"Just a h...unch?" Simon replied, shrugging before raising an eyebrow. Veronica started acting a little weirder after he had asked her, he had to remember to stop making such big leaps in connecting words and ideas. His new companion started picking up the pace with a little jogging, but it was reduced to a small "jog-in-place" when they reached the haunted house sooner than they expected. Veronica had started fiddling with her phone before accounting for all of them and heading into the structure. Sighing, Simon shook his head and called out after her, "Hey! Wait for us, Veronica!" The asian promptly took after her, hoping she didn't get separated from the group. |

Theodore decided that the university had definitely gotten this part of the Haunted House right. The evil-looking arms coming out of a coffin ahead were definitely creeping him out. And the "fire" was closing in from behind as well. Ted wondered briefly if any of the Psyche Worlds were going to be like this? Nonetheless, he knew that he had to press forward. "You will have no more people in your Crypt tonight, foul demon!!!" Ted shouted, again getting into the spirit of the situation, before charging right past the arms with a loud battlecry. This time, Ted was having too much fun to really get embarrassed about the situation, a wide grin appearing on his face as he ran. |

It didn't take Grant long to get to the Haunted House. Once he had, he found Veronica and Simon. He didn't find them for long though. He arrived just in time to watch Veronica hurry into the building, followed by Simon. Grant stood, with a somewhat unamused look on his face. He decided to wait just outside the door for the rest of his group to show up. Once they did, he figured he'd just tell them that the others had already headed in. Once that was taken care of, he could head up the rear of the group. It seemed logical. After all, if he just headed in, what was to say that Catherine wouldn't sit outside waiting for them to arrive, thinking they'd gotten there first. So he did just what he'd planned to. "Hey Mira," he told the girl, who showed up shortly after him. "I'm going to wait for Catherine, just so she'll know we're here. Feel free to head in." And then he waited for the last girl. |

Life's no fun without a good scare

Slowing his run down the hall, Tristan closed in on Ted, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Alex was there as well. Tristan shuddered, that voice was starting to get to him. Maybe it was just his overactive imagination but . . . Well, the haunted house was doing its job. So of course, when the arms appeared Tristan cringed. The shout of 'stay right there!' made him jump and (rebelling the order) take off at full speed behind the president, jolting past the reaching arms. Adrinaline was rushing, and the sound of Ted's battle cry made him laugh dispite the scare. |

Mira nodded at grants statement. Since Simon and Veronica had gotten a larger head start she was just following behind the groups unofficial leader. "Awww, they went on ahead without me? Maybe they want to be alone... See?! It is a date!" She exclaimed, pouting a little in the process. " They shouldn't have lied about it. I'm gonna go pester them as punishment~ See ya Grant." Her mood went from a sulk to a smile in a matter of seconds. Such was Mira's attitude. She didn't like to dwell on the negatives, and she was fairly easy to cheer up. If it had been any other way, she would be one hell of a difficult teen to deal with. More so then she already was, anyways. She waved to Grant as she left, and quickly burst forward toward the haunted house. Before entering the girl came to a sudden halt, almost falling over as she noticed the man who seemed to be wearily taking notes on a clip board. Assuming it was some form of attendance sheet, the girl simply introduced herself. "Mira Auberdeen~ Heading in!" Not spending a moment sooner, not even waiting for a response or reaction, she bolted once more. This time into the structure, anxious to see just how this event was put together. She prayed she wouldn't be dissapointed. |

Catherine arrived at the haunted house with her bucket of goodies, and saw Grant outside the house by himself. Considering that she left the booth last, it would be very strange if she and Grant had been the first ones to arrive, so she walked up to Grant and asked “I take it they already went inside?” Of course Grant did let her know, and the fact that he waited for her to show made Catherine want him more. “Grant, the fact that you waited for me was sweet. In fact, I think you deserve a sweet reward for it~” Catherine told him, right before she kissed him on the cheek. Catherine then went to the door of the attraction and opened it. “Come on, we don’t want to keep them waiting~” She told Grant, before heading inside. | ||||

