"Why art thou ants?" Malkav spoke as he looked out the view screen. The planet, system included, were still many AU's away from the cruiser, yet the screen showed the bustle in the Jvrallis slave markets. Enchained peoples were corralled and shoved between stages and immense cages by the dozen. The blood and excrement of the slaves were everywhere...hygiene was not of the utmost concern for these barbarians. Malkav paced the room for several tense moments as he muttered to himself and tapped his face mask with an erratic rhythm. He finally stopped and approached the screen. "Take us into high orbit of that planet," he said calmly. No one responded, as no one could discern what his battle plan was. Hell, no one knew if the crazed general actually had a plan. Oftentimes a Peragnith general would slip into the Despair mid-battle, turning a successful multi-stage attack into a suicide run. Malkav looked around the room. "Did I stutter?" The helmsman quickly shook his head and plotted the course into the main console. Malkav nodded and turned his head back to the screen. The planet grew in size by the second as the warp field generator pushed the ship to ever faster speeds. Finally, they reached stable orbit above the planet. Sensors were already screaming with hostile contact readings, but Malkav simply walked over to the console and disabled the sirens. "Level the city, and smile for our close-up..." |

Milky Way, Hyznag System, Jvrallis, High Orbit: Two black hulled Mark II ha’tak drop out of hyperspace from their system patrol and begin broadcasting,” Unknown vessels, you have entered the territory of the Titan Empire. In the name of the Titan Atlas stand down and prepare to be boarded.”…. Pel’tak of the Mark II Ha’tak “Crisu”: The Jaffa Commander brushes his black cloak from his shoulders as he moves closer to the main screen to get a closer look at the unidentified ships. He looks over his shoulder at the priest who stands near the command console and says,” Is this being catalogued in the Titan Net and broadcast to Troy?” The Priest nods as he says,” The Net can find no match for the vessel, preliminary scans are off the charts, we can get no clear specifics. Suggest we proceed cautiously.” A Jaffa at another console says,” Commander they are moving in an aggressive posture toward the planet.” The Jaffa Commander turns back to the screen and frowns as he says,” Flight Command launch all DeathGliders. Weapons…load all Naquadah tubes, set staff cannons to firing pattern, Circe Delta.” The pel’tak crew buzzes with activity as the Jaffa Commander says,” Open the comm.. again.” As the channel clicks open the Commander says, ”Unidentified vessel your hostile actions are ill advised, to attack this world will invite the full power of the Titan Empire upon you, the wrath of Atlas will haunt you to the gates of perdition, stand down now, I will not ask again…….” |

"And so the fly becomes the spider, and the web begins to be spun..." Malkav wandered aimlessly around the bridge as the vessel was hailed. His comm officer looked to him, but Malkav ignored the intrusion. "I have yet to find oblivion, I hear it is nice this time of year." The Ha'tak pair began to fire excessively; not a single barrel refused to relinquish its payload. The torpedoes arced away from their tubes and rushed silently to their target. Aboard the pair, both commanders smiled as they awaited the impact. A brief spike of energy was detected on board the ships, but aside from that, everything was normal. The intruders would soon be gone and their technology dissected. Yet, that never happened. As the weaponry headed towards their targets, sensors suddenly began to blare about two new targets. The new ships were quickly identified as...the same ships. The commanders both looked bewildered as the original ships in the distance melted into the ether like they were never there. "Atlas help us..." one muttered as the ship opened fire, unleashing a beam of energy that cut straight through the shields like a hot knife through butter. *** "Now," Malkav said in a sing-song voice, "let us follow this web into the void." |
