In Egypt she was known as Naunet or Maut, in Ancient Greece as the Titan Selene and later in what remained of her influence as the Earth-Mother Dione, but to Atum she had always been his Queen. His Empress. His Goddess.

An orange glow settled over the imperial district of Arctura as the sun set, tall spires silhouetted against the peach-tint sky, and yet somewhere else in the city was just cresting dawn. Such was the nature of a global city.

Atum reclined casually in a chair, looking out over the warmly glowing city. The sky was still a slight shade of orange interwoven with purple, dotted with stars and streaked with thin clouds. The whole scene was rather picturesque, and the warm glow extended into Atum's room, refracting through the crystalline window and casting unusual orange patterns. He sighed deeply as he gazed out of the window at nothing in particular.

The sound of the door sliding open snapped his attention back into the room. Atum span around to view the entrant.

She stood in the doorway, a non-descript white dress graced her figure and her flowing blonde hair draped itself casually on her shoulders. She smiled at the Supreme System Lord in recognition before speaking. "Greetings, my Lord."

Returning the smile, Atum stood and approached his guest welcomingly. "Lady Selene, it has been too long!" He stood a short distance from her, "I am most pleased that you have returned to prominence once more."

"As am I, Atum, as am I." She spoke softly. Unlike the interactions common between fairly powerful Goa'uld, there was a sense of mutual respect between the two of them. The small console on Atum's desk began to beep intrusively, and the voice of one of Atum's Jaffa was patched through.

"My Lord, reports show an increased amount of traffic in the Anar'ea System and Haidrata Rift."

"Very well," Atum spoke, turning his head towards the device, "I would suspect this to be the precursor to the struggle I anticipated would emerge after Atlas's demise. No matter, I shall attempt to attend both congregations and ascertain the situation." He returned to look at Selene. "My apologies our reunion was short lived, but we must prepare the fleet to accompany us to these two locations."

"I shall go and assemble the ships." Selene responded. She gently stroked his cheek with a single finger before adding, "I hope that our reunion will not consist purely of 'business as usual'." She smiled coyly, a look which Atum returned to her... There were several reasons that he could think of as to why human hosts were preferable!

((The etymology of Selene is uncertain, but if the word is of Greek origin, it is likely connected to the word selas (σέλας), meaning "brightness". Boreion Selas (Βόρειον Σέλας) is the Greek name for Aurora Borealis, the "northern lights".))

Seti sighed he had been working none stop for over three days despite being a goa'uld it had taken its toll. His eyes were now slightly blood shot and he was tired. He slowly walked out of the room he hadn't left for the past few days, he slowly looked down the corridors and slowly headed towards Atum's throne room.

As he rounded the corner a few jaffa stepped aside he was tired and didnt even acknowledge their presense. Continuing down the corridor not stopping for any one or thing he stopped outside the throne room. Straighting his robes. The sound of the opening door made him look up again as he walked in head raised and trying not to show the signs of fatigue at working none stop.

He kneeled down and bowed his head "My lord I have completed the upgrades your requested to your command ship" he said staying low to show submission.

"Ah, Master Seti." Atum spoke favourably of the Goa'uld entering his chamber. "You have worked diligently on the upgrades, and I thank you for your efforts. I shall be departing for the Haidrata Rift shortly, and you are more than welcome to accompany me to the summit."

Atum smiled at his minor. A recent addition to his empire, Seti had earned his place as a genius in the field of technological advances. Subsequently, he had been employed to upgrade the greatly lacking shield power of the Razgriz, which should now with Seti's advancements be enough to withstand the most pervasive of Goa'uld weapons fire. Or so he hoped, at any rate... With the current demographic, any advantage they could achieve would mean the difference between defeat and victory.

"We leave within the next few hours."
