im a novice at this, i tend to make maps of here rather then my own.
but heres the best map ive ever made
it's probably the main map, that ive made, that me and my friends like the most.
so here it is, The Pillars of Egypt[1]

Thanks for any positive feedback, and it's a bonus if anyone decides to make it :D

Lolz, don't take the "at least" seriously, it looks like it'd be a good, fun map.

Btw, I wouldn't neccisarely see something to improve, but if anything I'd say get a slightly different weaponset. This one fits the theme but a few more imaginative/unique weapons couldn't hurt the map. The sky is alien anyway and you'd get a sort of Unreal-style Egypt map with a few lazarz :P

Lol, I just saw the "bot/weaponset can be of your choice" line. Oh well, you could still try to mess with some of the weaponsets(you might want to try to place certain weapons somewhere else when doing so).

i suppose so
i dont really like teleports as they sort of defy the point of the staircase being there, if you know what i mean?

but if having teleports makes it better for you then go ahead :D

teleports on top of staircase lulz


But really, if you add some strong weapons/powerups/healing items on the route that takes the longest to travel, it makes it worth traveling, but not neccisary to win.

actually I may have missed 1 or 2 staircases while looking at the plan.

but I made it and it's still a pain to find some weapons (like the sniper)
the map looks pretty amazing, but isn't that special when you play it.

the bots have to be cheating, since the revolver is fucking harmful with them, and totally crappy with me, unless I get the max damage.

the flamethrower is also there only to allow bots to kill you (damn cheap weapon)

I spent most of my time near the health pack, especially when I had the sniper.

in overall a decent map, but really not player friendly.

How is the flamethrower cheap towards human players? It insta-kills them, not you o.O

Oh, and, most of the comments you make seem to be weaponset-based :deceptive:

because most of my deaths from the AI (in overall, not only on this map) are because of the flamethrower.
(if I survive it but get shot and die right after, I consider it's because of the flamethrower too)

yes, most of my comments are about the weaponset and items placement

you'll learn. at the beginning I was simply following that simple scheme :

weapon 1 : the least powerful, the most easy to find, you would often find it on the way.

weapon 6 : the most powerful, the hardest to get. either it is pretty well hidden, either it is pretty dangerous to go get it.

now, it depends of the weaponset I choose, but I usually keep the order 1= least powerful, 6= best, and I like having a kind of "super" weapon you can only find in one place.

thats what i normally have

i normally go by:
1. Pistols
2. Pistols Again
3. Shotguns
4. Machine Guns
5. Sniper Rifles / Machine Guns
6. Explosives / Or Snipers

im okay with picking, just not good with the placement.

But 2 types of pistols (Like having Pistol 9mm and Kruger x2) can be BOOOOORING


Besides, you don't always need 6 types of weapons, sometimes only 4 or 5 is good enough