Alexander followed his companions down the hallway while the flames continued to advance. The spooky voice continued its tirade, threatening the trio with unknown horrors. Alex was largely trying to ignore what the voice was saying, preferring ignorance when dealing with flames at his back. However, its final sentence caught Alex’s awareness and the young man looked forward in time to see two arms emerge from within a coffin-like locker. “Bloody hell,” Alex muttered under his breath. He heard Ted shout his defiance once more and dart past the grasping hands. Tristan followed, laughing aloud in what Alex felt was a hysterical manner. When he had agreed to meet with Tristan at the Halloween event, he didn’t think that he would end up being chased by flames in a school gym with creepy creatures lunging out from lockers. “Halt foul creature!” Alex shouted in an attempt to play along. “Come no further or risk cold steel!” Alex put action to his words, though the two didn’t entirely match, as he charged ahead. He attempted to leap past the reaching arms, pressing his thin frame against the opposite wall. He attempted to keep pace with his companions, hoping to avoid falling behind and risking certain death. |

"Hohohoho! Run, run! No matter which way you go, you will fall prey to the heat of my flames!" the creature laughed. As Alexander and his friends managed to bound past it, the locker door burst open and the creature's full body emerged. The figure was obscured by the darkness, but the rest of his body was much the same affair as his arms: red-painted, dark skinned, and somehow bulging with veins. The worst part was his nightmarish face, its mouth spread into a wide grin and its eyes bulging from their sockets, red and bloodshot. They stared straight ahead aimlessly as the creature's head waved madly; it had begun to chase them. "It's the end for you!" the Indian laughed, chasing them now along with the flames. The only refuge might be an open door to their left, which seemed to be allowing a small amount of moonlight in from the other side. ---------------------- Simon, Veronica, and Mira went on without Grant and Catherine, who stayed to greet the teacher (the others went past virtually with no visible acknowledgment from him). The vampire's voice greeted them as they entered, giving much the same line as the others received. "Don't be in a rush," he added. "You should get well acquainted with this place! You'll be staying here with my guests for all eternity! Mwuhahaha!" The awful din coming from the locker room area was exciting, full of yelling voices and fire sound effects, but there was no way to enter; the door was locked shut. Their only options were the right or left doors to either side of the guest sign-in book. --------------------- Grant waited up for Catherine and received a reward for his patience. The man looked up, seeming a little jealous, then sighed and got back to his writing. "Uh, let's see... there's six people in there already but... I guess you can go in. Just wait a second before you go in," he muttered, sniffling and writing down on his pad obsessively. He didn't seem friendly enough to make conversation with for very long. Truth be told, Theodore was really starting to get freaked out. He'd been expecting a conventional horror monster, like a mummy or a vampire, to pop out of the coffin, not some kind of runic demon thing. His mind kept telling him that it was really just a guy in a suit, but his adrenaline was what was keeping him in the moment. Ted reached the end of the hallway, then turned around. "Quick! Go through the door! I'll hold him off!" Ted shouted, standing fast. Truth be told, he only intended to wait long enough for the others to pass through before heading through the doorway himself. |

The voice's threat caused Tristan to glance over his shoulder as he ran. Past Alex's running form he saw the rather realistic demon monster step out of the locker and come sprinting towards them. It probably wouldn't have bothered him as much as it did, but this didn't look like some cheesy costume you could pick up at a store. This chap was bloody frightening. "Bugger-!" the rest of the curse was cut off as Tristan turned his head back around to concentrate on running really fast. Beyond Ted he spotted the door and moonlight to his left, and aimed for that. When Ted suddenly stopped and proclaimed that he would hold the creature off, Tristan laughed, amused by the boy's corny, but entertaining go-along with the haunted house. He almost crashed into Ted, but Tristan's agility came into play as he braced his left leg, forcing his body to turn. His cape whipped out behind him as he gracefully made the sharp turn and darted head first into the new room. |

“What in the nine hells of Nimorath…?” Alex muttered to himself as the creature emerged fully from its coffin and began to give chase. “Go! Go! Go!” The young man lowered his head and ran for all he was worth, charging along the hallway toward what he hoped would be safety. There was an open door down the hall on his left, moonlight streaming through in a promise of safety. Ted was already at the door, promising to hold the beast off until Alex and Tristan were free. Tristan hit the door, bracing his legs to make the turn without colliding into Ted, and ran out. Alex followed right after, not bothering to slow down. He latched onto the doorframe as he moved past, using it as an anchor to hurl himself out of the hallway. “C’mon Ted!” Alex yelled. |

After seeing the two go through the doorway, Ted took a moment to look at the creature. "Sucks to be you!" he shouted, before jumping into the hallway, slamming the door behind him. He took a moment to stop, gasping and panting; he hadn't realized how much he was exerting himself. After catching his breath, he went down the hallway, following after Tristan and Alex. "This is... kinda cool actually," Ted murmured as he walked. |

