That's a coincidence, when I hear Arthur, I think Treacher, but not Bill! :D

(Also an actor, and purveyor of fine British cuisine)! :P

The Arthur must have some sort of family connection? I am pretty sure there are no Arthurs in the country under the age of 40...

On that note, best of British to her, I CANNOT imagine what life would be like with 2 young children at this point in life!

Thank the Lord for the edit button :dumbass:

I know an Arthur under forty!

It is a wonderfully romantic ancient British name, on account of its association with 'the once and future king' ... and I totally approve.

But I bet there are even fewer Nancys under forty. Because of personal associations I like that choice too!

Maybe Beth is on a mission to rescue once popular names that have fallen into desuetude (great word)! I am sure there are plenty more contenders should she decide to enlarge her family further.

That is indeed a great word! Coincidentally, on Sunday a picked a usage book from my shelves and found several sheets of paper with words I was adding to my vocabulary back in the 1970s...and that was one of them. I have to say, though, I haven't used it in many, many years. If only there was a word to describe that! ;)

These days, I mostly just point and grunt.... :huh2:

PS- Streppy, nice picture!

Could be worse, I could have thought of Arthur Daley.

More congrats are in order then, Strep.
Went to the JobCentre today, and the Army were there going "Be the Best" ... now T-Mobile just told me I didn't have the qualifications to sell phones, Microsoft said I didn't have the qualifications to answer the phones, and the Army want to let me loose with a machine gun?

I'll field it, in the interests of speed:

On the very first Beth board (yes, that one), her username was strepsil junkie. Nice to see she overcame that addiction and turned her life around :D

It was a throat thing, but not a Mongolian throat-singing thing, I believe!

Thanks guys! The name came about via a medium term cough sweet addiction, formed to circumnavigate nicotine cravings whilst at work, as noted by Ade, I have overcome it, however it is more displacement - once out of view of the kiddies about 30 minutes chain smoking does the trick: good things come to those who wait :P

On the traditional name note, it is nice to see some older ones coming back... I have had some corkers in classes during placements! It was almost a relief to see a "Wullie" on my list for the coming term! :P

I too am a Strepsil Junkie of sorts. I love black licorice. My favorites are Smith Brothers Cough Drops but I can't find them any more.
Black jelly beans are primo. Most people don't understand.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.
