:wtf: OK. Was wondering if other humans went thru this, or, is it just me. When I listen to a new artist or even a new recording from a favorite artist I have a definate criteria. If the small hairs on the back of my neck stand and tingle I will be hooked for life(happened w/Beth, Grateful Dead, and bout 5 other bands)This does not always happen the first listen but may come in time. If the first time is live however, it has to happen. If I see an artist/band live before ever hearing them on record and this does not happen, sorry, your screwed. Any thoughts?
This is not to say that I only buy stuff from these few bands, but, if it happens I will continue to support them thru thick and thin. It does mean that I will be able to listen to them no matter what mood, etc. I am going thru. Others seem to require a specific feeling or mood to spin their discs.

Nah, it's you ... it's a sign of craziness

Never start a letter with "Was wondering if other humans went thru this, or, is it just me."
Went to the JobCentre today, and the Army were there going "Be the Best" ... now T-Mobile just told me I didn't have the qualifications to sell phones, Microsoft said I didn't have the qualifications to answer the phones, and the Army want to let me loose with a machine gun?

I used to get this type of abuse from my friend who owned a record store. But since he is closed now, there has been a void in my life. I really appreciate the group stepping up and filling this void so I can feel whole again. Thanks to all. :dumbass:

I've had that feeling before, but have not had it in quite some time. I really miss the days of the record store. Buying stuff online does not give the same effect that it used to.
I used to shop at a store called Hegewisch Records and tapes. Their original store was in Hegewisch, Illinois, but later they moved to two stores...one in Lansing, Illinois, and the other in Hobart, Indiana.
The owners were hoodlums, or in the syndicate, or whatever you wanna call 'em. They knew me on a first name basis, because back then I used to drop about fifty bucks a week on records.
I got all my records from them...and Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, and the Beatles all had that hair raisong effect on me. Yes and King crimson had the same effect.
Now a days, only certain recordings do it to me. Beth's album Central Reservation surely did. A few other, too...but not like years ago. Sure wish something giant would happen in the music industry. Seems like it's been in a five year lull.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

I aim to please :tomato:

In all seriousness ... There are only one or two bands I would listen to repeatedly "through rose-tinted glasses"; maybe the ones that fall by the wayside are actually dreadful albums, or my tastes have changed, but something definitely happens.

Listening to it back, there are quite a few poor songs on CoS ... I might not even listen to it at all if it wasn't for this place. Lucky also that just when it is starting to get dull, or get a bit stale, we get a new member (like Ali), or the re-appearance of old members (like TJ and yourself), who inject a bit of life back (because they are loudmouths!)