"Finally caught... up with you?" Simon started, raising an eyebrow at the scenario presented to them. Something like fire and loud noises came from the locker room, which seemed to be locked. And there was an eerie guest-list in front of them with two pathways to the left and right of it they could choose. "Oh...? You wish to lock us in, but what would be the fun in that? Veronica and..." Simon began, chuckling as he scratched his chin thoughtfully, looking around to see who else had arrived. "...Mira, shall we undo this demon's line of thinking? I say right is a good idea at this point." The asian gave a confident smirk to his allies, getting a bit into the mood of the whole thing. They were here to have fun after all. |

Finding the Truth

"The set-up is pretty impressive," Veronica commented, taking in the atmosphere that the haunted house provided. It was a surprisingly good job, but Veronica still found she wasn't really caught up in the experience. As much as her curiosity drove her to explore, her imagination for these sorts of scenarios was sort of shrimpy. She attributed it to her investigative nature: she had a hard time accepting things at face value, so when presented with a floating ghost her first inclination was to look for the wires. Simon seemed like he was getting into it, though. Was this a reflection of the culture Simon came from, or just his weird personality? Either way, Veronica figured it would be a bit easier to enjoy the haunted house if she hung around someone interested in it. "Right sounds good. The sounds coming from behind the middle door are pretty gruesome, huh...? I wonder what twisted surprises the owner of this house has in store for us!" Playing along so enthusiastically was kind of embarrassing for Veronica, but then again overacting and dramatics were things she enjoyed as a hobby. As she headed for the path, Veronica turned around to make sure Mira was coming, gesturing her over with a hand motion. |

"This is gonna be a fun adventure~ heehee" Mira couldn't wait to get exploring the area, itching to see what awaited them beyond one of the two doors. Her curiosity and high levels of energy were more then enough to drive her through the atmosphere, without getting bored or frightful. After the psyche, she was pretty much ready for anything, and doubtful she would find something more terrifying then that experience in the real world. "Let's see you try, you demon! There's not a place built that can contain me! Besides, you can't scare me when your evil laugh lacks energy. MWUHAHAHAHA!" Getting a bit over excited with the whole idea, Mira just went with the flow and even tried to mimic the voices laugh, perhaps to the disdain of her fellow members. She hadn't noticed one way or the other. "Right, right's a fine choice. I'm ok with right" She nodded as she heard Simons suggestion, seeing no reason to choose otherwise. Hearing what was coming from the middle door she wanted to check it out as well, but she couldn't help the door being locked shut. "Lead the way, Simon." |

"Well then..." Simon started, taking a step toward the right direction as he opened his eyes. The asian's own gleaming red globes pierced through the darkness as Bryon put on a confident grin, leading his small group to the path on the right of the guest sign-in. "...let's go!" Bryon barked, grinning madly as they went on. [Simon, Veronica, and Mira head to the right] |

Grant was happy to help a friend, so Catherine's pleasure at knowing he'd waited for him wasn't entirely unfounded, in his opinion. The length she took it to, on the other hand, may have been. He hadn't expected a kiss. It just happened. He didn't resist, likely due to his shock. The action caused his face to flush for a moment, though he recovered fairly quickly thanks to his naturally cool demeanor. He still wasn't sure what to make of her. "She's moving so fast. I don't understand what drives her. I'd be flattered, but I'm pretty sure it isn't just me. She's a flirt, but she's taking it really far." It wasn't an entirely unpleasant experience by any means, but Grant wasn't sure he should be encouraging this sort of unwarranted affection. So he smiled and decided to ignore it. There wasn't a good way to answer that without encouraging it or coming off harshly, so he didn't. "No, we wouldn't." Grant answered, as he headed to the door. He placed his hand on it and gestured in. "Ladies fist," he added, holding the door open for Catherine to allow her to proceed before him. He headed in after that. |

Catherine of course did notice Grant's face after the reward, and the fact that she managed to get some sort of positive reaction from the boy made Catherine a bit happy. While it was just a blush, that was enough for Catherine. Catherine was about to open the door to enter the haunted house, but then the man that she had apparently missed started to talk to the two. He mentioned something about there being 6 people, and that they should wait a little bit before heading in. Of course Grant opened the door shortly after that, and motioned to head inside. “Very well, my gentlemen.” Catherine told Grant, actually entering the attraction this time. |

