This is the bigger version of Black Comet, for the alternate(smaller) version, Click here

Black Comet

Finally, the bigger version of Black Comet is here. It took me awhile to make, and hopefully I didn't make mistakes. It's basically a map based on the stage from the game, "Shadow the Hedgehog. It looks similar to Final Haunt in terms of lighting, but has 1 additional color, and there are many deathtraps. The deathtraps represent the toxic waste substance according to Shadow the Hedgehog(the game). Black Comet is also the mothership of the black arms.

Deathmatch-based modes work great. It's alot reccomended to set the score method to "Kills" if you're playing with bots. Elimination and Vampire work great as well, preferably Vampire. Capture the Bag, Zones, Bagtag, and Thief are all here. Shrink may cause problems due to the complex map, but I didn't disable it.

Default Color of this map should be the 4th blue from the left. More lighting info and other info are in the notes section.

When I mean light blue, I mean Cyan(Torquiose).

The Red Keys are placed on certain tiles for a specific lighting color. After you're done with the lighting, REMOVE THE KEYS!!!

I set the sky for this map to Alien, but it also looks cool with the Abstract sky.

Have fun with this map and hope u like it!

Whoa, there's death tiles everywhere. Looks cool. I'll make it when I feel like doing so along with other maps, but first... I must go through all the maps I downloaded from TS3 online. I'm starting to run out of them now. Most of them are story maps.

yeah, I've been having trouble making this type of map. My first Black Comet map didn't look good, and I scrapped that one, since it kept freezing. Then I made a smaller map, which is in this case, Black Comet A(alternate/smaller map). I liked that map, but not as much as this one. I then tried to finish making the main one and did the best I can, and so I came up with this one.

I wanted to add more, but I ran out of space, and deathtiles and stackables took alot of space. But overall, it's close to what I want it to be. And I really like the map. Best of all, unlike Final Haunt, this map never froze on me, despite being Egyptian and uses more space than Final Haunt.

If you decide to make the map, tell me if u enjoyed it or not.

tried it in deathmatch and didn't like it. I usually go for 100 frags but this time I stopped at 50 because it was frustrating.most of the time you'll stay in the same place, trying to dodge rays coming from everywhere and eventually dying by walking a lil bit on a deathpit.
also it's really hard to aim an opponent because the map is dark and they are spike everywhere, I didn't even tried to score headshots, I only fired when the cursor turned red...
bots like suiciding...
and finally, grenades seem very hard to use.

Oh, wow. I never knew my map would be that bad. I didn't find the lighting to be that dark. It's dark, but I could see fine. It should be the same lighting as Final Haunt or Black Comet A(but it has red lighting in certain spots), but I guess the death tiles ruined the map, right? I usually moved around the map. I don't stay on the same place all the time.

yeah, I think there are too much death tiles. I like it when it's pretty frantic and you can still move around the map very freely and set your own strategy.

Still, I personally think that's part of the challenge, and I don't really die by the death tiles that much. But I guess I'm just into those types of maps, and people have different tastes. I just don't like large maps that are so bland or symmetrical. Small Symmetrical maps are a little better, but it's best if the map is non-symmetrical.

Was the lighting really that dark? I mean, you never argued about Black Comet A being dark, but you did for this one. Was it just the death tiles that make it dark? Or hopefully you didn't confuse a certain lighting color.

it was harder to see with the spikes, because bots were hidden behind them.

Have you tried it on Virus? I wouldn't think you'd like that mode, because that mode is pretty fun for this map, but I personally think Deathmatch and Elimination modes are better for this map, but I understand why you didn't like it.

I liked the older sonic games better, when there were less people and more springs! It was a surprise when I got Shadow the hedgehog, and finished it 6 times on the first day. At least the levels were different, though. Its better than K.T.E. finishing the old SEGA games in like 32 seconds.

Anyway, I'll make this map soon, and as long as I remember I'll tell you if I liked it - because I used to love making pitch black levels that pulse in every other second and stuff. Damn gave myself headaches!

I like the older Sonic games too, but I don't know if like them better than the 3D ones. I personally enjoyed all the 3D games(haven't played Secret Rings). Shadow the Hedgehog was fun, and I thought some levels were interesting, but it was kinda frustrating at times. Some levels were horrible. I didn't know you find the game too easy. I found it hard at first. It got easy after awhile. Decent game at best. My favorite 3D game is still Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. What's K.T.E stand for?

Hope you like the map. Don't worry, this isn't pitch black or anything. Default color Purple, Death traps are Cyan/Torquise, and a few red spots(well it's suppose to be pink, but it showed red). The lighting shouldn't be too hard to follow.

Ok, I finally made this map. Only played it on Deathmatch, twice. Once on mapmaker preview (up untill 240-ish kills) and once on my standard arcade deathmatch (15 minutes, + Kills - Suicides, no kill limit).

Both times, I stuggled at first, but ended up, dominating. The later match, I lead for over 13 (of 15) minutes. I won that by over 20. The best moment was when I owned several bots in a row with the plasma autorifle and only a sliver of health.

So, did you like the map?

Well usually since there are some many death tiles, you might want to change Score method to "Kills" instead of "Kills-Suicides", but that's just me.

I did and I have always liked my Kills-Suicides-style matches. It was pretty hard to see, but that maybe me. Maybe I just confused the blues. I did lighter blues for death tiles and darker for the map.
