! We took in The Shins at midnight on NYE, so that was very fun. I'm resurfacing from a 4-day fever brought on by a sinus infection, but the drugs are finally kicking in.

I hope your holidays were just lovely and that your year is off to a healthier start than mine! All the best in 2007!

Hugs,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth...It sounds like your new year is off to a rousing start. If your new flame likes Beth Orton, you've got a real keeper.
Drop in from time to time...it only takes a few minutes.

Peace, :peace:

Welcome back!

Seems everyone has had an exciting early January

:peace:
Went to the JobCentre today, and the Army were there going "Be the Best" ... now T-Mobile just told me I didn't have the qualifications to sell phones, Microsoft said I didn't have the qualifications to answer the phones, and the Army want to let me loose with a machine gun?

Hi Elizabeth,

Happy New Year! Hope you feel better soon- everyone around me has been sick it seems. Must be something going around...besides the bad smell floating around NYC yesterday. :D

Take care,
Kathleen

New York is no stranger to strange smells. Last summer, five people on Staten Island were hospitalized for nausea and headaches after a mysterious odor wafted through the borough.

A year earlier, a smell that many likened to maple syrup confounded Manhattanites.

In both cases, the sources of the stench were never discovered.

could this be one of the unaccount bi-effects of global warming? maybe its some crusty caveman warmed up and all ripe now

Some crusty Canadian more like, if he smells of maple syrup!

Down here on the south coast we blame the French for everything (naturellement). I shudder to think what they have to say about us. :)

Hi guys, hope you are all well, I've had a long-running cold now keeping me quiet, on top of a new job and having house burgled (oh well at least this is a new PC)

Well I had that weekend backed up my iTunes folder onto my work laptop, but I've lost the videos I had I think. They are probably still on my ipod which was with me, so I can probably get them back from that.

I do keep an offsite backup of stuff like photos, and I know my wife used to think I was paranoid about stuff like that, but it is important to think about what you'd be prepared to lose...

Dead right!

Being very slightly paranoid I like to have everything important backed up in different formats, in different houses, etc!!

Well that's the aim!

I have copies of my Beth things stored on DVDs, and locked in a heat proof safe in our server room at work, with the magnetic tapes. That's dedication!

I had somebody do a major tune up on my PC a few years ago. I thought I had everything backed up, and after the fact I realised that my address file had been completely wiped out! (yikes)
I still have not retrieved them all...but I did just recently find another one. I sent out an email, and got a reply!
Well, that's one more I can cross off the list...