"Do not think you can escape, my friend's!" the Indian's voice called out after them, even as they shut the door. Ostensibly, the three had made it outside, when suddenly they realized that they were only almost to the gate that surrounded the outer field area. Two walls had been obstructed on either side, painted to look like bricks. From the top of the walls shot plumes of flames, illuminating the scenery around them. Several of the bricks slid away, revealing bulging eyes that watched the three as they left. "Hohoho! You may leave, but know that I will be stalking you even for the rest of the halloween night! No one escapes my deadly pyre. Enjoy the night as best as you can, friends. Hohoho!" the creature's voice rang from some microphone system as the three approached the gate to exit. As they finally managed to leave the haunted house area, the creature they'd just left approached them, slowly removing the fake veins and eyes that he'd used to create his appearance. In reality, he was simply a very muscular, dark-skinned Indian with a bald head and very jovial expression. The three wondered how he'd snuck around them, but were unable to come up with an answer. "How did you like it? For surviving the realm of the Pishacha, I award you each with one of these pins. They're hand painted, you know, so sorry you don't each get one. You'll have to decide on who gets it... It's tough, I know!" he laughed, handing out a small, pin-on badge to Alex. The badge was mostly red in color, reading "I SURVIVED THE PISHACHA" in white letters across. ((Get accessory: Pishacha's Badge (Casts "Red Wall" at start of battle) )) ((You're free to leave as soon as you're ready)) ----------------------------- "Haha! Let's see if your courage holds up!" the vampire voice cackled as Simon, Veronica, and Mira disappeared through the third door. They found themselves in what was undoubtedly the gym area, but had been made very dark by covering all of the windows and using only dim lights. The bleachers had been decorated to make the place look like an indoor botanical garden... or perhaps a jungle? It was a little hard to tell. Considering they were still supposed to be inside, the obvious conclusion was a garden. The three wandered briefly before the figure of a woman peaked out from behind one of the bleachers, keeping her lower body concealed. "Hello, my guests," she cooed with a smile spread across her face. The woman's dark hair hung around her head in a frayed, disorganized manner, giving her a witch-like appearance. Her face was very pretty and her figure very mature, clad in a red shawl and dress. Her fingers peaked around the shrubbery, revealing extremely long, dangerous looking nails. "What fertile harvests crawl through the night! You'll make fine feasts..." she laughed, her voice steadily become more beast-like as she continued speaking. It became hard to distinguish her words, and she slowly withdrew back behind the bleachers. Before they could investigate, the woman's torso rose from behind the bleachers, although her face was now contorted with a tremendous open mouth, showing several jagged fangs. A long, purple tongue hung past her jaw, but it was hard to focus on her face once the three realized that it was only a torso flying through the air, propelled by flapping wings. Entrails hung disgustingly from where the torso had disconnected. "Don't ruuun!" the beast-like voice encouraged them, but it was a hard order to follow. ----------------------------- Grant and Catherine just missed Simon and the girls as they disappeared down the door to the right. A handsome boy with long, dark hair and a tan body looked at them briefly. He was clad in some very realistic looking Athenian armor and was currently busy locking the right-most door so that the others couldn't get out. Quickly, he retreated into the middle door; he did it with as much furious motion and vigor as he could, to seem intimidating, but his behavior did little to hide the fact that he hadn't anticipated more haunted house visitors so soon and was clearly not supposed to be seen locking the door. As soon as he got back inside the left-side door, the vampire's voice sounded again. "Welcome to my house!" the voice over the intercom laughed, sounding slightly less prepared than it usually did. It rambled much the same message as it had earlier, but a little faster paced so that it was harder to understand. Edited by Aim, Sep 25 2010, 07:23 PM.

Tristan had expected another room, but the cool night air hit him refreshingly. He had not realized how hot it had been inside the Haunted House, but all the running and body heat had produced a light sweat across his brow. Tristan sighed and wiped it away with his sleeve. He walked down the 'alley way' carefully, studying the eyes that peered at him from the brick walls, waiting for the next monster to jump out at him. None came however, and he reached the exit gate safely. Was it over? Already? Too bad, he had been ready for more! When the demon monster appeared, Tristan braced himself, but the actor merely removed his mask and spoke in a friendly tone. Tristan relaxed, accepting that the Haunted House was officially over. Tristan smiled and laughed, "It was wonderful," he answered, "very fun. And you sir, are a scary fellow." He leaned forward and studied the pin handed to Alex and laughed, "Give it to Ted," he suggested, "That chap knows how to get into haunted houses," Tristan gave Ted a friendly nudge. "Anyway, what shall we do next?" |
