i was lucky enough to get a wii on launch date, and have been pratting arround in my living room even since :2cool: ....

until yesterday;

day off work, girlfriend out of the house to get her hair done, so i get ready for a few hours of Zelda action, turn it all on, point the wiimote att he screen, nothing, try the other wiimote, nothing, try to reset the system, nothing, start to panic and unplug the sensor bar (the bit that picks up the ir signal) to find out my cat has chewed thru it, not just in one place but completely thru in 2 places and about another 4-5 minor chews;

so after calmly explaining to the cat the errors of his ways, and how to repect other peoples possesions i email nintendo to find out about spares (still waiting for a reply), then later checked ebay/google and found a wireless version for just under $40 (inc s&h)

so the long and the short of it is,

cat bad
new wireless sensor bar gooood

just thought i'd share ^_^

Wii is on the shopping list. Can't find them for love nor money. Is it hi-def, like the Xbox-360?
Went to the JobCentre today, and the Army were there going "Be the Best" ... now T-Mobile just told me I didn't have the qualifications to sell phones, Microsoft said I didn't have the qualifications to answer the phones, and the Army want to let me loose with a machine gun?

Just keep in mind it's not worth killing yourself for one!

SACRAMENTO, California (AP) -- A woman who competed in a radio station's contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner's office said Saturday.

Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.

"She said to one of our supervisors that she was on her way home and her head was hurting her real bad," said Laura Rios, one of Strange's co-workers at Radiological Associates of Sacramento. "She was crying, and that was the last that anyone had heard from her."

It was not immediately known how much water Strange consumed.

A preliminary investigation found evidence "consistent with a water intoxication death," said assistant Coroner Ed Smith.

John Geary, vice president and marketing manager for Entercom Sacramento, the station's owner, said station personnel were stunned when they heard of Strange's death.

"We are awaiting information that will help explain how this tragic event occurred," he said.

Initially, contestants were handed 8-ounce bottles of water to drink every 15 minutes.

"They were small little half-pint bottles, so we thought it was going to be easy," said fellow contestant James Ybarra of Woodland. "They told us if you don't feel like you can do this, don't put your health at risk."

Ybarra said he quit after drinking five bottles. "My bladder couldn't handle it anymore," he added.

After he quit, he said, the remaining contestants, including Strange, were given even bigger bottles to drink.

"I was talking to her and she was a nice lady," Ybarra said. "She was telling me about her family and her three kids and how she was doing it for her kids."
"Happy Hallucinations, Honeys!"

it only comes with a 3 part composite, not 6 part like the 360, but you can get a 6 part for it, but i dont think it is in hd :unsure:

Cheers,

on a computer related matter, I was browsing through friendsreunited, just looking up random people, and I found a picture of a certain someone, who looks much better than when he dribbling, like he is in his messenger avatar :D

That particular person is also punching above his weight :D

Santa brought the Streplets a Wii, great fun over Christmas but I managed to pick up a knee injury whilst bowling. The Zelda game looks great, much more like Ocarina of time than the last couple that they had for the game cube. Wii Play at around £35 before Christmas is a geat way to combine a cheap game and controller - the pool is quite good fun. Mr Strep bought Call of Duty 3 but is finding it quite frustrating . My only gripe is why can't you use it for cd/dvd?
Some of the worst wrongs are righted on three chords, unless they are played by Status Quo...

I saw a new gizmo the other day that will shoot Wii out of the sky. It is an air guitar simulator. The darn thing realizes what you are trying to play, and plays it back to you. And it is damn cool.
The guy who was talking about it said that it will hit the market in 2-3 years. I can only imagine the stampedes and injuries this thing will cause.
Of course, you could go out and buy a real guitar...
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.
