"Bah, excuses," Hadrian responded, still moving. "One idiot with a sword is nothing. And what the hell's a hit point?" |

"....never mind." Jake sighed and sped up his pace a little. |

Rakif sat on the ground, his massive axe laying beside him. People walking along gave him strange looks, but said nothing. After all, what would you possibly say to a huge shirtless man sitting on the ground with an axe? However, he did not notice any of this. He was too concerned with his provisions. He had nearly used up all of the food he had gotten from hunting, and he is too far from any area rich in game to make it before he is nearly dead. He could raid this town, but it would be far too risky. As powerful as he was, he was but one lone man. He groaned miserably, knowing that he would suffer a lot of discomfort for quite awhile. However, he noticed a group walking by. Leading them was a purple-haired man who looked quite irritated. Rakif's left eye twitched. That man... He carries himself like a lord. He must have some sort of wealth... Perhaps they have supplies with them as well. He grabbed his axe, preparing to strike, but noticed startled looks from nearby citizens. Hm... I will have to follow them out of the city. I should have no problems after that... He stood up slowly and silently, and began to stalk them as if they were no different from the game or stray bandits he had been hunting his entire life. He hung back slightly to avoid alerting them, but kept near enough to not lag behind. It still aroused suspicion, however. Not that anybody said anything about it. Once again, what could you possibly say to a huge shirtless man following a group of people with an axe? |

Elle looked on as Rakif followed them out of the corner of her eye, although that was hidden behind her dark glasses. Her expression did not change. After a while, she had slowly made her way up towards Hadrian. "Followed," she said quietly. |

Hadrian looked over his shoulder, then stopped and turned. "You, with the axe. You got business with us?" |

As soon as Hadrian spoke, Rakif stopped dead in his tracks. His axe stayed down by his side, his gaze directed to the ground. He was going to attempt to make himself seem like he was not a threat to them. Cautiously, he raised his head and looked at Hadrian. He grinned at him, but underneath the light-heartedness was a twisted sense of insanity. "I am sorry, sir... I have been traveling the continent, trying to find some way to make some money. If you are wondering about the axe, I had been attacked by some highwaymen during my travels, and I needed a weapon for self-defense. I am a starving man, and I will continue to be one for the foreseeable future. Unless you would be so kind as to provide me with some... Assistance." Although he was portraying himself as a beggar, he silently promised himself that he would earn whatever he gets by killing them when they reach the edge of the town. |

Hadrian looked at the man for a moment, particularly his axe. "That axe looks like silver to me. Doesn't look like it's in bad condition either. Look for an armory that'll give you a decent price for it." |

Rakif looked at his axe and mentally cursed himself for not foreseeing this response. However, despite this, he still had the same friendly look on his face. “Ah, I can’t, sir. You see, this axe is an old family heirloom. My great grandfather had used it in battle, for he was a high ranking general in Jehanna’s army. Recently, it was very worn-out and rusty, so my father, who was a blacksmith, had it repaired. It’s bad enough that I must use it to fend off thieves and cutthroats, I do not wish to see it sold.” Everything he had said right there was a complete lie. He did not know his true father, and the one who had raised him was simply a retired mercenary. His axe, however, was in good shape simply because he had taken good care of it. After all, it wasn't like he could just go out and buy another one if it broke. After being questioned by guards all over Magvel over the years, Rakif had become quite skilled at the art of forming alibis that suited his situation. |

"Too bad then. We're not giving you anything. Anywhere else, I'd tell you to mug someone if you can't find work, but not in my town." That said, Hadrian turned and started walking again. "Keep an eye on him, Elle," he added. |

Rakif merely smiled at Hadrian's harsh answer. "Haha, are you truly wary of a mere beggar? I understand Magvel is experiencing a harsh time, but I am hardly a monster of any sort." Clearing his throat, he changed the subject. "Hm, very well then. However, I am not aware of the location of any nearby towns. If you will not aid me, could you at least show me to a town?" |

"If you were just some beggar, you'd have a cup, not an axe," he said. "Follow along to the next one, if you must. Order stands, though." |

Rakif bowed to Hadrian. "You have my thanks, lord. I do hate to impose, but I truly cannot travel alone. Besides, there is far greater safety in numbers these days." |

Elle acknowledged Hadrian by not acknowledging him. She merely watched Rakif from behind her glasses for any sign of danger. |

Rakif noticed Elle look back-ish, and directed a warm smile to her. "Excuse me, madam. My apologies if this is not the case, but are you staring at me?" |
