I've been lurking this Forum, and was surprised to see that nobody's found this before. It's a trick for making AIs in the mapmaker that won't attack you when they spot you.

To start, place two tiles next to each other, and connect them with a locked door (the door should be the only way to get through to the other tile). Now place your starting point on one side of the door, and an enemy set to Spawn and Attack on the other, unarmed. Now set up a logic operation so that 1 second into the game, the door will unlock. If you preview your map now, you'll see that instead of attacking you when the door opens, the AI will simply point an invisible gun at you and shoot no one.

If you experiment with this, you can aqcuire loads of cool situations, like a torture scene. Try it out!

Is it possible to get the "civilian" to follow you around? Could make for some interesting story maps. Would be awesome if you could set it so when a certain person dies you lose, but too bad... (I meant escort missions would be great)

Well, I've done such experiments, but so far have been unsuccessful. The AI will just hold his position, and will only back away if shot as far as I'm concerned.

Somewhere on the forum was somebody talkin of ducks just running around...
I think the one said that these ducks don't see the player as enemy, this would be a way of 'civilians' :/

I think the duck thing had something to do with having them on a turret, and not being able to get at you directly, and it runs all around the map at you or something. I IS ARE 4GOT.

I think there is a way to make the civilian thingy said by Irk without using a locked door i just don't remember how though.I know you can because i've seen it on a story level made by Lomnops on Xbox live.

And there is something else too i know there is a trick where you can see a zombie laying on the ground if you know what i mean.I just don't know how to do it.Maybe it is the same way than making the civilian.I should try it tonight because i started making a series of story mission(filled with cool glitches of course)and i will make the next part tonight at the same time i will try the zombie trick i was talking about! :w00t:
