Actually, Black Comet never froze on me despite being in Egyptian and having lighting similarities to Final Haunt, except I used pink(which actually shows red) on the ramps and few other spots. I nearly ran out of space. There's some lag in this map, but no freezes.

Oh, ok. I thought those gazillion deathtraps + some stackables would cause some freezes, but that might only be a problem in military tileset.

That's what I thought. I guess it's just a matter of how you make the map. I should probably rebuild Final Haunt, but it's prolly gonna turn out to be the same.

You tried Black Comet yet, Knives?

K. If you do plan to make it and play it, tell me if you liked it or not. This map shouldn't freeze, or at least not as much as Final Haunt. You might expect some lag though, and possible frustration when playing this map. If so many deathtiles aren't the type of map you like, you could play Black Comet A(also known as BC2). BC2 is smaller and has less death tiles.

But personally, I enjoyed this map more than BC2(which isn't a sequel, it was just a posted map so I could finish on the original).

IMO, this map is great for Virus, but I think you said you don't like that mode that much anyway.

Black Comet never lagged on me, but then again, I was offline. Maps usually only lag, when I'm online. (which I can't be now  < towards EA)

well, it's not really surprising since lag only occurs online

Lag can also occur depending on how the map is made. Perhaps if the map is big or if it has too many items or stuff going on, can make the map laggy in some spots. Black Comet only has very few spots that lag, but other than that, it should be smooth.

it isn't lag, but drops in the framerate.

I thought Lag and Framerate were nearly the same thing. What's the difference?

Don't know, but my framerate rarely drops. It's only happened on a handful of maps I've played.

I think lag has something to do with the connection speed of each players.
for example a guy shoots you, and you may see it shooting like 1s later.

drops in the framerate are slow downs

Oh, well I thought that Lag was the same thing. Because when I read a reader review of TS3, the reviewer said that the mapmaker bot limit is 8 players and bots. And stated that that was suppose to reduce the PS2's lag, in that the PS2 couldn't handle more than 8 bots as opposed to the other two systems, and I suppose FRD forgot to raise the limit(although, I heard Xbox can still have up to 10).

I just made this. It's ok, I like the franticness... all the deathpits are sometimes a bit annoying, but it does make the match more tense.
